Explore the Salzkammergut region in the eastern Alps, which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Natural Heritage list in 1997. Discover the snow-white castles, breathtaking alpine landscapes, and the stunning beauty of Hallstatt.
Arrive at the Salzkammergut region by car. First, visit the fairytale-like Ort Castle (Schloss Ort), connected to the mainland by a 130 m-long wooden bridge. It is one of the oldest buildings in the Salzkammergut region, renowned for its romantic atmosphere and wedding scenes. Don't miss the chance to take photos on the famous wedding bridge.
Continue deeper into the heart of Salzkammergut and explore the dreamy town of Hallstatt nestled by the azure lake. There, you will find the famous skywalk, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the town, lake, and surrounding mountains. You may choose to purchase an itinerary including the skywalk admission ticket. Or upgrade to the optional lake cruise and admire the scenic beauty of the lake by boat. Lunchtime is free for you to explore the town and immerse yourself in its natural charm. Afterwards, return to Vienna, where the journey concludes with a drop-off at the Vienna State Opera.
