JUNGSIK Review

Jungsik, Seoul, a world-class Korean-style Michelin 2-star restaurant, is arguably the star restaurant in Korean cuisine. Chef Jungsik Yim is one of the hottest chefs today. He showed his culinary talents during his military service. The governor turned him into his own private chef, and the subsequent buildup of culinary skills in a series of Michelin-star restaurants in the United States and Spain made him a self-supporting portal in 2009, opening a Jungsik restaurant in Seoul. Although the Michelin Guide only included Seoul in November 2017, the famous Jungsik opened a restaurant of the same name in New York in 2011, first picked Michelin one star in New York in 2013, and was promoted to two stars in 2014. In the first Michelin Guide Seoul, Jungsik won one star, and the restaurant was promoted and maintained two stars in 2018 and 2019. Of course, this restaurant is also Asia's best 50. The shop on the first floor facing the street is a cafe and the restaurant is upstairs. Generally, it is booked 2 weeks in advance, but it depends on the situation. I booked 5 days in advance and it was successful. It is not weekends and dinners that there may not be too many people. The reservation method is to send an email through the official website. The other party will feedback a confirmation email. A credit card guarantee is required, about 30,000 won. Jungsik has two choices of 4 dishes and 5 dishes for lunch. I chose 5 dishes, 95,000 won. But I chose Korean Niu for one of the dishes, so I added 20,000 won. Most restaurants in South Korea include taxes and service fees. This restaurant is no exception. Plus I didn't drink, so the price is about 600-700 RMB. The Michelin 2-star restaurant at this price is still very good value for money. It should be noted that the price of dinner will be 14.5 10,000 won, which is a lot more expensive than lunch, so if there are people like me who are still choosing noon. Finally, let's talk about the dishes. JUNGSIK is a new Korean meal, which is reorganized with local ingredients integrated into Western methods. I didn't ask how often I changed the dishes, so I didn't introduce the dishes one by one, and everyone might eat the same. But as far as I am concerned, JUNGSIK's whole dishes are more exquisite, but they have not touched me, but the taste of Han Niu is commendable, it may be that the restaurant has been open for too long, and it has entered the bottleneck period.
