A walk around Side Ancient City!
A place full of history, full of story and legends, streets that make you feel that you are living in ancient ages.
The ancient city is also full of beautiful cafes and boutique restaurants, an ideal place to relax and educate yourself on the history of the area.
It is also extremely accessible from most hotels along the beach. It took us a 30 minute walk along the promenade.

Side welcomes visitors in a Roman bathhouse which was restored and converted into a museum in the ancient city.
It is an exciting place to visit as it has a lot of great artifacts which for the most part are not exchibited on the shelves but in a more natural way - inside the large Roman baths (dating 5th - 6th centuries A.D.) which were restored and converted into an archaeological museum and in the garden. You can feel a very special atmosphere there.
The sculptures of Gods and the reliefs of the sarcophagi are absolutely spectacular and testify to the highest level of skills of the artists of Asia Minor.
Despite of a very hot day, inside it felt pretty cool and there was a lot of shade which also contributed to the pleasant visit.
It would be interesting to visit it, even if you are not a connoisseur of history. However, if you are a history lover, we would recommend to read some information about Side prior to your visit and also pay attention to the signs and inscriptions there.
Enjoy your visit!

Side Crown Serenity All Inclusive Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Beach in Side Crown Serenity Hotel - Turkey
The beach is located 800 meters away from Side Crown Serenity Hotel. It takes around 10 minutes to walk to the beach and there’s also a shuttle bus going every 15 minutes for those who don’t want to walk.
It is a private sandy beach 80 meters long and 60 meters wide with plenty of sun-beds, umbrellas and its own beach bar, terrace and loungers specially for Crown Serenity guests. Once there, lunch and drinks are easily obtained via the bar. The beach bar is open daily from 10am-5pm.
Overall the beach is good, very clean and convenient.

Side Crown Serenity Hotel - Turkey
Stayed at Side Crown Serenity for 14 days. It is a nice clean hotel with friendly staff. Our room was lovely, cleaned daily with new towels and sheets with pool view.
The hotel is all-inclusive. So the food and beverages are included in the room price. The food was Ok, could be better but there are many options so you can find something you like.
There are 2 outdoor swimming pools, an indoor pool, spa, sauna and fitness center. Private beach with a bar is about 10 minutes walking from the hotel, good that they have a shuttle service to the beach every 15 minutes.
The hotel is located 10 mins walk away from a small bazaar where you can go for a walk or a shopping.
Overall not a bad hotel, but it’s 4 stars hotel, not 5!

Apollon Temple Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Temple of Apollo and Athena - Side, Turkey
The remarkable Temple of Apollo and Athena, dating back to the 2nd century, is located in Side Old Town in a picturesque place on the shore of the bay. The Temple is considered as one of the most romantic attractions in Antalya region.
If you have a chance, make sure you go there. The magnificent temple of Apollo and Athena is mostly in ruins, but you get the feeling how it looked like before.
The territory of the temple is small and you can see everything in 30 minutes. The Temple is close to good restaurants where you can have a nice lunch or dinner. So there’s so much to do in that area!

Apollo Temple Where Anthony ❤️Cleopatra Met
A visit to the ruins of the Apollo Temple makes for a fascinating experience for lovers of romance and history. It is believed to be the place where Anthony met Cleopatra; he presented the Apollo Temple as a token of his love and devotion to her.
Even without the romantic angle, the Apollo Temple is a magnificent work of architecture dating back to 2nd century AD. What made it different from other temples of that era, is its antechamber which had a pair of massive Corinthian columns. It was built in honor of Apollo, the god of light and music.

Greek Amphitheater Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Side Amphitheater - Side, Turkey
Trip to Side is incomplete without a visit to this beautiful amphitheater which lies in the heart of this lovely town. The theatre has a rich history. Originally it was Hellenistic theater, center of culture and art. In Roman era it was used as an arena for gladiator and animal fights as well as a stage for plays and shows. In Byzantine period it was converted to an open air church and holy place. At the present time, concerts and cultural events take place in this ancient building sometimes.
The Amphitheatre was the largest theatre in the Ancient Pamphylia area where 15,000-20,000 people could be easily seated.
The amphitheater is located in the very center of ancient Side, not far from the Museum of Ancient Art.

Side Museum Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Side Museum - Turkey
I highly recommend to visit Side Museum! There is a nice collection of sculptures, torsa portraits, tomb steles, Greek and Side inscriptions, column capital and etc. There are quite a lot of information signs, both in Turkish and English.
Side Museum is located in an ancient bath building that dates back to the 2nd century and has survived until now. It is a small museum, it won’t take more than 30 minutes to see all the artifacts. The Museum is very close to the local attractions and the entrance fee is very cheap.
