Visit Dai village in Yunnan Xishuangbanna
During our visit to Xishuangbanna, we had the opportunity to explore a Dai minority village, and it was an unforgettable experience. The village was nestled in a lush tropical forest, and we were immediately struck by the peaceful and serene atmosphere.
One of the highlights of our visit was trying all the local foods and crafts. The Dai people are known for their delicious cuisine, which is a unique blend of spicy and sour flavors. We tried all kinds of dishes, from grilled fish to hotpot, and everything was absolutely delicious. We also had the opportunity to watch the villagers make handicrafts, such as bamboo baskets and traditional clothing.
Aside from the food and crafts, we also enjoyed just relaxing and taking in the beauty of the village. We walked around the narrow streets, admiring the traditional wooden houses and colorful decorations. We even had the chance to participate in some traditional Dai activities, such as dancing and singing.
Overall, our visit to the Dai minority village in Xishuangbanna was an amazing experience. We felt like we had stepped back in time to a simpler, more peaceful way of life. If you ever have the chance to visit Xishuangbanna, we highly recommend taking the time to explore one of these villages. It's a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

Dai Ethnic Garden
The Dai Ethnic Garden is located at the Olive Dam by the Lancang River in Xishuangbanna, consisting of five Dai villages, each with its own Buddhist temple. Among them, the Manchunman Buddhist Temple is listed as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units, which is particularly exquisite and spectacular. It's best to visit the garden early when there are fewer people, allowing for an immersive experience in the Dai culture.
Unless you are elderly or with children, it is not recommended to take a vehicle; walking in the garden is a pleasure.
There is a dazzling array of snacks, with the tiny corn being very tasty, and 2 yuan can buy 6 bananas, which are truly 'fragrant' bananas.

The Water-Splashing Festival of Xishuangbanna
Away from the downtown area,
🚗 transportation is not very convenient,
I chose to 🚕 rent a car.
🎫 The ticket is forty-five,
then entering the park everything costs money 💰
✅ Sightseeing car
💰 40 yuan
✅ The pavilion seats in the water-splashing square also have a minimum consumption
💰 20 yuan with a free cup of 🥤 cola,
✅ Upstairs observation deck
💰 50 yuan
✅ Popular mini train
💰 50 yuan
✅ Border speedboat for half an 🕐 hour
💰 299 yuan
🟢 Except for the temples which are free to enter,
other attractions basically require an additional fee,
and taking photos is not as good as in Manting Park.

Xishuangbanna | Dai Ethnic Garden·Daily Water-Splashing Festival Carnival
Transportation🚐: We chartered a car for 120 yuan round trip, there are also high-speed trains but only two trips, so plan your time well. We intended to take a shuttle, but after waiting at the bus station for about half an hour, we saw no bus coming.
Ticket🎫: 45 yuan for adults, 22.5 yuan for students, 40 yuan/person for the sightseeing car, which is quite necessary. The Dai Ethnic Garden operates on a model of farmers + tourism developers, consisting of five villages. The park is quite large, and the main attractions are not concentrated, mostly consisting of farmers' houses. However, if you want to experience the local dwellings or the characteristics of Dai villages, walking is an option. The scenery is beautiful, and along the way, residents sell their own farm products, with local fruits being quite famous.
Water-Splashing💧: The water-splashing times are at 13:30 and 15:30, with the water being warmer in the second round. Plan your time accordingly, and if you want to participate, bring a change of clothes and disposable towels for convenience.
⚠️: As the visit takes a long time, bring some food to replenish energy. You can bring your own small basin for water-splashing or buy one there, which seems to be 5 yuan each.
When we went to the Dai Ethnic Garden, we just wanted to participate in the water-splashing, but it turned out to be quite fun. The border wharf is also worth visiting to see the small town across the Lancang River and Northern Myanmar behind the mountains, although we did not take a boat. The stilted buildings and residential buildings of the Dai people also have their own unique charm.

Awa Mountain Exploration 26: Manchunman Buddhist Temple
In the Dai ethnic garden, a series of spectacular, exquisite, and ancient Buddhist temples and pagodas signify the long-standing presence of Buddhism, as well as their extraordinary status in the hearts of the Dai people. Among them, the ancient Manchunman Buddhist Temple is one of the oldest in Xishuangbanna, with a history of over 1400 years. The temple houses Buddha statues, including Sakyamuni, and is considered a sacred place by the Dai people. Here, one can quietly appreciate the exquisite Buddha statues and the magnificent temple architecture, as well as participate in chanting, worship, and prayer, feeling the faith and devotion of the Dai people.

Xishuangbanna
✅The ancient Dai name of Xishuangbanna is translated into Chinese, meaning 'ideal and magical land'
✅The only lush oasis on the Earth's Tropic of Cancer
✅China's only tropical rainforest reserve
✅Ji Xianlin's 'Golden Country'
❇Here the mountains and rivers are lush, there is no severe cold in winter, and no extreme heat in summer. There is the romantic poetry of rain hitting bananas, endless folk customs, and exotic customs that can be felt without leaving the country.
🔆It is warm and pleasant all year round, with an average annual temperature of about 22℃. But different seasons have different experiences:
▶November to February of the following year: The weather is dry and cool, suitable for outdoor activities and exploring natural landscapes, and it is a good time to watch wildlife and taste tropical fruits.
▶March to May: The temperature is suitable, flowers and plants are blooming, it is a good time to appreciate the sea of flowers and visit temples.
▶June to October: The rainy season, high humidity. Although there is more rain in this season, it is also the green season of Xishuangbanna, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of dense rainforests.

Xishuangbanna | Step into the enchanting time of the Dai people
In this magical land of Xishuangbanna, there is a nationality: the Dai people. It has a long history, and in the process of civilization evolution and confrontation with nature, the Dai building, also known as the Dai stilt house, which is still preserved today, was born. There are still large areas of Dai stilt houses. The breath of Dai people's life is preserved in these stilt houses, which we collectively call: Dai village, and the Dai garden is a scenic spot composed of 5 Dai villages, where you can still feel its historical culture and life breath at close range.
: 8:00-18:00, it is recommended to enter the park from 10:00 to 16:00, and it is recommended to play for about 3 hours, and it is recommended to take the scenic spot battery car.
: The big ticket is 45r, and the battery car + ticket is 85r
: The Dai Garden is about 30km from the city, and the journey is about 40 minutes. At present, there are only chartered cars, self-driving, and group day trips to go there (a direct bus to the scenic spot will be opened later)
Ganlanba, is the residence of the ten chieftains of Menghan in the past dynasties. There are 5 natural Dai villages in the scenic area. The most worth seeing in the park are several ancient temples. The Menghan Chunman Buddha Temple building complex is exquisite and atmospheric, and the murals and sculptures are very artistic; the two tower trees at the entrance of Manting Buddha Temple are said to have a history of more than 200 years, and there is a Tibetan Golden Hall behind the white tower of the Buddha Temple
The temples in the Dai Garden are both historical and beautiful!
The Dai Garden can visit two temples--Manchunman Buddha Temple and Manting Buddha Temple, because of the iconic pagoda in the temple, the two temples are also called 'Golden Pagoda' and 'White Pagoda' in the garden.
Manchunman Buddha Temple has a history of 1400 years. Although the area is not large, the architectural craftsmanship is very exquisite. You can see the delicacy left by history. It is a good choice for viewing, learning, and taking pictures. The white tower of Manting Buddha Temple also amazed me. The pearl white tower is too beautiful to see with the naked eye and to take pictures. Blue sky, green trees, white tower, Buddha temple, perfect combination.

New way to travel in Xishuangbanna
We only went to the Starlight Night Market that day, there are many photography shops, everyone should discern, if you have enough budget, I suggest choosing the ones with more stores and more customers, although they are all assembly line princesses, but the big stores are basically more guaranteed.
Choosing the right style is very important, my friend and I chose the Western Region Princess, but due to the problems of styling + photographer + ugly appearance, we didn't post any of the final photos, and we didn't even bother to look at them.
We stayed at the Manxi 7 Island Hotel, the hotel is independent, the room is very large and clean, it is located inside Gaozhuang, very close to the Starlight Night Market, it is not noisy at night, we are very satisfied with our stay!
During the 4-day itinerary, we went to Manting Park + Total Buddha Temple (40 yuan), Dai Nationality Park (45 yuan), Forest Park (40 yuan), Prajna Temple (free).
Manting Park is really a good place to take pictures, the green plant coverage is very high, most of the pictures you find are taken here, it is recommended to do some makeup and take pictures here, if you don't know how to do it, there are many 'little bees' in the park, 100 yuan for 30 pictures, much more than the photographers at the Starlight Night Market.
The Total Buddha Temple is inside Manting Park, commercial photography is not allowed here, you can only find a good angle and take more pictures.
The Dai Nationality Park is actually a scenic spot composed of many villages, we took a bus at the Banna Passenger Station in the morning, 10 yuan per person, the Dai Nationality Park is actually just walking around in the village, there are many villagers selling fruits on both sides of the road, starfruit is one yuan each directly picked from the tree, papaya is the same, thumb bananas are quite delicious.
The most important thing in the Dai Nationality Park is the water splashing activity in the water splashing square, you can also experience the joy of Dai Di here! Just watching them splashing each other in the pool is very interesting.
There is no need to go to the Forest Park specifically, the journey is far, and there are no entertainment activities, it is just climbing and oxygenating, there are such climbing parks in many places, charging 40 yuan for the entrance fee is a bit of a rip-off.
The white tower of Prajna Temple is really beautiful, it only takes 10 minutes to check in and take pictures, it depends on your choice, I think it's great to come here to check in!
The food here is all Southeast Asian style, we ate at Chunwuli, Xiaoyu Daijia, Qingmei, Wantai, Cool Thai, recommend Xiaoyu Daijia, Qingmei, it's really delicious.

Highlight recommendation
Rich Dai style. The Dai Park concentrates on showing the history, culture, religion, architecture, customs, clothing, food and production life of the Dai people.
Primitive Dai life. It is mainly composed of Manjiang Village, Manchunman Village, Manzha Village, Manga Village, Manting Village, five of the best preserved natural Dai villages, each with its own characteristics, retaining the original Dai life state, with a strong exotic style.
Diversified and integrated attractions. The park attractions include the Welcome Square, Manchunman Ancient Buddha Temple, Manting Buddha Temple, Manjiang Buddha Temple, Water Splashing Square, Dai Natural Village and Open-air Theater, etc.
Scenic spot recommendation:
Manchunman Ancient Buddha Temple: It has a history of more than 1400 years and is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Xishuangbanna. The architecture is antique and has a strong Dai style.
Water Splashing Square: There are two water splashing activities every day. Tourists can rent basins to participate in the water splashing activities and experience the fun of the Water Splashing Festival.
Warm tips:
It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes, the scenic area is quite large, and it takes at least half a day to stroll around.
If you participate in the water splashing activities, it is best to bring a set of replacement clothes. You can store your items in the nearby shop and bring a waterproof bag for your mobile phone. Don't stand too close when watching.
The Dai Park is suitable for play all year round, and there are different sceneries in different seasons. If you have enough time, it is recommended to stay in the Dai Park homestay for a few days.
Welcome friends who like it to like, collect and follow me, there will be more exciting later

✨Travel Suggestions:
The scenic area has older villages, bamboo houses, and many pagodas. Here you can understand the culture of the Dai people, you can also stay and experience the Dai life. The plants inside are quite rich, but if you want to understand the real original bamboo house culture, it is not recommended here. As for the sightseeing car in the scenic area, I don’t recommend it. I basically stroll around slowly, and it’s almost half a day.

The Dai House in the Dai Ethnic Garden
The Dai Ethnic Garden contains five ancient villages. There are four famous Buddhist temples in these five villages, namely Manting Temple, Manzha Temple, Manchunman Temple, and Manjiang Temple, and a very small Manjia Temple.
The Dai Ethnic Garden is a tourist area with indigenous people, so there are many indigenous Dai houses, each with its own characteristics. Many Dai houses have now been converted into guest houses and restaurants.
This is my second time entering the Dai Ethnic Garden scenic area. In addition to the temples, I mainly came to see the distinctive Dai houses.
