Visiting the Qianhu Miao Village during the off-season is worry-free and feels like being in a world of fairy tales and martial heroes!
Visiting the Qianhu Miao Village during the off-season is simply fantastic! You can freely take photos throughout the village without any pressure.
The stilted Miao houses scattered across the mountains, nestled among green hills and clear waters, create a scene of beauty that feels like being in a fairy tale world when all the lights are lit at night.
There are numerous spots for sightseeing and photo opportunities. There are six Wind and Rain Bridges, with the fourth and fifth ones being particularly revered; the Yunting Hotel offers a panoramic night view of the entire Qianhu Miao Village, and Fang Qi has also shot here, with excellent results in blue tones, especially when the lights are on, it's like stepping into a scene from a fairy tale drama; the Lusheng Field hosts wonderful cultural performances every day, where you can enjoy the songs and dances of Miao girls; the viewing platform offers nice views both during the day and at night; the lively Youfang Street, with its array of Miao specialty shops, is a great place for close-up portraits of young ladies.
Transportation is also very convenient. You can take the high-speed train from Guiyang to Kaili South Station, then take a direct bus to the scenic area from the right side of the exit, with buses departing every hour and a fare of eighteen yuan, or a taxi for about one hundred and ten yuan. Self-driving is also convenient; you can choose the west or north gate depending on where you're staying, about 2.5 hours from Guizhou, with a parking fee of thirty yuan per day. The parking lot is a ten-minute walk from the entrance to the scenic area, and you need to take a sightseeing bus to enter.
The entrance fee to the scenic area is one hundred yuan, but it's free for residents of Foshan and Zhejiang. For dining, the Old Village at the viewing platform is highly recommended, with delicious rice dishes and greens. There are many special foods in Southeast Guizhou, such as sour soup beef, reed pond sauerkraut fish, rice tofu, sweet zongzi, and cured meat, etc.
For accommodation, I chose Sanchunli. There are three hotels here, each with its own characteristics, and all facilities and equipment are shared.
Sanchunli · Ji Huayuan Meisu is only five meters from the scenic viewing platform, with a coffee bar and book bar, and the mountain view rooms offer a panoramic view of the terraced fields, with an interesting batik experience hall on the first floor.
Sanchunli · Meng Holiday Hotel has the only cliffside infinity pool in the Miao Village, which is super photogenic, and you can also have a drink at the 'Rebirth Bar' at night. The forest SPA here is also worth experiencing.
Sanchunli · Zhong Quanjing Meisu is located at a commanding height of the Miao Village, with each room offering a stunning window view, and a private viewing platform, allowing you to enjoy the lights of thousands of Miao homes without leaving your room.

Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village||Stories about the ancient Miao village
||Stories about the ancient Miao village.✨||Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is the largest and most well-preserved Miao village, known as one of the 'Top Ten Most Beautiful Ethnic Villages in China'. Rows of wooden buildings are scattered among the green mountains and waters, each house with its unique style and shape. In the village, you can hear the wonderful singing and dancing of the Miao people, taste the authentic Miao cuisine, and gain a deeper understanding of the ancient Miao traditional culture.
🛖The stilted houses of the Miao spread across the mountains, hidden among the green mountains and waters. When thousands of lights are lit at night🏮
it's like stepping into a scene from a fantasy world.
📸Here's a list of photo and check-in spots for Qianhu Miao Village:
Wind and Rain Bridge: There are 6 wind and rain bridges in the village, I personally recommend the 4th and 5th ones.
Yunting Hotel: You can see the entire night view of Qianhu Miao Village, the view is great, and Fang Qi has also shot here. It is recommended to shoot during the blue hour when the lights are on, as it resembles a scene from a fantasy world.
Lusheng Field: There are cultural performances every day, where you can see Miao girls singing and dancing.
Viewing Platform: Both day and night views are very nice.
Youfang Street: The street is full of life, with a variety of Miao specialty shops suitable for taking close-up portraits of girls.

Thousand Miao Village | Read this full guide to Thousand Miao Village | Super comprehensive
🏡 The Miao is one of the largest ethnic minorities in China. If you want to experience the Miao Village, then the Xijiang Thousand Miao Village in Guizhou is a must-visit. This place is known as the largest Miao settlement in the world. If you want to know the essence of the tour, then keep this guide 👇.
🚗 Transportation guide:
1. Airplane: You can first take a plane to Guiyang, then take a car from Guiyang to Kaili, and finally take a car from Kaili to Thousand Miao Village.
2. Train: You can take a train to Kaili Railway Station, and then take a car from Kaili Railway Station to Thousand Miao Village.
3. Car: You can take a bus from Guiyang, Kaili, Leishan and other places to Thousand Miao Village.
I drove here, the road conditions are very good, it is recommended to stop at the west entrance area, there is a parking lot outside the Miao Village, go to the parking lot, and then walk to the scenic area to buy tickets. There is a large commercial street on the way to the ticket office. You can also take a battery car to the homestay in the scenic area with your luggage.
💰Ticket price: 90 per person, plus 20 yuan for the battery car ticket, the scenic area is open day and night, you must stay inside to experience the essence of the Miao Village.
🏨Accommodation guide:
I chose to live in the Miao Village, the popular homestay here is 'Xijiang Cloud Pavilion Panorama Hotel', the photos are absolutely amazing. So I chose to live near the viewing platform here. Of course, you can also choose the homestay near the pedestrian street at the foot of the mountain, which is closer to the commercial area and more convenient to play.
🏰Attractions guide:
1. Because the hotel is on the high viewing platform, you can choose some bars to watch the panoramic view of the entire Miao Village (better at night). The internet celebrity pavilion in the hotel I chose is basically one of the must-visit check-in points when coming to the Miao Village. The best position requires extra money to go up if you are not a guest.
2. You can take a battery car from the viewing platform to the No. 1 Wind and Rain Bridge. This is the east area of the Miao Village. If you go west along the Baishui River, you can pass six Wind and Rain Bridges. Each one is worth a visit. The streets on both sides of the line are the core commercial areas, with all kinds of shops, but first go and take a photo with the Wind and Rain Bridge, which is another must-check-in project. You can refer to the positions where I took photos, especially between the 5th and 6th Wind and Rain Bridges, which are very beautiful.
3. If you want to taste Miao ethnic food, you can find a restaurant at random on the commercial street of the Miao Village or by the Baishui River. There are all kinds of prices. You will find that many restaurants in the Miao Village have singing, which may invite you to experience 'High Mountain and Running Water' (a group of Miao girls pouring you wine). If you just eat, the specialties are sour soup fish, pickles, bacon, etc., especially sour soup fish 👏
4. The lusheng field in the center of the Miao Village is a large outdoor Miao stage, where there are often free Miao group song and dance performances, highly recommended, a famous scene. Not far from it is the oldest Gaga Ancient Alley in the village, where many characteristic ethnic shops are opened. (You can navigate directly here.)
5. In many houses between the commercial area and the high places on the mountain, they are basically either homestays or local residents. The Miao Village is composed of several Miao villages, not just pure tourist attractions, so the school basketball court is near the commercial street, just stroll around to appreciate the architecture of the stilted buildings and see the life of the locals, which is also very interesting. This is how deep tours are played.
6. At the easternmost part of the village is a large piece of farmland, which can be seen not far from the No. 1 Wind and Rain Bridge to the east. This is a place close to nature. It is also terraced fields, but the background is the layered high-footed house scenery is different, if you have time, you must come over for a walk, the scenery is unique.
📌Small Tips: The area of the Miao Village is very large, there are many places to watch and play, it is recommended to stay for at least two days or more. Don't think it's commercialized, go up the mountain carefully, you will find many places still retain the original state. If the ladies want to take pictures, there are many photographers here, various ethnic costume travel shots in the southwestern ethnic scenic area have been out of control, I see they are all the same, it is better to take some unique photos by yourself.
🌈In short, if you don't come to Guizhou to travel to Thousand Miao Village, you won't be able to experience the essence of Guizhou.
