Come to Wudang Mountain for a snow journey!
Wudang Mountain is snowing, the eight hundred miles of Wudang is covered in silver, the white snow is everywhere, everything is still, the ancient dan walls and green tiles are still telling the ancient legends.
Snow trees are fragrant and full of jade, the top of Zixiao gathers the truth of immortals. Wudang in the snow presents a beautiful picture of mountains, snow, and red walls. Wudang Mountain is dressed in a holy snow coat, like a fairyland, it is extraordinarily beautiful. A casual shot is the most beautiful scenery. It really is
Why not, in the romantic first snow, come to Wudang for a snow journey
May you, after the winter snow falls, all expectations come as promised!

Asking about Mount Wudang, I perceive the essence of heaven and earth
Mount Wudang, that is a sacred place bearing the legends and mysteries of a thousand years. With a heart full of anticipation and longing, I set foot on this magical land.
As soon as I entered the Wudang Mountains scenic area, I was stunned by the majestic mountains. The mountain ranges undulate, resembling a giant dragon winding its way. The green trees in the mountains provide shade, and the clouds and mist that linger add a touch of ethereality and haziness. Walking slowly up the ancient stone path, every step I took seemed to be in dialogue with history.
The first thing that caught my eye was the solemn and majestic Zixiao Palace. Red walls and green tiles, flying eaves and arches, all showcase the unique charm of Taoist architecture. The incense is burning vigorously in the palace, and the chanting of the Taoist priests echoes in the air, instantly calming the soul. Here, time seems to stand still, and everything becomes so serene.
Continuing forward, there is the famous Golden Summit. When I finally reached the Golden Summit after a hard journey, the scene before me took my breath away. The sunlight shone on the golden rooftops, sparkling brilliantly, and the surrounding sea of clouds churned, as if I were in a fairyland. Looking far into the distance, the mountains stretched out beneath my feet, and a sense of pride welled up inside me.
Apart from these magnificent buildings, the natural scenery of Mount Wudang is also intoxicating. Strange peaks and rocks, clear springs and waterfalls, every scene is picturesque. Walking in the mountains and forests, breathing the fresh air, and feeling the gifts of nature, both body and mind are greatly relaxed.
This journey to Mount Wudang is not only a visual feast but also a spiritual purification. It allowed me to appreciate the profoundness of Taoist culture and the infinite charm of nature. When leaving, I took with me a heart full of gains and reluctance, and the magic and grandeur of Mount Wudang will forever remain in my heart.
This is Mount Wudang, a holy mountain that people yearn for and are reluctant to leave. Looking forward to the next encounter with it, to explore its endless mysteries again.

Wudang Mountain Travel Diary: A Celestial Wonderland, Tracing Ancient Charm
Date: May 8, 2024
Weather: Clear with occasional misty clouds
Mood: Peaceful and far-reaching, with a sense of liberation and joy
In the morning, facing the rising sun, I embarked on my journey to Wudang Mountain. After a two-hour drive, transitioning from the bustling city to the green mountains and waters, my mood became relaxed. Upon reaching the foot of the mountain, the majestic peaks of Wudang Mountain came into view, unfolding like a scroll of ink painting, compelling one to slow down involuntarily.
The Start of the Mountain Climbing Journey
After purchasing a ticket at the mountain gate, I chose to take the scenic shuttle bus. The mountain roads became steeper as we ascended, with the scenery along the way picturesque, the verdant trees and peculiar rocks scattered in harmony. Reaching Longquan Temple, I began to climb on foot, each step on the historical stone steps, feeling the vicissitudes and accumulation of thousands of years.
The Awe at the Summit of Golden Top
As I climbed higher, the surrounding scenery became more magnificent. Standing on the summit of the Golden Top, looking down at the tumbling sea of clouds and the mountains in the distance, it felt as if I was in a fairyland. The Golden Temple shone brilliantly in the sunlight, its solemnity and sanctity inspiring awe. This scene, my first summit of 2024, became an indelible memory in my heart.
The Serenity and Simplicity of Nanyan Palace
In the afternoon, I visited Nanyan Palace, where the architecture is cleverly integrated with the mountain, blending into nature. The ancient trees inside the palace reach for the sky, and the incense smoke curls up, giving a sense of tranquility that transcends the mundane world. Standing in front of the Dragon Head Incense, looking at the overhanging cliff, I couldn't help but admire the wisdom and courage of the ancients.
The Ancient Path and Legends of Taizi Slope
On the way down the mountain, I made a detour to Taizi Slope. The ancient architectural complex here is well-preserved, with a rustic charm emanating from the red walls and green tiles. Walking on the bluestone path, each stone seemed to tell stories of the past, about the legends of the Wudang sect and the mysteries of Wudang martial arts, leading to endless reverie.
Overnight Stay at the Foot of the Mountain, Endless Memories
As night fell, I chose to rest at a guesthouse at the foot of the mountain. Dinner was authentic Hubei cuisine, with steaming dishes that dispelled the fatigue of the journey. Chatting by the stove, I talked with the landlord about the ancient legends and modern stories of Wudang Mountain. This experience made the trip not just a visual feast but also a spiritual purification.
Ending the day's itinerary, lying in bed, the sound of the wind in the mountains and the tolling of the temple bells still echoed in my mind. Wudang Mountain, with your tranquility, mystery, and magnificence, you have helped me find inner peace and strength. Looking forward to tomorrow, I will continue to explore more miracles and beauty in this celestial mountain.

An unparalleled scenic wonder since ancient times - Wudang
Wudang Mountain is acclaimed as 'an unparalleled scenic wonder since ancient times, the number one immortal mountain in the world.' It is not only a famous Taoist sanctuary in China but also the birthplace of Tai Chi. Wudang Mountain is located within the territory of Danjiangkou City in the northwestern part of Hubei Province, bordering Xiangyang City to the east, Shiyan City to the west, looking south to Shennongjia, and north to the Danjiangkou Reservoir. The area boasts not only peculiar and splendid natural landscapes but also a rich and colorful cultural heritage.
The name of Wudang Mountain comes from its majestic terrain, known as 'all four famous mountains bow down, and the five sacred peaks face towards it in homage,' meaning that Wudang Mountain is the 'crown of the five great mountains.' The natural scenery on the mountain is predominantly majestic, with characteristics of being 'precarious, secluded, and elegant.' The main body of Wudang Mountain is composed of metamorphic rocks, recording nearly 1.8 billion years of geological changes, making it a natural museum for studying metamorphic geomorphology.
Wudang Mountain is also the birthplace of Wudang martial arts, famous for its 'internal kung fu' and mentioned in the same breath as Shaolin, with the saying 'the north venerates Shaolin, the south respects Wudang.' Wudang martial arts emphasize using stillness to control motion and the harmony of yin and yang, which positively affects self-cultivation, health, and fitness. The ancient architectural complex of Wudang Mountain, with its grand and magnificent, mystical and marvelous, serene and elegant style, embodies the perfect combination of royal palaces, Taoism, and gardens. In 1994, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.
In addition, Wudang Mountain has a very rich resource of medicinal plants, known as a 'natural pharmacy,' with a large number of rare herbs, providing valuable resources for the development of traditional medicine. Therefore, Wudang Mountain is not only an important place for Taoist faith and martial arts practice but also a precious treasure of natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Wudang sacred realm open 24 hours
Self-driving cars can be parked at the Wudang Mountain gate parking lot, which is very spacious, so there's no worry about finding a spot; from the Wudang Mountain West high-speed train station, you can take a bus to the mountain gate for 2 yuan, payable with WeChat.
The two-day itinerary: Arriving at the Wudang Mountain gate at 3 pm. After buying tickets, take a scenic area bus for 20 minutes to Taizi Slope, then change buses to Qiongtai. The bus speeds through the mountains, and soon the towering Wudang peaks come into view.
The Qiongtai cable car goes straight up to the Golden Summit. In the afternoon, there are only people coming down, and there are very few going up by cable car, so you can have a whole car to yourself. After getting off at the cable car station, it's a ten-minute climb to the Golden Summit. After paying respects at the Golden Temple and finding the golden bricks, I started descending towards Nanyan Palace.
From the Golden Summit to Nanyan Palace, you can take either the Ming Shen Dao or Qing Shen Dao. Ming Shen Dao has more scenic spots but is steep with many ups and downs, while Qing Shen Dao, which was obviously built later, is gentler and suitable for a midnight rush to see the sunrise.
Overnight at Nanyan Palace, there are many guesthouses and homestays. Rooms facing the east cliff may have the chance to see a sea of clouds at sunrise.
The next morning, I visited Nanyan Palace, saw the peach wood sword and dragon head incense, took a round trip to Langmei Temple, and then returned to Nanyan Palace to take the scenic area bus to Zixiao Palace. Zixiao Palace is the largest comprehensive Taoist architectural complex in Wudang Mountain, with a majestic presence.
The last stop was back to Taizi Slope, also known as Fuzhen Temple, where we had changed buses the day before. Along the way, there were many monkeys, the winding Nine-Turn Yellow River Wall, the architectural gem Wuyun Tower, and the aptly named Taizi Reading Hall, each one a masterpiece.
At 4 pm, I returned to the Wudang Mountain gate, ending the 24-hour Wudang journey perfectly.

Hubei, Shiyan, Wudang Mountains
Taoist famous mountain, the birthplace of Wudang martial arts, national-level ancient buildings include the Purple Cloud Palace, South Cliff Palace, Taihe Palace, Yuzhen Palace, etc.
Taking the elderly, we chose the most effortless way to enter the scenic area at 10 am on Monday. We took the ferry bus and cableway, and it still required an hour's climb to reach the Golden Temple. If time allows, you can visit South Cliff and Purple Cloud Palace the next day for a more leisurely and relaxed experience.
Today, the temperature at Wudang Mountains is suitable, a windbreaker plus a sweatshirt is enough. The scenic area is well-developed, with food and beverages for sale everywhere, and there's even a free admission event recently.

The Golden Summit of Wudang Mountain has withstood six hundred years of wind and rain, its candlelight never extinguished
The Wudang Mountains, located in the northwestern region of Shiyan City, Hubei Province, also known as the Great Yue Taihe Mountain, rank first among the four famous Taoist mountains in China. It is the birthplace of the Wudang sect and Tai Chi founded by the ancestor Zhang Sanfeng. Wudang Mountain boasts 72 peaks in the Central Plains, with a majestic presence, and is the place where the True Warrior Emperor (Xuanwu Emperor) of the ancient Xuanyuan period practiced and attained enlightenment. As the eighty-second transformation of the Supreme Laozi, the emperor was revered and worshipped by people in ancient times, and there was already a history of building and worshipping immortal mountain buildings in the clouds during the Tang Dynasty's Zhenguan era.
The beams and caisson ceilings inside the hall are adorned with intricate patterns. A gilded pearl, known as the 'Wind-Avoiding Immortal Pearl,' hangs from the caisson, ensuring that the sacred lamp inside the hall remains forever lit. Thus, there is the candlelight in front of the bronze statue of the True Warrior Emperor inside the hall that has been burning for over 600 years, as well as the 'Heavenly Thunder Refining Hall' spectacle.

The sacred paths of Mount Wudang ascend and descend
Mount Wudang is a famous Taoist mountain and the birthplace of Wudang martial arts, known as 'an unparalleled scenic spot since ancient times, the number one immortal mountain in the world.' The emperor bestowed the titles 'Grand Peak' and 'Mysterious Peak of the Governing Age' upon Mount Wudang, and it is revered as the 'Imperial Family Temple.' Mount Wudang is world-famous for its status as 'the crown of the Five Sacred Mountains,' where 'all four famous mountains bow and pay respects, and the five directional sacred peaks gather to worship.' To ascend the mountain, you take a bus to Qiongtai, then a cable car to the Golden Summit. There are too many pilgrims at the Golden Summit, and many people draw lots, so I immediately descend the mountain and sit by the city wall at the city gate to wait for people. To enjoy the view, I walk down the mountain by myself, passing through the first, second, and third mountain gates. The steps are very steep, an endless loop of ascending and descending. The number of steps going down is the same as going up. In ancient times, these sacred paths must have been a required course for those with martial arts skills, which I admire. Upon reaching Nanyan, I take a bus to the Zixiao Palace, no longer having the energy to climb, and take a car back, spending a total of 5 hours.

Blessings from the Fairy Mountain|When I approach Wudang Mountain from Jin Yong's writings
Who hasn't indulged in the martial arts dream woven by Jin Yong in their youth? 'The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber' is indeed the youth of our generation. Taking advantage of the New Year, I came to Wudang Mountain to pray for blessings, and to see the Taoist fairy mountain in the book⛰️~ Wudang Mountain is also the origin of Taoism, and the Wudang culture is profound and can cultivate one's morality and nature.
On the way up the mountain, I met many tourists praying for the New Year, and everyone also has their own understanding of Wudang Mountain! You can choose to travel by sightseeing car and cable car✅
The Prince's Slope, Nanyan, and Zixiao Palace on Wudang Mountain also have their origins. The 15-year-old prince of Jing Le Guo was enlightened by his master Ziqi Yuanjun and practiced on Wudang Mountain, so this slope is called the Prince's Slope.
Zixiao Palace was built by Song Huizong to pray for the blessing of the water god, and to pray for the country. It backs on the mountain and faces the water source, and the ancient Chinese Feng Shui concept is embodied here.
Nanyan, as the most beautiful rock among the 36 rocks of Wudang, is located to the north of the Golden Summit. It is said that it was the place where Zhenwu practiced for 42 years and ascended. It has always been revered as a holy place by Taoists, with beautiful peaks and spectacular scenery. Nanyan Palace is also known as the 'Great Saint Nanyan Palace'. The construction of Nanyan Palace began in 1313 and took 27 years to complete. The Empress Dowager named it 'Tianyi Zhenqing Palace', which became a Taoist place specifically for the emperor to pray for blessings and longevity.
Wudang's food is also unique, and there are many roadside snacks to check in. The sense of happiness is bursting, and this blessing trip is perfectly concluded🎉, let's gather blessings at Wudang in the New Year🧧~

Wudang Mountain, the aura of heaven and earth
Wudang Mountain, stretching for 800 miles, its natural scenery is mainly majestic, but also has the characteristics of danger, strangeness, seclusion, and beauty. Since the Yuan Dynasty, there have been 72 peaks, 36 rocks, 24 streams, 11 caves, 3 pools, 9 springs, 10 stones, 9 wells, 10 pools, 9 platforms, etc. The main peak, Tianzhu Peak, is 1612 meters above sea level, like a golden and jade pillar standing tall in the sky, standing at the top of the peaks. The surrounding mountains, sloping towards the main peak from all directions, form the unique natural wonder of 'seventy-two peaks facing the top, twenty-four streams flowing long'. day❶:

Taizi Slope: The most photogenic spot in Wudang Mountain, with red walls and black tiles, carved beams and painted buildings, fully embodying the Taoist 'quiet and effortless'.
Zixiao Palace: The only double-eave Xieshan-style wooden structure hall preserved in Wudang Mountain, with many precious cultural relics, suitable for 1-2 hours of play.
Nanyan: The most beautiful place among the 36 rocks of Wudang Mountain. It takes 15-20 minutes to walk from the scenic bus to Nanyan Palace. Behind the main hall of Nanyan Palace, Xuandi Hall, you can get close to the cliff carvings from hundreds of years ago.
⚠️It takes about two hours to climb from Nanyan to Fenjinling. The mountain road is basically steps, so protect your knees.
There are many homestays on the mountain, distributed in Nanyan, Fenjinling, the top of the mountain, etc., you can choose according to your needs (if you plan to watch the sunrise, it is recommended to stay in the homestay in Fenjinling, which is closer to the Golden Top)

The golden plaque in the hall reads 'Golden Light and Wonderful Appearance', which is the imperial pen of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. Wudang Mountain
Note: Wudang Mountain tickets are valid for 3 days (suitable for this long play time)
I only played for one day, didn't make a good strategy, and got off the bus at Taizipo
Suggestion: Take the bus directly to Nanyan and then you can start climbing to the Golden Summit (we have girls who stopped and climbed for 4 hours, and the Ming Shen Dao we walked was very steep)
Taizipo Zixiao Palace can go down the mountain to play again, because we went to these two places first, we couldn't catch the downhill cable car, after going up, we really couldn't come down, the cable car said it was 4 pm, but it will depend on the situation! (I think it will be dangerous to go down the mountain, it was very steep when I went up, the stairs are like right angles, some of them, it is easy to slip when going down the mountain, it is recommended to climb up, take the cable car down)

The renowned religious holy land 'Wudang Mountain'
My calf still hurts, making it inconvenient to walk. Thinking about climbing Wudang Mountain today, I was inactive all day yesterday, either sitting or lying down. I started climbing from Nanyan, passing through the Ming Shen Dao, which is the steepest part of the mountain road. Afraid of hurting my leg again, I climbed very slowly, stepping very firmly! I have read many travel notes on the Internet before, and they all say that the journey is hard, which is really exaggerated. If a person exercises a little bit usually, climbing Wudang Mountain is not difficult. The key to climbing is to walk up at a constant speed without interruption. Even if you rest halfway, try to stand as much as possible, and the time should not be too long. Once you sit down, you will feel extremely tired when you get up. In addition, when climbing up, don't always look at how far the mountain road is, but just focus on the stone steps in front of your feet, pay attention to your breathing, in this way, you can easily leave the steep mountain road behind. If you enter the scenic area at 7:30 in the morning, it is no problem to finish visiting at three or four in the afternoon. I left the scenic area after one o'clock in the afternoon. One is that I didn't eat lunch inside; the other is that I took the cable car down the mountain. It's still because my leg hasn't recovered well, it's okay to go up the mountain, but it's impossible to go down the mountain! The cable car is 80 yuan one way, 150 yuan round trip, and the entrance ticket to the mountain is 259 yuan.
When visiting the temples in the mountain, I felt that the old cultural relics of Wudang Mountain were well protected. I wondered how they escaped the devastation of the Cultural Revolution? Later, when I looked up the information, I realized that I was wrong. In April 1955, in order to 'increase local fiscal revenue' and 'find ways to tap potential', the People's Committee of Jun County, Hubei Province, led by the County Culture Department, went to the 14 palaces and temples of Wudang Mountain to destroy the statues under the name of 'collecting waste copper', and got 48,000 jin of copper. Later, in March and April 1956, led by the secretary of the County People's Committee, they went up to Wudang Mountain again to 'collect copper', and destroyed 201 statues in 21 palaces and temples in 48 days, and got 20,200 jin of copper. Although there were protests from Taoist people and the stop of Xiangyang Prefecture, the staff of the County Culture Department did not stop their actions according to the instructions of the Prefecture. What is even more surprising is that similar incidents did not only occur after the liberation, but before the liberation, the 51st Division of the Kuomintang also 'confiscated' the temple property of Wudang Mountain, smashed statues and utensils, destroyed cultural relics, and destroyed the iron chains of the stone paths. During the Anti-Japanese War, when the headquarters of the Fifth War Zone of the Kuomintang and the Eighth Branch of the Army Officer School were stationed in various palaces and temples of Wudang Mountain, they 'eliminated superstition and eradicated idols', randomly demolished palaces and temples, smashed clay and wood statues, and transported about several hundred thousand jin of copper statues and utensils to the ordnance factory. Today, we can still appreciate these surviving cultural relics, and we really have to thank Mr. Zheng Zhenduo for his strong resistance at that time.
The scenery of Wudang Mountain is beautiful, and the temples and old stone roads are simple and charming, which is really worth a visit!

Wudang: A journey through the fairyland of history
✨ Finally set foot on the legendary Wudang Mountain, I can't help but exclaim: This is indeed a fairyland built by 300,000 troops! Departing from Wuhan, it only takes two hours by high-speed rail to arrive, and the train station is almost the last stop in front of the mountain gate, which is extremely convenient.
✨ There are countless strategies for Wudang Mountain, but the most core one is: live on the mountain! The accommodation choices on the mountain are abundant, from Taizipo to Xiaoyaogu, from Zixiao Palace to Nanyan Palace, to Qiongtai and Jinding, every corner is full of historical traces. Not only that, there are also many small scenic spots and ancient sites, such as Chaoshengmen, Santianmen, and Ertianmen, each of which is worth exploring carefully. The large-scale construction ordered by Emperor Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty makes every brick and tile here seem extraordinarily solemn.
✨ When visiting Wudang Mountain, you will first pass through the bustling Wudang Golden Street, where various shops are gathered, and the tourist service center is also located here. From here, you can easily reach all important scenic spots except Jinding by bus. If you want to take a cable car, you need to go to Qiongtai Station, and hiking usually starts from Nanyan, passing through Langmei Shrine, Huanglong Cave, Baibu Ladder, Chaotian Palace, and then you can choose Ming Shen Road or Qing Shen Road. There are many ancient sites on the Ming Shen Road, and the Qing Shen Road is relatively quiet. Most tourists will choose the former to go up the mountain and the latter to go down the mountain.
✨ If time permits, you might as well go to the Wudang Mountain Museum first. The collections here are rich and the explanations are detailed. After understanding these background knowledge, you will have a deeper understanding and feeling of every scene in front of you.
✨ If economic conditions permit, the best place to stay is Jinding. I booked a special room in Jinding VIP Building on a certain trip, and the price of 500 yuan is super cost-effective. The next morning, it only takes ten minutes to reach Jinding. The location is simply incomparable. The magnificent sunset and the magical sunrise are so beautiful that people are intoxicated. After visiting Jinding, you can choose to hike down the mountain to Nanyan, and the scenery along the way is also beautiful.
✨ In short, Wudang Mountain is not only a scenic spot, but also a living history textbook. Every visit is a baptism of the soul, and every exploration is a tribute to history.
