#Waldorf Astoria Beijing Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Red is in the air
The Spring Festival is a great time to experience the traditional Chinese atmosphere. If you are in Beijing, have already visited the main attractions, walked around the hutongs, then you can still go to 5-star hotels. There are beautiful red decorations in the lobby, you can admire the art and take some photos. If you are on Wangfujin Road, then you have about 6 hotels. No need to take a taxi, you can walk this distance from hotel to hotel on foot. And if it's cold, you can have a cup of coffee in the lobby of one of the hotels. My list:
1. The Regent Beijing
2. Legendale hotel
3. The Peninsula
4. Waldorf Astoria Beijing
5. Hilton
6. Grand Hyatt at Oriental Plaza
You can easily find all hotels on the map by name.

Savoring the Luminous Hue of an Ancient City | Waldorf Astoria Beijing
Even as time ebbs and flows, the charm of Beijing remains unaltered. Similarly, there exists a place that seems to stand still in time - the Waldorf Astoria Beijing, serenading its unique tapestry amidst the changing seasons.
Upon first encounter, the hotel's exterior exudes an irresistible allure. The dazzling all-bronze architecture, coupled with the iconic Beijing courtyard, captivates the eye. Venturing within, meticulously curated decor arrests the gaze, where a rich blend of classical charm and modern elegance permeates the air.
Push open the door to your courtyard suite, where elegance in design and modern amenities abound... A testament to Waldorf Astoria's warm and meticulous hospitality. The soft, warm glow intertwines with the natural light streaming in from the windows. Cradle a cup of fragrant tea, step into the spacious and serene courtyard. Extend your gaze, take in the past and present, and immerse yourself in the authentic Beijing charm. I believe, this tranquil ambiance heralds a fulfilling journey.
Under the gentle afternoon sun, grace the Yi Ting. Savor the creative POP MART Zodiac Afternoon Tea, where a variety of snacks and desserts reveal a multitude of adorable figures. Experience the charm born from the collision of trendy art and luxurious living on your taste buds. Embark on a delightful journey that satisfies from mouth to heart. As dusk falls, heighten the evening's ceremonial sense with a romantic French dinner. In the tranquil dining environment of Peacock Alley 1893, savor each flavor, and spend your time well.
At the Waldorf Astoria Beijing, stand on tiptoe and peek into the long-missed leisurely life. Say hello.

【Scenery🍃】
On the second floor, there is a deconstructed Chinese chair, titled "Deconstruction," by Shao Fan, a master of cross-disciplinary art and design. This artwork, themed around a Chinese chair, is both a sculpture and a piece of conceptual art, yet it retains the characteristics of furniture. In an era without blueprints, craftsmen relied on experience and imagination, using mortise and tenon joints to complete the chair, demonstrating the wisdom of Chinese furniture making.
-
In the elevator lobby on the second floor, there are four eye-catching Buddha heads. The artist, Yang Maoyuan, used classic marble sculptures as prototypes, grinding the stone into a round shape, creating a serene and solemn aura in the halo.
-
【Design💎】
The hotel features a spiral staircase connecting the first and second floors. The walls are decorated with silk cloth, hand-painted with numerous ginkgo leaves. The floor is made of Brazilian marble containing copper sand, giving a high-end color scheme.
-
The courtyard is dominated by vermilion, with gray bricks and tiles, gold line Suzhou paintings, and bright red lacquer decorations, creating an imposing and balanced atmosphere. The four guests in the east courtyard share a large central courtyard. In the northwest corner of the courtyard, there is a "secret passage" connected to the main building.
【Rooms🏨】
The main building houses a 70㎡ 270-degree VIP view room, which is the fourth tier room type in the main building, with the same area as the luxury suite. The difference lies mainly in the layout. This corner room has a more spacious layout, and the 270-degree view makes it one of the most popular room types in the hotel.
-
Although it is designed as a studio suite, the work and rest areas are simply divided. The Chinese-style desk and the tea table leisure area located in the corner of the room are my favorites. Many beautiful photos are taken at this spot!
-
【Restaurant🍴】
Every Waldorf Astoria has a Peacock Alley, which is also located on the first floor. It originated from the corridor connecting the Waldorf and Astoria hotels in New York.
-
When I visited, they had a joint edition with Steiff Teddy Bear. I had already got one at the Waldorf Astoria in Shanghai, so this time I made a pair! By the way, the afternoon tea at Peacock Alley has now changed to a Bunny's Spring Party theme.

Waldorf Astoria Beijing | Suite Check-in
| Suite Check-in. For my five-day, four-night stay in Beijing, I chose the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. The hotel is well-located, right across from Wangfujing
A bit further ahead is the Forbidden City
On the first day of my stay, I encountered a stunning sunset🌇
With the hotel's floor-to-ceiling windows
I quickly snapped a couple of photos📷

Breakfast was somewhat ordinary
Neither the buffet nor the menu items were particularly tasty
From what I recall, I think the tastiest was the waffle🫓 which had to be ordered separately from the menu

The least girlish Christmas tree: Waldorf Hotel Lobby
The jellycat Christmas tree that has been all over the internet, it was a few years ago, every year

The quality of Waldorf is as always, absolutely satisfying all your needs for luxury
In 1896, Li Hongzhang, a diplomat of the Qing Dynasty, stayed at the Waldorf Hotel in New York, becoming the first Chinese guest of the hotel. The Waldorf Hotel in Beijing is located in the center of the capital, with 176 rooms. It opened in February this year, not far from Li's former residence. This is Waldorf's second branch in Asia, and a branch was opened on the Bund in Shanghai three years ago.
Design
The deep bronze grille designed by AS+GG in Chicago makes this 12-story building look like a sparkling jewel box. The interior design of the hotel was designed by American design master Yabu Pushelberg.
Rooms
The layout and design of the rooms are very humanized. Their beds are very comfortable among the many five-star hotels I visited last year. The mattress is very high, and it is soft and soft to lie on, which is very helpful for sleep. The facilities in the room are also very complete. The bathroom will prepare a disposable bath bag, which is clean and hygienic, which is very considerate. The room comes with a sofa rest area, in addition to the regular drinks and alcohol, it also prepares a lot of data lines, stereo sound and other equipment for travelers.
Food
The Waldorf in Beijing has three restaurants, each of which has a Yi Ting (Peacock Corridor) that every Waldorf has, a French-style Iris Palace 1893, and a Michelin one-star Zijin Pavilion. The Zijin Pavilion should be considered one of the most cost-effective Michelins in Beijing, and there are so many dishes that you have to lean against the wall to leave the store. There is also the famous red velvet afternoon tea, which is enough to satisfy your picky taste buds! The two ancient trees of Sophora japonica at the door, strong and green, looking out, the food is more fragrant, haha, the hotel also provides room dining service, lazy people's welfare!
Facilities
The Waldorf Hotel Spa Center provides a variety of healing therapy services to bring you a relaxing and pleasant leisure experience. There are 7 private spa suites, including 2 double hydrotherapy rooms. Each treatment room is equipped with a private steam room, shower room and dressing room. Guests can exercise in the fitness center equipped with advanced aerobic exercise and weight training fitness equipment, or relax in the indoor warm water swimming pool equipped with a whirlpool tub.
Service
I have to say that the hotel service of Waldorf is online. From the moment you enter the hotel, you can feel the enthusiasm and intention of the hotel service staff. The efficiency of check-in is also very fast. When you check out and leave, there are staff members who kindly send water and small desserts for guests to eat on the road. These small details are very warm.

Experiencing Elegance and Entertainment at Wa
My recent two-night stay at the Waldorf Hotel in Beijing was a truly luxurious and enchanting experience that surpassed all expectations. From the moment I stepped into the opulent lobby to the time I reluctantly bid farewell, every aspect of my stay exuded sophistication, comfort, and indulgence.
The hallmark of my stay was the awe-inspiring luxury decoration that graced every corner of the Waldorf Hotel. The blend of classic elegance and modern touches created an atmosphere that was both timeless and inviting. The attention to detail was evident in every nook and cranny, from the intricate chandeliers that illuminated the grand entrance to the meticulously designed furnishings that adorned the spacious rooms. Each room seemed like a private sanctuary, complete with plush bedding, high-end amenities, and a view that captured the essence of Beijing's dynamic cityscape.
One of the standout features of the Waldorf Hotel was its impeccable bar scene. The hotel's bars offered an array of carefully crafted cocktails, fine wines, and spirits that catered to even the most discerning connoisseurs. The sophisticated ambiance of the bars made them the perfect setting for unwinding after a day of exploration or for enjoying an evening of leisurely conversation with friends. The talented bartenders not only concocted exquisite beverages but also added an element of entertainment as they passionately shared stories behind each creation.
The Waldorf Hotel's prime location further added to the allure of my stay. Nestled in the heart of Beijing, it served as an ideal base for exploring the city's iconic landmarks and cultural treasures. The convenience of reaching attractions like the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and the Wangfujing shopping district within a short distance was a valuable aspect that saved both time and energy.
In conclusion, my experience at the Waldorf Hotel in Beijing was a true indulgence in luxury and sophistication. The hotel's remarkable decoration and attention to detail transported me to a world of refined elegance, where every moment felt like a celebration. The vibrant bar scene added a touch of excitement to the evenings, and the hotel's strategic location ensured that I could make the most of my time in this captivating city. If you're seeking an unforgettable blend of opulence, convenience, and entertainment, the Waldorf Hotel in Beijing should undoubtedly be at the top of your list.

stay at the Waldorf Astoria Beijing.
If you pass by Wangfujing Street, you can see this all-copper cubic building, which is very eye-catching.
Someone once said, "The place in the world that receives the most heads of state, besides Buckingham Palace in the UK, is the Waldorf Astoria Hotel." In the late 19th century, the Astor family, one of the wealthiest families in the US at the time, built a building in the best location in New York, which became the starting point for the Waldorf Astoria brand. For more than a hundred years, this top-tier brand hotel under Hilton has only opened more than 30 hotels.
If you want to seek a windy place, then experience the Beijing Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
