Song Fa Bak Kut Teh
In Singapore, there are two variants of Bak Kut Teh (Pork Ribs Soup). One is the Hokkien darker broth herbal soup which is popular in Malaysia, the other is Teochew clearer and lighter broth peppery soup. Song Fa Bak Kut Teh is the later, where you can taste the original sweetness in pork ribs, and the peppery soup will keep your body warm, it is especially good to eat during rainy days, soup is free refill.
The meat was so tender and flavorful. You can eat the meat without sauce or dip into dark soy sauce with chili padi. Yum!!
The side dishes were really good too. You Tiao (fried dough) is a must order. It was crispy outside and meant to be dipped into the soup before eating. I also like the Ngoh Hiang (fried sausage-like roll). It was served with special Thai chili sauce.

This popular Chinese restaurant is located at the East Wing side of Waterway Point @ level 1, just beside Sushi Express.
Song Fa Bak Kut Teh is a very well established name on the local food scene as well as internationally for their signature clear bak kut teh or slow cooked pork ribs soup simmered with a blend of herbs, garlic and pepper. Love the peppery soup and you can taste the riches of the broth.
Other signature must try dishes include the pork trotters in vinegar and dark soya sauce as well as my all time favourite of braised large intestines. Well cooked trotter meat that is easy to eat and simply love the springy intestines in my mouth without any after taste.
Remember to eat with dark soya sauce and cut chilli padi !
During peak hours, expect a super long queue by local bak kut teh lovers as well as Chinese tourists who make Song Fa a popular MustVisit pit stop in their Singapore travels just to try their pork ribs soup. If you can't wait, I suggest you order for takeaway or online delivery and enjoy the food in the comfort of your own home like I did lol.
Do give them a try if you are into bak kut teh ! Highly recommended !
