Don't chase the whales! That's the number one rule in our orientation in the Oslob Whaleshark watching tours. The orientation is the guide in order to protect the whales and to have our experience in a smooth flow. As nearly as close proximity to them, this experience is one of a kind. It's been the highlight of my Oslob trip. But this experience requires every visitors to be responsible one. Don't touch the whales or chase them.
When was the last time you encountered such ones in a lifetime experience? I am glad to have one recently.
Hoping in 2023 I will be able to travel in South Korea and Japan. That would be a one's in kind experience too for sure.

Great experience, indeed!
This was my first time travelling to the south of Cebu. This was taken last year end of 2020. I so love being with the whalesharks although my hand was almost swallowed by one of them.

First of all the place is very far from Cebu City, perhaps if you are staying at Oslob would be better. Had to wake up at 3am to travel here. Once here everything is so hectic and so sudden. Brief introductions by the 'officials' (no one listens to, everyone is busy talking to each other and taking selfies). Once that you are crammed into small boats for a 5 minutes ride from the beach. Once offshore you are then told to jump to the water to experience the whale shark.

It is best to watch the whale shark time in the morning. Generally, the whale shark will not be able to come out after eating in the afternoon.
Small black boating to send us to the snorkeling point, it will be less than ten minutes after listening to the staff to pay attention to matters, life jackets and glasses are free.
Snorkeling price is 1000 pesos/person, the deep dive price is about 2800 pesos/person, the price of the boat is not 500 pesos/person, and the time is about 30-40 minutes.
We bought a snorkeling ticket in the hall, put on their life jackets and frog mirrors, and sat in a small black boat to watch the points.
I buried my head in the water, and soon I saw a whale shark swimming to us. The first time I saw such a big animal, I was so excited that I couldnt.
There is a small black dedicated to feeding, rowing a boat, putting food into the sea, and the whale sharks are foraging behind the boat. The
whale shark is much bigger than I thought. Every time I pass this big monster, my heart is both nervous and excited.

The town of Tan-awan was originally a small fishing village. A few years ago, whale sharks were found in the shallow sea nearby. Later, the villagers fed whale sharks. The whale sharks used to come here for food every day, forming a pattern similar to "free-range". The whale shark here is very gentle, so don't be afraid. We set off from Dumaguete in the morning and came to the whale watching spot to see the sea full of crab boats. Due to the large number of tourists, it is necessary to queue up for the ship. I finally waited for 15 minutes and finally arrived at us! Sitting on the crab boat, I began to look forward to where the whale shark whale is. I didn't go far in the direction of the boatman and saw a big mouth open on the water! Very close! The boatman will stop in the same row as the other crab boats. Everyone can snorkel and swim with the whale shark within the scope of their own boat! But can't touch him! See it swims close to you, you have to take the initiative to escape. When this behemoth appears in front of you, you will not be afraid at all, just want to get close to it. The whole time of whale watching is half an hour. There are 2 or 3 boatmen in each boat to take the initiative to help you take pictures. We have 7 people in one boat. If you give him some tips, he will certainly take more pictures for you. Children who can't swim can go to watch, because the whale shark will surface and enjoy the underwater. You can see the cute big whale shark sitting on the crab boat.
There are also some travel agencies that have a day trip to Whale Shark and Sumilong Island. If you have a buffet lunch at Sumilon Island, each person will be around RMB 600. It also includes hotel transfers and full transportation.

Oslob Oslob snorkeling and whale shark dance
Oslob was originally a bland town, but full of vitality and world-famous for a visit to a behemoth. The whale shark, the world's largest fish, survives here. It is a must-see experience to experience the sea creatures with a body weight of more than 10 meters and a weight of 40 tons. In the course of the experience, the boatman can help with the whale shark and leave a unique memory in the deep sea.
tips: It takes about 3 hours from the city to get to the whale shark in Oslob. It needs to go out early in the morning. Because there are too many people watching whale sharks, after arriving at the destination, they will follow the guide arrangement, pick up the number, and wait for the number to line up. Snorkeling supplies and life jackets are issued in the queue. During the peak season, waiting in line for a long time, please listen carefully to the number, always stand with your team members, don't leave without permission~~

Oslob is located in the southern part of Cebu in the Philippines. It is famous for its whale sharks, so people from all over the world gather here to see them. Although the Whale Shark is huge, it is gentle and lovely. They only open their mouths to prey on plankton and small fish, so there is no reason to be afraid of them. It is not wise to swim too close to them as there is a change you may be hit by one of their large tail fins. Whale sharks don’t have many natural enemies and the main reason for their decline is human whaling. When caught, the flesh of the whale shark is eaten and their fins are sometimes cut to make shark fin dishes. The whale sharks need our protection.

Swimming with whale sharks!!
Truly a once in a lifetime experience where we took a small boat out, wearing life jackets and our snorkelling gear, into the open sea. After about 5-10mins, the boat stopped and we were asked to get into the sea and that was when we got to swim these gigantic beautiful creatures. They were super close to us and we got to see them being fed and swimming freely in the sea. We rented go pros where the staff kindly helped us to take pictures and videos so that we could have this memory brought home with us. Fantastic experience!!!
