Spring arrives at Pear Blossom Creek
In the first lunar month, people start to push the flower viewing schedule for the suburbs of Chengdu on their mobile phones, mentioning that the end of February to the beginning of April is the best time to view pear blossoms in Xinjin.
Now it is mid-March, and I'm afraid the pear blossoms have already bloomed. There's no time to delay, so I take action immediately.
In the morning, I send my granddaughter to school, then take bus 57 to Taipingyuan, transfer to Metro Line 10 to Wujin, get out of the metro and transfer to bus 522, and about 1 hour and 40 minutes later, I arrive at Pear Blossom Creek bus station.
The bus station is 2.5 kilometers away from Pear Blossom Creek Scenic Area. I walk, look around, and take photos along the way, which takes about 40 minutes.
Pear Blossom Creek Scenic Area is located between Liyuan Village of Yongshang Town, Ma'an Village, and Wenfeng Village of Dengshuang Town in Xinjin District, Chengdu. It is 36.5 kilometers away from the main urban area of Chengdu and 3 kilometers away from the government seat of Xinjin District.
This is a primitive forest that has not been deliberately planned, covering an area of more than 9,000 acres. It is the largest natural scenic area closest to a metropolis in the western Sichuan Plain. It is said that the older generation planted pear trees for their own consumption, and over time, they connected into patches, forming a certain scale.
Deep in the forest, there are two clear ponds lying across, with a dirt road in the middle, and two or three blooming pear trees standing quietly by the pond. A gust of wind blows, scattering petals like snow, and a sweet fragrance wafts through the air.
There are several hundred-year-old peach trees by the main road, bent and hunched, full of vicissitudes, as if they are telling tourists about the storms they have experienced.
There are many varieties of pear trees, tall and short, big and small, with early and late blooming periods.
Those that bloom early, each tree is topped with clusters of snow-white pear blossoms, like tufts of clouds, rolling and floating lightly. From a distance, it is a vast expanse of white, spectacular, and filled with a strong poetic and picturesque atmosphere.
The late bloomers, already full of buds on the branches, only need a few days of high temperature, and overnight they will reveal their fragrant pistils, transforming into a world as if carved from ice and jade.
Whether they bloom early or late, the pear blossoms will always arrive as promised, leaving behind beautiful images and scattering fragrance throughout the entire spring.
