🇳🇿 Lake Tekapo,New Zealand for stargazing🌟
#wheretogo
When we heard of Lake Tekapo, New Zealand, only two things came into our minds - stargazing and hotspring. This spot is very photogenic both day and night. It is also art of a UNESCO Dark Sky Reserve, making it the perfect spot for stargazing. During the day, we looked from the beautiful Church of the Good Shepherd across the turquoise coloured lake to the mountainous drama of the Southern Alps. The scenery was stunning!I would advised to get there early in the morning as crowds started to come in the late morning. The legendary night sky in Lake Tekapo offers the perfect opprtunity to spot stars. It is something that we can hardly do in other countries.#timetotravel #newzealand #stargazing
Situated on the shores of Lake Takapō amongst the natural beauty of the lake and the mountains, the Church of the Good Shepherd was built to the glory of God and as a memorial to the pioneers of the Mackenzie Country.
Picturesque by day and dazzling by night, Lake Tekapo is part of a UNESCO Dark Sky Reserve, making it the perfect spot for stargazing.
Definitely a must go place when you are travelling to NZ South Island!

The Icons of South Island, New Zealand
Lake Tekapo- This is probably one of the most visited tourist attraction in New Zealand, and that is because it is really an amazing place to be in.
Located at South West of Christchurch in the Mackenzie Basin, Lake Tekapo is a 3 hours scenic drive away from Christchurch. The beauty of Lake Tekapo comes from its crystal blue/turquoise coloured lake, next to the giant mountains in the region. It is no wonder why this place is such a popular place among photographers.
A huge highlight would be the Lupins, where the whole Lake Tekapo will be bloomed with it during the Spring to summer season.
Next to it, is the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd. Being situated right next to the beautiful Lake Tekapo, it becomes a perfect photo spot due to how everything just looks perfectly fitting to each other. Stay for the night, and you can even take an epic photo of the church together with the Milky Way during a good weather.
For those traveling in the South Island of New Zealand, this place is a MUST-VISIT.

[New Zealand's most beautiful and most photographed cafe, super suitable for big movies! The most memorable attraction in New Zealand is Lake Tekapo.
And the cafe Astro Cafe on the high ground near the lake (just next to the St. John Observatory) is estimated to be one of the best shops in the world... the price is not expensive, while taking a coffee and watching the scenery, I feel It's a great ~ location picture on the last page [Flying Kiss R]
overlooking the lake view at a high point is very shocking, the photo effect is really good. On the way to the top of the mountain, it is also recommended to take a photo. The colorful meadows, coupled with the blue sky and the lake, are just as good as the backs of personal objects. Throughout the trip, the most satisfying photos were taken nearby, very recommended!
Tips: When driving to the high ground, there will be a toll entrance. A car will be a few knives. It is not expensive but generally needs to be queued into the mouth. The entire climbing process is steep and it is not recommended for novices to drive. You must park your car on the way to the mountain, because the scenery is too beautiful to miss it! In addition, this highland is also the best spot to watch the stars at night, you can see the Milky Way. Here is the starry sky protection zone, don't miss it~
New Zealand's Pukaki Lake is not far away,
is the famous Lake Tekapo with the Shepherd's Church.
Tkapo Lake is the most impressive
or the blooming Lu Hanhua
This kind of bouquet is only available at this time.
I heard that the flower language of Lu Binghua is maternal love and happiness
small question is a child who is very violent and very small devil
very personality, unruly
I admit this like me.
But most of the time he is mild and optimistic, intimate and warm
I often feel that I am not spending time and energy to accompany him
but he is holding me as a little princess.
Especially care about what I said
He thinks that mom is a very interesting person
I think "my mother is the most beautiful and best"
I seem to have seen 20 years After that, we get along like a good friend
chat and talk about the wine.
Maybe he doesn't know what
"Love one is to let TA live,
let TA do what you like"
The world of adults is still very good It is difficult to have that kind of selfless love
but on his body
I can often inadvertently receive the most direct and purely emotional expression.
So whether you are a partner or a wife and a mother
, what should be done is to maintain your personality and keep it from being eroded by the elegance
wisdom and peace and tolerance and h// The ability to love people who are important to you
and make them feel happy and happy
is more worthy of being loved.
Really grim
I think it should be that you are ready to not be a bad person in the eyes of others
At that time, you are the ones that the world cant hurt.
Life advice! You must take the amazing journey to New Zealand's South Island
Here, you'll be captivated every day by the beauty of the lakes and mountains, snow-capped glaciers, azure seas and skies, and vast grasslands! ❤️
I've just finished a half-month self-drive tour of New Zealand's South Island, and now I'm sharing my 9 favorite places with you all ⬇️
❶ Lake Tekapo
This place is where you'll fall in love at first sight, with the milk blue waters of the lake set against the snow mountains, and the lupins blooming along the shore, so beautiful it moves you to tears 😭 In my heart, this is the ultimate beauty spot of New Zealand!
❷ Dunedin·Tunnel Beach
This is a beautiful coastal walk, somewhat like the White Cliffs of Dover in England, with majestic rocks rising from the sea, spectacular to behold. Sitting on the cliff edge gazing out to sea, enjoying the undisturbed tranquility, is just too pleasant!
❸ Wanaka·The Lone Tree
I absolutely love Wanaka, where life moves at a leisurely pace: strolling by the lake, feeding seagulls, sunbathing, enjoying the gentle breeze, and feeling relaxed and happy, it's just too enjoyable!
❹ Akaroa·Shamarra Alpaca Farm
Located in a French town in the bay, it's very peaceful and pleasant. Even on cloudy days, the sea is a beautiful blue-green. Spend the morning wandering around town, and the afternoon feeding alpacas at the farm, those freshly sheared alpacas look both ugly and cute 🦙
❺ Kaikoura
Here you'll find a magnificent coastline, with snow-capped mountains and the sea complementing each other, the milk blue sea water, the sky full of seagulls, and seals playing along the shore, it's truly unforgettable.
❻ Wanaka·Coromandel Peak
A popular spot for wedding photos in New Zealand, accessible by helicopter, with grand mountain views. Compared to the 16 km hike to Roys Peak, this is more friendly for the lazy.
❼ Mount Cook National Park
Definitely worth the hike in New Zealand, super impressive, and you can get up close to glaciers. Even on cloudy days, it's breathtakingly beautiful.
❽ Queenstown·Deer Park Heights
This is a self-service entry private farm, one of my favorite places. Each car ticket is $55, and you can drive right up to the top of the mountain to overlook the whole of Queenstown. There are many animals and few tourists, so you can play here all day.
❾ Queenstown·Skyline
Take the cable car to the top of the mountain to overlook Queenstown. Although the scenery and value for money are not as good as Deer Park Heights, it's very fun to play on the mountain luge, and taking photos of the cable car and lake together on the mountain is incredibly beautiful.
📌Tips: If it's your first time in New Zealand and you're worried about planning your trip or lack overseas driving experience, I recommend choosing a group tour.
A must-experience checklist for New Zealand, only after these can you say you've been to New Zealand
🌟 Highlights: Spectacular fjords and glaciers, beautiful and magical beaches, indigenous Maori culture, and fairy-tale-like lakes and mountains... If you're in the mood, add a dash of courage, and you can challenge yourself at the birthplace of bungee jumping. This is New Zealand, the 'Middle-earth' of the movie The Hobbit, a must-visit destination on countless people's travel lists.
❤ Recommended Reason: Stargazing in the Aoraki Mackenzie Dark Sky Reserve, bathing in the brilliant Milky Way of the Southern Hemisphere! New Zealand's South Island is designated as an International Dark Sky Reserve, the largest of its kind in the world. The Dark Sky Reserve includes most of the area around Tekapo and Mount Cook, and is rated as 'one of the best stargazing sites on Earth.' Have a spiritual conversation with the universe under the clear and pristine dark sky, and feel this unparalleled romance and the stunningly beautiful scenery that seems like a fairyland.
👍 Most Recommended: Lake Tekapo
The first image many people recognize of New Zealand is the Church of the Good Shepherd bathed in starlight under a dazzling starry sky, with clusters of lupins blooming quietly. Lake Tekapo, with its high altitude and dry climate, boasts the highest sunshine rate in New Zealand, making it especially suitable for stargazing.
👍 Most Recommended: Queenstown
Queenstown is not only a paradise for extreme sports but also an easy place to stargaze. In the evening, take the Queenstown Skyline Gondola to the top of Queenstown Hill, and you can overlook the town of Queenstown as the lights come on. An inadvertent glance upward reveals a sky bathed in brilliant stars.
👍 Most Recommended: Mount Cook
Besides the popular stargazing by Lake Tekapo, many photographers also recommend Mount Cook for stargazing. Mount Cook is a paradise for hikers, with multiple hiking trails that take you into the glaciers and snow-capped mountains of Mount Cook. Far from towns and with less light pollution, the majestic Mount Cook makes the starry sky atmosphere even more serene and spectacular.
👍 Most Recommended: Stewart Island
Officially rated as the world's fifth International Dark Sky Reserve and the second island reserve. It is uninhabited and closest to Antarctica, so the sky is exceptionally pure.
New Zealand's internet-famous check-in spot - Lake Tekapo, where you can see the starry sky~
Lake Tekapo, located in the central region of the South Island of New Zealand, at the eastern foot of the Southern Alps, adjacent to Mount Cook National Park, is a glacial barrier lake. It is said that the surrounding landscape will be different in different seasons. The milky blue and green lake in winter is accompanied by snowy mountains, and the feeling of admiration cannot be described in words, only by being there can you feel it. The whole town only has one supermarket. And that small but exquisite observatory, which is also known as the southernmost stargazing spot in the world! After ten o'clock in the evening, there are basically only a few waves of people taking various devices and taking crazy photos of the sky!
Good Shepherd Church: Tekapo town is very small, the Good Shepherd Church is on the lakeside of the town, so it is easy to reach. The most beautiful and loneliest church in name and in reality, there are still leisurely seagulls and ducks nearby. I also took a picture of a duck swimming in this blue lake, so happy! The church is by the lake, and there are many stone towers built by tourists by the lake. But what impressed me the most was the cloud waterfall pouring down from the mountains on the north side of the church.
The lupins in New Zealand are about to bloom in spring, are you sure you don't want to come and see?
In this vibrant spring, the lupins are blooming vigorously on the shores of Lake Tekapo, like a brilliant palette of nature. Under the contrast of the distant blue sky and the snowy Southern Alps, it further highlights its unique charm. The melted glacier water gathers next to the Shepherd's Church, flows down, and falls into the milky blue Lake Tekapo. Every drop of water tells the grandeur and tranquility of nature.
This sea of lupins has almost become one of the symbols of New Zealand. From November to January of the following year, countless tourists from home and abroad flock to the South Island of New Zealand, hoping to leave unforgettable memories in this sea of flowers.
Walking by the lake, feeling the solemnity and sacredness of the Shepherd's Church, it seems that time freezes at this moment, making people intoxicated in this beautiful scenery. And in this brilliant sea of lupins, it makes people feel the wonder of nature and the power of life.
Come to the shore of Lake Tekapo, let's feel this beautiful sea of lupins together! And the best way to experience this trip is to choose self-driving, which is very convenient in New Zealand. A translation of the Chinese driver's license is enough, and many platforms offer free translations.
As long as you bring your Chinese driver's license and translation, you can rent a car and drive in New Zealand!
I will tell you the precautions for self-driving and the route of self-driving in the next issue, remember to follow up!

South Island, New Zealand: Lake Tekapo/Good Shepherd Church
📍Travel 180 kilometers from Oamaru to Lake Tekapo, a famous tourist spot in the central part of the South Island of New Zealand.
🌟Lake Tekapo is a very beautiful place with clear and jade-like water, surrounded by mountains and snow ridges.
On the shore of Lake Tekapo, there is a hut made of volcanic stones, which is the famous Good Shepherd Church.
It is said that the church was built in 1935 to commemorate a loyal shepherd dog. The church is small and not luxurious, but this historical background gives the church a special emotional value and is one of the reasons why many couples choose to hold weddings here (including Chinese actress Yao Chen).
There is another explanation for the name of the 'Good Shepherd Church'. It may come from a parable in the Bible. The good shepherd refers to Jesus Christ, who is a shepherd, taking care of and protecting his flock. The church is named after this to symbolize the care and protection of Jesus Christ.
On the south side of the church, there is a shepherd dog statue carved from rocks. The statue is about two meters high and shows the image of a loyal shepherd dog guarding the flock.
On the north side of Lake Tekapo, there is also a sheep statue. This statue shows the status of sheep in New Zealand's agriculture and animal husbandry, and echoes the shepherd dog.
There is also a footbridge near Lake Tekapo, known as the 'Kapopo Bridge', which is about a hundred meters long. Tourists can enjoy the view of Lake Tekapo and the majestic Mount Cook on the bridge.
✅Visiting Lake Tekapo is the last stop of this South Island, New Zealand ~ island tour. In the afternoon, we will go to Christchurch to fly back to Auckland.
❤In general, the lakes and mountains of the South Island of New Zealand and its historical culture are very special. What I have seen and heard is impressive and will leave a beautiful memory

Lake Tekapo in autumn
In mid-April, New Zealand's most colorful autumn season, Lake Tekapo is a great place for many friends with mountains and water, very close to the ideal suburban outing. Every time driving from Christchurch to Queenstown, you must pass through the tourist attraction - Lake Tekapo!
In the expanding universe, be yourself. | New Zealand
The International Dark Sky Reserve in Tekapo, New Zealand amazed me. I joined the Chameleon Stargazing tour and there was even a Chinese guide. I saw the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds that cannot be seen in the Northern Hemisphere, as well as red, yellow, and green auroras in the Southern Hemisphere.
Eyes also collect so many shooting stars! So lucky, right?
In the expanding universe, be the best version of yourself. 🌌 🌌
Whenever you fight alone at night, remember to look up and see the stars shining just for you.
If you can't see, it's because of severe light pollution. You can look at me more.
I don't know if you can see the shooting star I'm holding in picture 7! I must have made a wish that will come true with this evidence. If even a shooting star wish can't come true, then let's just work hard [doge] and not rely on shooting stars.
Although it is said so, "the universe is still the ultimate romance in my heart."
The airplane tour of Aoraki Mount Cook on the second day was stunning!
Circle around Mount Aoraki, the highest peak in New Zealand!
The dreamy blue Lake Tekapo is so beautiful!
There are various glaciers/"Earth's veins" that are really worth it!
This is a screenshot from a mobile video!
What's really fun is that all the employees of this company are one family - the grandfather does ground work, the father is a pilot, and the son is currently learning to fly! The flying family is just too cool!
Lake Tekapo
Absolutely gorgeous view! Hiked up a trail along lake tekapo with the bluest view. Relatively easy hike.
The beautiful Lake Tekapo that requires no filter.
Picturesque by day and dazzling by night, Lake Tekapo is part of a UNESCO Dark Sky Reserve, making it the perfect spot for stargazing.

Sunset at Lake Tekapo
Catch the sunset at Lake Tekapo for a beautiful memory in New Zealand. The waters are calm and blue, and you may also spot some rabbits hopping about. This is a popular location in the evening to be sure to find a good spot early. #bucketlistreboot
Lake Tekapo
The lake is so beautiful..it attracted me to keep looking it without getting bored. During the sunset, the lake surrounding became golden colour that brought to another scenery. In the early morning, I walked to lakeside and was sitting there with blank mind..relax and calm.

Lake Tekapo in the south island of new zealand is one of the most popular lake in the country. A stunning place with a natural fresh air and natural water, you may even drink directly from the lake and you can taste the pure water of New Zealand. During winter it can be very cold but the snowy mountain background offset that massively. What a beautiful place ! #wintergetaway

The world-famous Lake Tekapo
Tkapo Lake is located in the Mackenzie Basin in the middle of the South Island, surrounded by the meandering Southern Alps. A pure lake of water, always showing a deep blue, exudes a quiet and noble temperament. The blue lake and the distant snow-capped mountains make the scenery spectacular.
As a close-up lakeside, it changes constantly with the seasons - spring, full of colorful lush flowers; summer and autumn, full of golden grass; winter, just a snow white - like a picture frame In the same way, it adds a different embellishment to the beautiful scenery of the lake and mountains in the distance, reflecting the long-distance and holiness of the pure land that is far from the dust.
Lake Tekapo, surrounded by mountains, is often described as "the earth is quiet" to describe its beauty and tranquility. The calm, crystal-clear, crystal-clear lake reflects the snow-capped Southern Alps. It is known as the Lake Tekapo that the South Island has to visit because it is far away from the dust. Since 1935, there have been more good shepherds. The accompanying bronze statue of the church and the shepherd dog makes it quiet, more known, and chasing, just like us.
Like the twilight of Lake Tekapo, the stone on the lakeside, the reflection of the autumn trees, very quiet.
On the fifth day of the South Island trip, starting from Christchurch, we crossed the Canterbury Plain, and there were snow-capped mountains and lakes in front of us. This is the difference between the South Island and the North Island. The volcanoes and hot springs of the North Island, the South Island have glaciers, snow-capped mountains, and lakes. It is recommended to come to New Zealand from the North Island.
This town, which is known as the world's super-starry sky, surrounds the super beautiful lake Lake Tekapo. The blue waters of Turkey are lightly milky white, and the colorful luke flowers in summer. Blooming on the lake and on Mount John, just pressing the shutter is like a postcard.
Two hours drive to Lake Tekapo, the second largest lake in New Zealand, surrounded by shrouded trees and snow-capped snow-capped mountains. You can see the superb starry sky, the quaint church of the Good Shepherd standing quietly by the lake, everything is so quiet and peaceful. Many people will choose to come here to register for marriage, and to achieve the beautiful marriage of God's joy under the testimony of the pastor.
Good Shepherd's Church Located on the shores of the beautiful Lake Tekapo in New Zealand, the back is a vast landscape, and many newcomers choose to have a wedding here. Although the church is very small and the area is only 20 or 30 square meters, the facilities are very good. The current Good Shepherd Church has become one of the first choices for newcomers to marry around the world. However, it is necessary to reserve a pastor long beforehand. It is said that it has been reserved. Next year.
Lake Tekapo in the South Island of New Zealand presents different levels of blue-green at different angles. This is New Zealand's most famous star-gazing point, and the Good Shepherd Church on the lakeside gathers photographers from all over the world at night. However, due to the close proximity to a parking lot, the light pollution is actually more serious. In addition, the good weather without cloud is not necessarily every day, so it takes luck to shoot the stars.
The salmon-rich Lake Pukaki (2) was overcast with turbulence, but it did not affect its diamond-like blue and satin. It is a pity that the honor of Mount Cook, New Zealand's highest peak, was not seen this time.
When it arrived at Lake Tekapo, it suddenly cleared. This is the most beautiful cloud and sky in this trip.
I have to say that the Shepherd Church is the most successful tourist attraction in New Zealand. A small stone house has been smashed into the king of tourist traffic and I admire it!
The second largest lake in the northern Mackenzie Basin flows from north to south, feeding water from the Godley River, 700 meters above sea level. Located between the famous tourist city of New Zealand's South Island, Christchurch and Queenstown, in the heart of the Mount Cook Basin and MacKenzie. The beautiful and charming Lake Tekapo is surrounded by groves of snow and golden snow, and snow-capped mountains.
New Zealand The most beautiful place in summer is Tekapo's Lu Binghua sea, snow-capped snow-capped mountains and high-altitude oysters, and the endless smashing Lu Binghuahai is in front of you.
Tips: You can get a map of Tekapo in almost all tourist souvenir shops, hotels and restaurants.
New Zealand is really a country suitable for self-driving, a car, a CD, all the way south, the wind is not cold or hot. Road trips always make people feel open and free. The most beautiful scenery is on the road, stopping at the place you like, and encountering unexpectedly beautiful scenery at the next turn.
Staying in the star town of Lake Tekapo for two nights, walking to the lake at different times every day presents different colors. Drive to the top of Mount John and overlook the town and the azure Tekapo Lake. In the night, countless stars were enshrined in the sky, and slowly waited for the Milky Way to climb over the Church of the Good Shepherd in the middle of the night. Waiting for the stars to be alone, but this piece of land will give you a vast starry night without hesitation.
