Colosseum and cafe with history
The Colosseum, the greatest amphitheater of the Roman Empire and still the landmark of Rome. We visited in October where the sun set quite early. We arrived just before sunset and hence could only manage to walk from the outskirts. Next time we would join a guided tour.
There are several sightseeing points around the Colosseum and it was a great walk around Rome where we ended in the Sciasia Caffe 1919 after an hour or so, a few streets from the Vatican.
Sciasia Caffe 1919
Address: Via Fabio Massimo, n.80/a, 00192 Roma

Magnificent Colosseum
Located just east of the Roman Forum, the massive stone amphitheater known as the Colosseum was commissioned around A.D. 70-72 by Emperor Vespasian of the Flavian dynasty as a gift to the Roman people. In A.D. 80, Vespasian’s son Titus opened the Colosseum—officially known as the Flavian Amphitheater—with 100 days of games, including gladiatorial combats and wild animal fights.
After four centuries of active use, the magnificent arena fell into neglect, and up until the 18th century it was used as a source of building materials. Though two-thirds of the original Colosseum has been destroyed over time, the amphitheater remains a popular tourist destination, as well as an iconic symbol of Rome and its long, tumultuous history.

Rome, where civilization, art, beauty and rom
#rometrip My trip to Rome, the great and eternal city.
My words will not really be able to describe the beauty of the enchanting city of Rome
My visit to the Colosseum
First, I will put a brief explanation of the Colosseum.
The Colosseum is a giant Roman amphitheater in the city center of Rome. It is a huge oval building with a length of 189 meters. Its construction dates back to the era of the
Roman Empire in the first century between the years 70 and 72 AD.
The Colosseum is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering. Part of the Colosseum was destroyed by a violent earthquake in the Middle Ages.
The name of the Roman amphitheater, the Colosseum, was given after the colossal statue of Nero that is located next to it
I did many activities during my visit to the Colosseum
In all my travels, as usual, I start wandering around the place to explore it.
So I started walking around the Roman Colosseum building from the outside and watching its magnitude and splendor of its construction
Really I was stunned 🙀😇, I said what a greatness.
The greatness of the Roman Empire that was in those ancient times.
Fortunately for me, it had only been a few weeks since the third and ground floors of the runway were opened, allowing tourists to enter and see the runway from above.
So I was able to enjoy and watch this great historical landmark and take some souvenir photos from the top.
My feeling was second to none
Trips to historical cities have always been surprising to me
The Colosseum is considered one of the most important places of tourism in Rome, so I strongly advise you not to miss the opportunity to visit this famous landmark.
Information that may be useful to you
There is a small kiosk before entering the runway where you can buy some snacks and drinks and start enjoying your tour.

When in… Rome
Most memorable moment: Returning to Piccadilly Roma after the Roma vs Geneva football game. We hadn’t booked a room for the night nor anticipated the amazing city becoming 99% booked upon our return. Just when we thought we were going to have to drive a minimum of 45 minutes to find a place to stay, the owner of Piccadilly Roma gave us the most pleasant surprise. He offered us two affordable rooms remaining at his hotel barely two blocks away. He didn’t stop there though. He offered to walk us to the hotel to be sure we would be satisfied and sold us a bottle of incredible red wine from his restaurant, which he opened for us to enjoy in our rooms as the restaurant was closing. Not only was the owner one of the most kind and generous individuals we have met, the burrata at Piccadilly is still one of the best I’ve had to this day.

I have visited the Colosseum, Rome Forum and Palatine Hill, which is a must visit attraction in Rome, I went here in January, it’s not so crowded and the weather is good to walk around these places without getting sweaty.
First I visited the Colosseum, low season without long lines, entrance are clear and smooth, from the top floor and slowly walking down. Have some understanding through the museum and some model demonstrations, then go into the main area to have a glaze of the technology of how Roman build this amazing architecture.
Then I visited the Roman Forum, I’m not an expert in history, while all this relics are with long story. At the same time Palatine Hill is just next to it, there are some museum in the Palatine Hill, but I didn’t go in.
The energy vibe of the colosseum and the second attraction are totally different. A place where many human and animal lives are gone, and a place where a place is build.
Travel to these places and find out something more. Read more information before hand, so you will understand about the details.

Further modifications were made during the reign of Domitian (r. 81–96). The three emperors that were patrons of the work are known as the Flavian dynasty, and the amphitheatre was named the Flavian Amphitheatre (Latin: Amphitheatrum Flavium; Italian: Anfiteatro Flavio [aɱfiteˈaːtro ˈflaːvjo]) by later classicists and archaeologists for its association with their family name (Flavius).
The Colosseum is built of travertine limestone, tuff (volcanic rock), and brick-faced concrete. It could hold an estimated 50,000 to 80,000 spectators at various points in its history, having an average audience of some 65,000; it was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles including animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Roman mythology, and briefly mock sea battles. The building ceased to be used for entertainment in the early medieval era. It was later reused for such purposes as housing, workshops, quarters for a religious order, a fortress, a quarry, and a Christian shrine.

Flavian Amphitheatre
Located just east of the Roman Forum, one will find the most impressive amphitheatre ever, which is known as the Colosseum. It was constructed around 70 AD and completed in 80 AD. It is also one of the famous attractions of Rome and there are over 6 million visitors per year.
It is important to check the opening hours before visiting because it depends on the seasons. For example, it closes slightly earlier during the winter season. The best way to appreciate the enormous Colosseum is to access it through the Via dei Fori Imperiali because from here you will be able to see its well-preserved facade.

Rome more, worry less
I have visited Rome once and rest assured I will be going back. There is so much to experience in this beautiful city. We've spent an entire day in Vatican City alone. Went to St. Peter’s Basilica one of the churches many tourists flock to as part of the Rome experience. Understandably, they are must-see venues of the city. I was in awe walking through the halls. There was beauty at every corner. The ceilings displayed intricate religious paintings. Then we visited the Colosseum (a must visit place when you're in Rome) and also Trevi Fountain. The fountain is so beautiful with a number of sculptures and the ornate building face. This place is so packed with people and tourists but it is absolutely worth the visiting.
In conclusion, Rome is a fantastic destination regardless of the occasion. Whether exploring the streets, tasting the local cuisine, admiring the architecture and artworks, or exploring and learning about its rich history, there is something for everyone to see/do in the city. Give yourself a treat and go experience breathtaking Rome.

The grand Colosseum is an amazing piece of history from the ancient Roman Empire. Highly recommend to use a tour guide as they will get you to the front of the queues and will give you a good amount of history on the way. Definitely one of the busiest and well known tourist locations so it can be extremely hard to get a good picture without a load of tourists in it. Wear comfortable walking shoes and take lots of pictures.#境外遊

The famous Colosseum (Colosseo) is a must see. This is the first thing that comes to mind, when we hear Rome. The Colosseum is an oval amphitheatre situated in the centre of the city. It is the largest ancient amphitheatre ever built (completed in 80 AD), and is still the largest standing amphitheatre in the world. A real example of the Roman Empire’s architectural innovation. The Colosseum was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such as hunting shows, executions, re-enactments of famous battles etc. After the fall of the Roman Empire, it was even used as a housing complex (temporarily).
