Shanghai's newly opened "ancient town", a good place for a mini city vacation!
I recently visited the Panlong Tiandi, which has been popular for a month,
The flow of people on weekdays has obviously normalized a lot...
Who went on the weekend, can you report the flow of people haha!
Overall, it's a commercial space imitating an ancient water town,
Surprisingly, there is also the Yude Yao Art Museum hidden in it,
There will probably be many exhibitions to rush to in the future‼️
Elements such as park commerce, ancient town renewal, pet-friendly, parent-child experience, outdoor socializing, art and culture, etc. are all available.
Large public green spaces, natural water systems,
Plus the historical culture of Panlong Ancient Town as the base,
The commercial space also has more possibilities.
However, there are also Sky Vanke Plaza, Hongqiao Tiandi and the future Hongqiao Qianwan Impression City around...
This mutually beneficial competition pattern suddenly made Qingpu become my "Big Qingpu"! Hahaha~
As the shops of various brands open one after another,
The overall level here is still quite fashionable and young,
It's no problem to stroll around for a whole day~
A mini city vacation destination?
I think it's okay👌

You can visit the New Ten Scenes of Panlong, especially the Cheng Family Ancestral Hall, a masterpiece from the Qing Dynasty's Qianlong era, which fully presents the 10-year history of Panlong's development, encapsulating a thousand years of time in both the big city and the small town
🛶Longjiang Ancient Ferry→The most characteristic experience of the ancient town, 50r/person, 15 minutes one way, 200r for a private boat (up to 6 people)
It's really a nice choice to stroll around here when it's not crowded, with many retro toy stalls, pastry stalls, rice wine shops, jewelry stores, etc., where you can shop from day to night. Dragon's beard candy, paper kites, windmills, and little sugar figures are simply full of childlike fun! Panlong Tiandi
Panlong Tiandi is a leisure area with Jiangnan style located in Dahongqiao, featuring the 'Ten Scenes of Panlong'.
Panlong Port was one of the five major ports of the Wusong River in ancient times, winding and meandering, where a bustling town gradually formed along the flowing waters. The ancient town area contains many ancient bridges, temples, and the 'Ten Scenes of Panlong' such as Qu Shui Ying Ju, Xi Qiao Yu Bo, and Song Tao Ye Ting.
Cultural transformation project. Relying on Rui'an's rich experience in urban cultural transformation projects, Panlong Tiandi creates a city culture with warmth; it constructs an urban ecological philosophy with attitude; it smartly crafts the future experience of Jiangnan.
Characteristic scenes. Surrounding the 'Ten Scenes of Panlong', the ancient town features, the three-kilometer winding Jiangnan water system, the thousand-year-old incense of Panlong An 'An Market', as well as distinctive scenes like the Cross Street, Cheng Family Ancestral Hall, waterfront commercial area, and the Granary Art Hotel.

Shanghai | Panlong Tiandi is the must visit place
Panlong tiandi is one of the most popular commercial area in Shanghai Qingpu region.
.
The region consists of restaurants, cafes, shopping stores, and some markets with Chinese traditional artwork or fresh fruits.
.
The place is quite crowded with people during the weekend.
.
Xita bbq is my favourite restaurant with bbq and the food quality is good. In addition, bluebottle coffee can be found here. And customers can enjoy the coffee vibe in the well designed cafe.

A leisurely heart in the new look of the ancient town~ Half a day at Panlong Tiandi
Panlong Tiandi is built by the water, starting from the core layout of Jiangnan culture, historical architecture, and streets, allowing the historical culture of Panlong Town to continue.
In the quiet streets or along the small river, nature, architecture, and products are integrated. Spend a quarter of an hour for a cup of coffee or a little wine, two hours for a unique meal, listen to music, and daydream. Gather with a few good friends, savor the art space, and listen to the laughter of children playing in the fountain in the square. Here, life is different.
.
🚊Transportation strategy~
Get off at Exit 2 of Panlong Road Station on Line 17.
.
🤟Fun plan~
Panlong Tiandi is divided into three blocks from south to north, namely Anshi, Nanshi, and Beishi. It is separated by Dingyu Road and Panlong River horizontally, and the main road vertically is from Xizi South Street to Xizi North Street, with Xianghua Bridge in the middle.
.
🔥Tourism strategy~
Anshi
The first stop into Panlong Tiandi from the subway can be Panlong An, which is the first of the new ten scenic spots of Panlong, 'Ancient Temple Bell Ringing'. Next to it is the Blessing Square and Joy Pony Equestrian Experience Hall. After passing the service center, pick up a tour map by the way.
Nanshi
Crossing Dingyu Road, you enter Nanshi, and the main street is Xizi South Street, including Panlong Market Street, Longyun Street, and Binshui Market Street.
❤️Must-try water fun
Too many choices of milk tea and lemon tea, you can also have a drink of wine, or how about a yellow wine popsicle?
🥤LINLEE Linli·Handmade Lemon Tea (Panlong Tiandi Store)
🥤Tea Dance (Shanghai Qingpu Panlong Tiandi Store)
🥤Huijing Tavern (Panlong Store)
❤️Must-try food
🥓Xita Grandma's Mud Stove Roasted Meat (Qingpu Panlong Tiandi Store)
Before 4 pm, Xita Grandma starts to take numbers
🍺LENBACH RIVERSIDE (Panlong Tiandi Store)
I like the yellow and blue cottage of LENBACH by the river, full of holiday vibes
🍔CHARLIE'S Pink Burger (Panlong Tiandi Store)
Pink Burger's princess red is the spicy charm of oil-spicy fries and Lao Gan Ma beef burger
🍜Noodles and Rice Noodles
Even Chen Xianggui Lanzhou Beef Noodles has become stylish, with outdoor green plant seats. Beef noodles can also be full of French charm.
Just have a Fat Juice Milan Hong Kong Rice Noodles, a meal for two is no more than 90 yuan, and you can keep adding rice noodles for free
❤️Must-try fun
The west side of Nanshi, Chengci Guli, is the most historical part of the entire Panlong Tiandi.
The 600-year-old Xianghua Bridge is not to be missed.
Beishi
Crossing Xianghua Bridge, Hanchun Square in Beishi is a great place for kids to play in the water.
Walking west along the small street, Xuezhu Xuan is just right for a mini art exhibition.
Continue west, and the theater square here is also one of the new ten scenic spots, 'Creek Bridge Fishing Port'. Then there is the long Yanyu Covered Bridge.
.
🌈New show online~
In August, the latest Jiangnan boat performance is launched. Chinese folk music and Jiangnan Pingtan, melodious and clear. Every Thursday to Sunday night, five performances each night, the boat will sail on the Panlong City River.
8.3-8.6 Folk Music; 8.10-8.13 Pingtan
8.17-8.20 Folk Music; 8.24-8.27 Pingtan

Shanghai's New Landmark | Panlong Ancient Town
Panlong Ancient Town is located in Xujing Town, Qingpu District, Shanghai, 8.5 kilometers away from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. Panlong has been a famous small market town since ancient times, with Panlong Ancestral Hall attracting pilgrims from within a hundred miles, and Ren Tou Bridge bustling with people, known as the land of fish and rice. Panlong was established in the early Qing Dynasty, with a history of over three hundred years, developing into a cross street one li long from east to west and half a li long from north to south, where the locals engaged in farming and weaving, living in groups. Panlong has a long history, numerous scenic spots, and is rare in the suburbs of the city. The town has many small bridges, truly featuring the characteristics of a Jiangnan water town.
Panlong Ancient Town has now been developed into Panlong Tiandi, an attempt to combine the ancient town with modern commerce. Unlike the small merchants, vendors, and shops in the past ancient towns, it is a large commercial complex with many famous brands and stores settled in. It integrates dining, entertainment, shopping, art appreciation, and leisure tourism, meeting various needs of tourists.

Shanghai's New Landmark - Panlong Tiandi Ancient Town
Where to go for a weekend stroll? Come and play at Panlong Tiandi in Qingpu, it's about a 40-minute drive from the city center, which is quite reasonable. There are parking lots around the ancient town, but it's advised not to drive here on holidays, as parking can be a big hassle due to the need to queue for parking spaces. This is a new attraction in Shanghai, a free and fun ancient town. It was my first visit and I found it quite nice. The alleys in the ancient town are full of shops, offering a wide variety of food and fun, with an array of goods that dazzle the eyes. The atmosphere in the ancient town is very lively, and there are restrooms everywhere which is convenient for tourists. Panlong Market has a rich and colorful dragon dance program, and the various small shops in the market are dazzling. It takes about half a day to stroll around Panlong Ancient Town, but if you have nothing else to do, you can also take your time. You can have both lunch and dinner here, with options like fast food burgers, Chinese cuisine, and various snacks and desserts. It's a travel spot in Shanghai that's worth recommending for a visit!

Panlong Wonderland | The New Fun Spot in the Magic City
Shanghai's new recreational area, suitable for a mini-vacation, feels like a new world of parks and water towns. The scenery is nice, great for taking photos and checking in, pet-friendly, and also good for walking with kids. However, there are really so many people, and there's a queue for eating everywhere. The reason there aren't many people in my photos is that I arrived before nine in the morning on a weekday, and I already encountered groups of stylishly dressed aunties and moms at the subway station.

A new cultural tourism landmark—Shanghai Panlong Tiandi
Panlong Ancient Town was originally located in the eastern part of Qingpu District, adjacent to Dahongqiao, with a superior geographical location. However, in the past, the surrounding area was surrounded by logistics and industrial parks, lacking commercial facilities and supporting services, resulting in a poor overall environment;
Developed and operated by Hong Kong's Rykadan Capital, Panlong Tiandi is not simply a restoration of old houses at their original sites. Instead, it preserves a few buildings with higher status for revitalization and utilization, while most of the area has been completely replanned and rebuilt. The style is uniformly integrated yet distinctive, with unique landscapes and shop signs, and boats and waterways scattered throughout;
The combination of old and new embellishments, layered planning, precise business positioning, and a strong leasing team make it worth a visit when you have the time!
🚉Transportation Strategy:
Drive or take the Metro Line 17 to Panlong Station

Come and have a 'summer' fun with kayaking
Summer is about having fun with water, cooling off for the summer
Today I came to the popular place, Panlong Tiandi, and found a treasure place to play with water
📍Location: The grassland near the lake by Cheng's Ancestral Hall in Panlong Tiandi
‼️Play: Island Jump
Here you can kayak, paddle board, camp🏕️, drink coffee, and even dance joyfully at night💃🏻. Eat, drink and have fun, it's so comfortable.
Kayaking can be done alone or in pairs, and it's also very comfortable to paddle at night when the weather is not hot.

Shanghai - Panlong Tiandi - A popular place for photo check-ins
Address📍: No. 8, Lane 123, Panding Road, Qingpu District, Shanghai
Transportation: 🚗You can drive there, there is a large parking lot
After going around, it doesn't feel very big, it's quite commercialized, most of them are restaurants, there are fewer small shops to visit. There is an area with a horse field where you can ride horses. Small bridges and flowing water, antique, suitable for taking pictures, the night view is not bad.

Panlong Tiandi, a popular check-in spot
Panlong Tiandi in Shanghai is located in Panlong Ancient Town, Xu Jing, Shanghai, adjacent to Hongqiao Hub, facing the National Exhibition Center, and close to Panlong Road Station of Metro Line 17. It is a large-scale urban renovation project developed by Rui'an Real Estate, including public green space, ancient town business and international residential areas. It is another urban cultural gift from Rui'an to Shanghai after Xintiandi in Shanghai, committed to creating 'Shanghai's front yard, Jiangnan's new world'.

Shanghai | Panlong Ancient Town, perhaps the most controversial ancient town in Shanghai
🚗Panlong Ancient Town is named after its location on the west side of Panlong Port, the root and source of history and culture in Qingpu Xujing area. Panlong Port is one of the five major ports of the ancient Wusong River, winding and twisting, with the saying 'Panlong eighteen bends, bend after bend sees Panlong'. The earliest historical records of Panlong can be traced back to the Sui and Tang dynasties, and it has experienced thousands of years of rise and fall to this day.
🚗A man-made ancient town, not too close to the urban area, closer to Hongqiao. It can be defined as a new commercial entity, with a large area, not too many restaurants, many interesting small shops, a pet area at the entrance, many, many pets playing inside, many thoughtful designs inside, many dogs, and a horse riding field. It's quite nice to come here for a stroll, and I hope to introduce many interesting shops.
🚗When it first opened, there were many people, but then slowly there was no more popularity. This ancient town is quite controversial, it is said that it took 10 years to change into this look. Is it really an ancient town? Hahaha, what do you think?

Shanghai Panlong Tiandi | Once an urban village, now the "New Venice of Jiangnan"
📍Nestled in Xujing, Qingpu, Shanghai, Panlong Tiandi is a newly established shopping district that opened its doors in the spring of 2023. Drawing on the local history and the charm of the water town, it has been transformed into a " "}New Jiangnan-style Ancient Town Tiandi" "}, swiftly becoming the most popular commercial circle in Shanghai in the first half of 2023.
📝The history of Panlong Town can be traced back to the Sui Dynasty, boasting a millennium of history. Flourishing due to its waterways, it is one of the five major tributaries of the Wusong River. Who would have thought that this place was once a declining urban village? Small factories, workshops, warehouses, and various old-style houses were gathered here. Today, the ancient town, known for its " "}Ten Sceneries of Panlong" "}, has been rejuvenated.
✨The " "}Xianghua Bridge" "} and " "}Fenglai Bridge" "} are the only two ancient bridges left in the town. After historical scrutiny, eight new bridges have been built, restoring the old saying of Panlong's " "}Nine Dragons and One Phoenix" "}. Additionally, based on the original " "}Eight Sceneries of Panlong" "}, the " "}New Ten Sceneries of Panlong" "} have been created.
📖The distribution of Panlong Tiandi is divided into North Market, South Market, An Market, and Cross Street.
▪️South Market: Mainly consists of the Yu Deyao Art Museum, cultural experiences, and various dining options.
▪️An Market: Primarily features trendy sports such as equestrianism.
▪️North Market: Mainly includes a parent-child center, boutique hotels, and community supermarkets.
▪️Cross Street: Primarily features historical buildings and some intangible cultural heritage creations.
✨Now, in the midst of the sweltering summer, it is recommended to visit after sunset to experience the unique night atmosphere of the water town. Moreover, during various traditional Chinese festivals, there are irregular themed activities and limited-time markets. A short weekend getaway here is indeed a delightful lifestyle choice.

Spring is the best season when flowers bloom, searching for the ancient town in memories
Shanghai truly has everything. Both fashion and tradition can be experienced here. The charm of the Jiangnan ancient towns is not limited to Qibao only. Check in at Panlong Tiandi, where modernity meets history, and it feels too comfortable.
🌟 Highlights:
Although it is a newly built ancient town, the layout has an authentic ancient feel. Especially when strolling along the riverbanks, the walls, bricks, and tiles all seem to take you back to those childhood days.
👍 Highly recommended:
It's the season when spring is warm and flowers are blooming. The various cherry blossoms here are in full bloom, definitely not to be missed. No need to squeeze through the crowded internet-famous spots anymore. 😊😊😊

Panlong World | A New World in the Ancient Town Mode
During the Spring Festival, I had some free time and drove to Panlong World, a place near Shanghai. As a result, I ended up queuing for parking, queuing for food, queuing to buy sweet dumplings, and even queuing for photos ! The ancient town scenery with little bridges and flowing water seemed a bit hard to distinguish between real and fake, but the chain brands on the shore were reassuring to eat from. The developer, Ryan Group, never stops exploring new business models; it's uncertain whether this attempt will shine again ?

New Color of the Ancient Town → Shanghai Panlong Tiandi
🌈Shanghai Panlong Tiandi, located in the Panlong Ancient Town in the Hongqiao Business District of Qingpu District, Shanghai🏠.
🌈At the northernmost part of the ancient town is the newly built church with white walls,
Stepping on the bluestone slabs,
Passing through the narrow market,
Squeezing through the dense crowd,
Crossing many ancient stone bridges,
Passing countless ancient or modern shops,
You will see
🌈The yellow wall of Panlong Temple at the southernmost part of the ancient town.
🌈The river in the ancient town meanders🏞️, and stone bridges are densely covered.
The modern shops inside the black tile and white wall, and the organic combination of the old houses🏠 and the stone slab road, half ancient and half fashionable, are really integrated.
🌈The town has beautiful scenery, dense restaurants, and is very suitable for sightseeing, lingering, punching cards and leisure.
🌈Public transportation🚌, Metro🚇 Line 17 "Panlong Road" station directly, get out of Metro Exit 2, cross Songze Avenue, and walk about ten minutes to arrive.
🌈If you drive by yourself🚗, there are several parking lots🅿️ around, but the parking spaces are very tight on holidays.

Panlong Tiandi, a new center for eating, drinking, and entertainment in Shanghai
Located in Xujing, Qingpu, Shanghai, 'Panlong Tiandi' has made it to the hot search list. Since its opening on April 29 last year, its popularity has not diminished, with a daily influx of people, bustling with activity.
Because the internet often confuses Panlong Ancient Town with Panlong Tiandi, most of the visitors to 'Panlong Tiandi' come for the name of Panlong Ancient Town. Only when they arrive do they realize that this is a newly built commercial center similar to Shanghai Xintiandi, under the guise of the ancient town. In fact, Panlong Ancient Town, which was born in the early Qing Dynasty, has been completely destroyed except for a Xianghua Bridge and a Panlong Temple (rebuilt in the 1990s after the old temple was destroyed). Without the support of the old business model of the ancient town, the Shanghai Rui'an Company, which built 'Panlong Tiandi', had no choice but to rename it 'Panlong Tiandi'.
Entering 'Panlong Tiandi', in my opinion, 'Panlong Tiandi' is a group of buildings that are neither ancient nor modern, neither Chinese nor Western: the roofs are covered with gray tiles of Jiangnan residences, and the walls are decorated with Chinese-style pink walls or Western-style frames. Walking through the streets and alleys, we see the shadow of Thames Town, smell the fresh fish of Jiangnan Water Town, and are permeated with the lingering charm of Tang Dynasty. However, from an aesthetic point of view, it is still pleasing to the eye and pleasing to the heart, extremely comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. The design concept of modern architects changes rapidly, which is also a quick response to the rapid development of the new era. This 'Panlong Tiandi' architectural design, which combines Chinese and Western elements and is indifferent to schools, may be the work of these contemporary designers.
'Panlong Tiandi' has food and drink, fun and entertainment, green lawns, horse riding and horse riding teaching fields, fashionable blocks decorated with flowers, delicious food for foodies, and a fair number of luxury coffee and tea shops... If you are a believer, you can also enter Panlong Temple, light a stick of incense, and pray for the safety of your family. As the main force of the tour of Panlong Tiandi, the uncles and aunts of Shanghai are busy taking pictures and checking in. With the passage of time, the popularity of Panlong Tiandi, a commercial and sightseeing area, has been driven up. I am optimistic about Panlong Tiandi!

The night view of Shanghai Panlong Tiandi is charming
The night view of Shanghai Panlong Tiandi is extremely beautiful, with colorful lights illuminating the entire scenic area to form an irresistible landscape. Whenever night falls, Shanghai Panlong Tiandi presents a quiet and charming scene. Original
The lights are brilliant, like stars, reflected on the Panlong River, sparkling, and beautiful. Walking along the Panlong River is like being in a ink painting.
The buildings on both sides of the river under the light, appear quaint and elegant, as if through a time tunnel, back to the ancient Jiangnan water town. The neon lights of the skyscrapers and the reflections in the river complement each other, forming a moving picture.
On the square in Panlong Tiandi, colorful lights illuminate the entire square. Children play on the square, and the laughter adds a bit of liveliness and vitality to this quiet night scene.
Walking along the stone path into the alleys of Panlong Tiandi, it seems to be in a poetic little world. The ancient buildings under the light appear more mysterious and rhythmic. The cafes, bookstores, handicraft shops and other various small shops in the alley all reveal a quiet and warm atmosphere, making people linger.
Overlooking the entire night view from the high point of Panlong Tiandi, the entire city seems to be lit. The distant skyscrapers and the nearby quaint buildings form a sharp contrast under the light, making people sigh the unique charm of this city.
The night Shanghai Panlong Tiandi is like a bright pearl, quietly lying on the bank of the Panlong River, emitting a charming light. Whether walking by the river or shuttling between the alleys, you can feel the tranquility and beauty of this city.

Searching for 'Dragons' on the Streets of Shanghai: The Rainbow Dragon in Panlong Tiandi
🐉Looking for good places with 'dragon' in Shanghai during the Year of the Dragon.
🔅The first place that comes to mind is Panlong Tiandi in Qingpu, a brand new commercial street transformed from an old town. It officially opened in 2023. Although many people say that Panlong has become very commercialized, the flow of customers here remains high every weekend.
✨As the 'Jiangnan version of Xintiandi', it has water areas, stone bridges, temples, art galleries, sports parks, etc., combining ancient and modern, and integrating humanistic art and outdoor nature. A river divides it into two cities, north and south. Numerous restaurants, concept stores, and specialty stores are scattered in the winding streets.
💥This year is the Year of the Dragon, and as a place with 'dragon' in its name, Panlong Tiandi, two rainbow dragons have also appeared here. (You can refer to the content below)
📷Photo check-in points:
▪️In the alley near the Korean food near Qingjin Cave, there is a super long rainbow dragon;
▪️On the cross street, a rainbow dragon is hovering in the corridor near the stone bridge next to Haagen-Dazs;
▪️On the misty long street on the west side of Panlong Tiandi, the Panlong Water Collection is only open on weekends;
📝I went there on a weekday morning, and the crowd was okay. Most of them were elderly groups, and it happened to be during the winter vacation, and I also saw many grandfather-grandson combinations.
