in Chinatown and fairytale village in Incheon
Went to the northwestern part of South Korea, Incheon!
visited the Chinatown village and ate some delicious Jjajangmyeon and Tangsuyuk! After filling up our stomachs , we went to the fairytale village for a nice little walk and took some photos! it’s only 5 mins walk from the Chinatown village!

Incheon's Chinatown came into being with the opening of Incheon Port in 1883 and Incheon's designation as an extraterritoriality of the Ching Dynasty in the following year. In the past, the area held many stores trading goods imported from China, but currently most Chinese businesses in the area are restaurants. Today, the residents of Chinatown are mostly 2nd or 3rd generation Chinese, descendents of the early Chinese settlers. The area harbors many of the flavors of China, while the traditional culture of the first generation are preserved.

If you are coming on a weekday, you may get lucky and park in China Town. But don't count on it if you plan your visit for the weekend. It's nice to walk around the streets or the nearby park, get something to snack on, learn about Chinese history, buy souvenirs, and so on. Depending on the time you arrive, different stores and restaurants will be open - bakeries and restaurants are usually open early, food stalls are more of an evening activity. There are even activities for kids, playgrounds, games, and gatcha machines.

It was just a nice walk in the China town located in Incheon. It is very convenient that you can take the line 4 Incheon line and the China Town entrance just opposite Incheon Station. I went there on Sunday and it was so crowded even with their local Korean . The food is very nice in China town, any choice but some of the famous shop need to have waiting list as too many customers during weekend

Incheon Chinatown
Incheon was most known as the airport for travellers coming to Seoul, but Incheon also has a spot that has a history of Chinatown in Korea where early Chinese migrants settled down in Korea in the 19th century. Early settlers mainly serves as profession as restaurant operators, chefs, barbers, tailors etc. Together they brought in delicacies such as Black bean noodles Jjajangmyeon and Seafood noodles Jjangpong. There are many old Chinese restaurants still operating today, and many museums with collections of vintage goods as well as the memories and stories of the migrants. There is a musuem dedicated to Jjajangmyeon as well, which tells the story of how one of the favourite dish brought over to Korea.

Incheon's Chinatown is Korea's only official Chinatown. It is in Jung-gu and was formed in 1884. It claims to be the largest Chinatown in South Korea, and features an 11-meter high Chinese-style gateway, or paifang. As of 2007 few ethnic Chinese live in the Incheon Chinatown. There are both many food and various attractions in Incheon chinatown. #wintergetaway
