Qinghai Provincial Museum

Qinghai is named after the largest inland saltwater lake in China, Qinghai Lake, located within its borders. Qinghai Province is the birthplace of the Yangtze River, the Yellow River, and the Lancang River, forming a multicultural composition with the Kunlun culture as the main body, and different ethnic cultures. Since the Paleolithic Age, the ancestors of Qinghai Province have been active and thriving in the Qaidam Basin and the Kunlun Mountains. The Qinghai Provincial Museum is located on the east side of Xinning Square in the west district of Xining city. In 2001, the new museum was completed and opened to the public. The museum's collection is most characterized by Neolithic painted pottery and ethnic religious artifacts. The permanent exhibitions include the Qinghai Historical and Cultural Exhibition and the Qinghai Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition. The main artifacts include a copper gilt Avalokitesvara, a spiral-patterned net-patterned painted pottery jug, a dance-patterned painted pottery basin, and so on. On this trip to Qinghai-Tibet-Gansu, I first took a high-speed train from Xi'an to Xining and stayed at the Qinghai Silver Dragon Hotel. The next day, I visited the very distinctive Qinghai Museum and casually strolled through the bustling areas of the city. I had previously visited Qinghai Lake and Ta'er Monastery, which left me with beautiful memories. On the evening of the third day, I took the Qinghai-Tibet Railway to Lhasa, embarking on a wonderful journey.
