One of the Four Great Academies of China - Bailudong Academy

Bailudong Academy is the most prestigious higher education institution in ancient China, known as the 'leader of all academies'. It is located under the Wulaofeng of Lushan, covering an area of more than 3,000 acres. During the Tang Dynasty (789-805), Li Bo, a scholar from Luoyang, lived here in seclusion and raised a white deer for entertainment. The deer followed him everywhere, hence he was called 'Mr. White Deer', and this place was named Bailudong. During the Southern Tang Dynasty (940), the court built the 'Lushan National Academy' here. The name of Bailudong Academy began in the early Northern Song Dynasty and was listed as one of the Four Great Academies along with Yueyang, Juyang, and Songyang. 📍Detailed address: Bailudong Academy Ticket: 40 yuan for adults, 20 yuan for children.
