There is an ancient city called Lin'an

This weekend, I took my family to Jianshui Ancient City in Honghe Prefecture. We drove from Kunming, about 190 kilometers away, all the way on the highway. It's not the first time we've been to Jianshui. This time we mainly focused on a leisurely trip, staying in the Hanlinyuan Hotel in the ancient city, and walking around the ancient city. On the first day, we went to the Xuezheng Examination Hall. The ticket was 30 yuan. We went inside to experience how the exams were conducted in ancient times, to gain some knowledge. The tour took about two to three hours. On the second day, we took the Jianshui Ancient City train, which runs twice a day. It departs at 9:00 in the morning from the Ancient City Train Station, passes through Shuanglong Bridge, a popular spot for social media check-ins, and then Xianghui Bridge, an old small platform, which is very picturesque. Finally, it arrives at Tuanshan Station at around 10:30. The train departs again at 13:00. In the meantime, you can take a free shuttle bus to visit Tuanshan Village. The train ticket costs 120 yuan, and it's recommended to book in advance because it's very popular. We were lucky that the hotel booked it for us the day before. You can drive there and park inside the train station, or take a taxi, or walk, because it's just on the edge of the ancient city. We returned to Lin'an Station (the departure station) at 13:40. After getting off the train, don't rush to leave. You can watch up close how the train changes direction. It's worth mentioning that the entrance fee to Tuanshan Village is 30 yuan per person, which I think is very worthwhile. Inside, you can eat meals and snacks, which are cheap and made from fresh ingredients. In the afternoon, we returned to the ancient city and visited the Lin'an Prefecture Office. The tour took about two hours. The ticket was very cheap. It's a good place to learn about the official system of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. We were lucky that there were performances during the New Year period, which took place inside the prefecture office. The performances started at seven in the evening. The combination of the dance and the setting of the Lin'an Prefecture Office created a series of beautiful scenes of ancient Lin'an. There are also other famous attractions in the ancient city, such as Jianshui Confucius Temple and Zhu Family Garden, which are not far from each other. That's why I say you can walk around the ancient city if you stay there. Finally, let's talk about the food. Jianshui barbecue is the main dish, and the snacks and drinks are very distinctive. As for which restaurant to choose, I feel that all the ones on the pedestrian street in the ancient city are good, with affordable prices and good taste. Overall, I really like Jianshui. I have friends in Jianshui. The city has a beautiful environment, is quiet, slow-paced, leisurely, and has a strong historical and cultural atmosphere. The people in the ancient city are friendly, hospitable, and humble. If you're tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, it's a great idea to take a walk in Lin'an, stay for a few days, and enjoy the peace and tranquility.
