A Visit to Huanglian Village

Twenty miles east of Cili City, there is a Huanglian Village, which is a must-pass place to climb Wulei Mountain. People say that the azaleas of Huanglian bloom, I have doubts about it: it's just past the minor cold, it's not the right season; and I think to myself: it's a warm winter this year, or is it early? Everyone is curious about it, and more than seventy friends and I went to see it. I observed that Huanglian Village is located at the end of the mountain valley, surrounded by mountains on three sides, shaped like a gourd. The middle and lower parts of the mountain are mostly gentle slopes, and the mountain land is in a soft ladder shape, planted with oranges or vegetables. Going up, the mountain suddenly rises, extremely steep, and awe-inspiring. The villagers mostly gather in the flat land in the valley, and there are also those who live by the mountain, scattered and layered, naturally formed. Some old trees shade new houses, some green bamboos hide old houses, some winter vegetables are dried in the front yard, and some firewood is neatly arranged in the back yard. Walking in the countryside, my heart is calm and warm. To see the azaleas, go straight to the back mountain. At first, walk along the gentle slope of the village road to the bottom of the valley; then, walk along the "Mao" highway winding up. The winter sun is also like fire, everyone takes off their winter clothes to walk lightly. After about an hour, those who are tired begin to appear. I am also sweating profusely, but I don't want to give up easily. Turn into the small path in the forest, the pine needles cover the ground and the road, it is difficult to step on the ground and the foot is easy to slip, only by holding the miscellaneous trees can you move forward. I asked those who had been there before: How far is it? They said: It's far, it's dangerous. I was worried that I couldn't make it, so I turned back the same way. Those who reached the top came back one after another, all looking tired, saying that those of us who turned back were foresighted. Hearing their words, I knew that the road was narrow and steep, thorny, often needing to climb in the rock crevices, and the dangers were everywhere. People asked: Are there flowers?
