Witnessing the Earth's Pulse: My First Experience at the Aso Crater

On the edge of the Aso crater, I experienced the earth's breath up close for the first time. White steam constantly billowed from the crater, accompanied by the smell of sulfur, a constant reminder that this is still an active volcano. Aso is one of the few places in the world where you can see a crater up close, and it is also the largest active volcanic group in Japan. Its central crater mound is still active, displaying its formidable power. Visiting in autumn or winter is particularly breathtaking. The cold air makes the view clearer, and the blue-green crater lake appears and disappears in the mist, creating a scene that is both spectacular and mysterious. I strongly recommend paying attention to the volcanic warnings and wind direction announcements for the day; safety first.
