5 Star Hotels in Yogyakarta

We booked the Melia Purosani directly through their website for a number of stays as it provided a good value price which included a 10-minute massage per room booking, a discount on food, and a room upgrade. On our first stay, we were upgraded to a ”Level” room on the sixth floor which came with Level Lounge privileges including afternoon tea. Having re-booked for three separate nights our expectations were that we would receive the same benefits. It seems our first stay involved a better-than-usual upgrade and we were very embarrassed to be turned away from the Level Lounge on our next stay - despite being in a Level Lounge room. Live and learn! The hotel is in good condition, the rooms are well-presented. Reception staff is courteous and helpful, and so too was the concierge at the Level Lounge who ”righted” the embarrassing situation we faced. The gardens and pool area are tropical, leafy, and well-maintained. Wi-Fi was adequate, but not super fast/ The property is within easy walking distance of Jalan Malioboro and other local attractions. I have rated the hotel's less-than-excellent restaurant El Patio separately. Truth be told, service and afternoon tea in the Level Lounge was superior to the restaurant.

This is a fancy place in a historical building in walking distance from the historical city centre. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the cuisine is excellent and the breakfast buffet wowed us. Food is served i.a. on an inner court, which is peaceful and quiet, away from the street noise. The pool, lays protected, and doesn’t have direct sunlight as of noon, which comes handy since these are the tropics. 

The number one hotel in Yogyakarta really deserves its reputation. Although the view from the room is not very good and there is no balcony, the overall service and comfort are very good. The breakfast was particularly great. Not only did it have most of the Indonesian delicacies and a variety of hand-brewed coffees to choose from, it was a pity that I didn’t take a photo of the coffee stall. There is also a huge gym with a lot of equipment and all used LIFEFITNESS. The swimming pool is also amazing. I will choose this hotel next time I go to Yogyakarta.

Good and friendly service. The location is a bit far to walk to Malioboro, you can easily use an online taxi. The swimming pool is okay, the atmosphere is also comfortable. Delicious breakfast!

The design quite modern compare to other hotel in Jogja and the location very strategic.With my experiences in many hotel 4 and 5 stars above this hotel just enough and don’t think twice just book with confident trust me you’ll thank me later

Villa Rosseno is a dream. From start to finish, the service, location and food has been the very best I have experienced and I have travelled all over the world. Meggie, Rusdi, Pee Wee, Teety and the rest of the team are the most beautiful people and took such good care of us, making our experience all the more special. Our villa was stunning and of course the kids loved the cats and the private swimming pool. The local villages around the hotel are also very picturesque and worth exploring on foot. The food was the BEST food I’ve eaten in Asia. We stayed for 9 nights and could have easily stayed for another 9 as there is so much to see in the area. To find a stunning accommodation which also includes a driver, food, private pool and laundry is very rare in Indonesia so you would be stupid not to book Villa Rosseno. You won’t be disappointed. My family and I would love to go back one day, a truly magical place with wonderful people, we will miss you all.

It's an upscale hotel. The staff are very welcoming and nice of them to upgrade us to Deluxe Premiere Double room. Bed is very comfortable and air conditioning is good (esp. for the hot weather). Cleanliness can be improved (eg toilet). Our room is right in front of the lift but we were not being disturbed by noises. Breakfast spread is good! Quite a few eateries around the hotel. Otherwise, taking Grab taxi to places is convenient and reasonable fares.

The receptionist did not explain regarding check in procedure and took my passport and share with Archipelago International and thick the boxes on my behalf. We have brought the matter up to the management. During breakfast the staff took our photos without our permission while we were eating. Kindly look into this matter. Do not take for granted on the privacy of guests.
