Very attentive staff with good recommendations for local producers to visit. Excellent food and service. Room was large, clean and comfortable.

Accommodation, food and staff all first class. Located a short way from the centre of Epernay makes for a relaxing experience. Just bear in mind that a car is really required to get around from there. Both restaurants and the breakfast service were able to cope with gluten free (coeliac) dietary requirements with no problem.

Food was excellent, not too much quantity and presented in a natural and delicious way. Spa was nice, room acceptable. Wifi reception poor in the guest rooms.

The hotel has been recently partially renovated, but not to the standard you expect for 5* in Europe. Obvious finishing errors visible all over the new finish. Not even a 4*. The prices are in no way justified by the product. The rooms are small and stuffy, if reasonably nicely decorated. We had a deluxe room. The bathroom was exceptionally poorly designed, with not enough storage to actually use it without things falling over all the time, not enough hanging space and a shower that ensures water floods the floor whenever you use it. All of the fixtures and fittings are of low quality, the very small shower tray is why the shower floods, despite its unsuitably narrow entrance. The bath is too small for most to comfortably use, and nothing hung up there had a chance to dry properly, as there wasn’t enough space to hang it separately. Room cleanings were still being done laate into the afternoon. The pool is roughly lined with plastic, and the jacuzzi in a very poor state, utterly unbefitting a 4* hotel. The exterior spaces and decorative garden are clearly under tended, and marred by loud road noise despite the wall separating the hotel and the street. A fixable issue, that should have been already with additional material. They didn’t seem to have enough staff to run the hotel, but the doorman, bar staff and our waiter were lovely despite the pressure they were clearly under. The food was good, but not exceptional. It will make a solid 4* hotel once a large investment has been made to renovate the property to a decent level.

This stay was such a disappointment. First, the staff was not friendly at all except for the bar manager, who had just started there. They were having their grand reopening while we were there but there were still workers everywhere completing projects throughout the hotel. Our room was small and the bathroom even smaller. We ran out of hot water in the shower. Housekeeping left dirty dishes and trash. Our dinner in the main restaurant wasn't what we were expecting. Both our main dishes were undercooked/raw and we sent both of them back. They did offer to bring new dishes but at this point it was too late in the evening to wait and eat. And to add insult to injury, we were still charged. We know Relaixs Chateau properties...and this wasn't one of them

This was our 3rd visit and it was extremely disappointing. Service in the bar and restaurant was woeful which is a major issue for a hotel trading on its restaurant quality. It took 20 minutes to obtain a drinks menu and 35-40 minutes to be served a drink (1 bottle of champagne). Restaurant orders were taken in the bar and 1 hour later only when we asked what was happening did we get seated and served in the restaurant. Our table for dinner was not set and did not even have a table cloth. Restaurant staff were quite dismissive of our complaints. Having sent an email to the hotel manager I received an apology and a discount off food and drinks. While recognising that the hotel has reopened after refurbishment and that staffing has not returned to normal, I prefer and expect reasonable service and not price reductions. The refurbishment has not really addressed previous issues with accommodation and even in the suite, the bathroom is very small with no surface area for toiletries etc. Rooms are not as luxurious as you might expect from a hotel of this standing but this was previously made up for by the restaurant and bar service. I will be exploring other options before next visit to this area.

Very good location, fresh air, good breakfast, on-site parking. The staff was nice. The room we stayed in was simple but had all the necessities and was perfect for short stay.

Great location, excellent food and wine/champagne in both restaurants. Wonderful friendly Service. A very good location to come back to from a trip through the Champagne region, to relax unwind, and enjoy a glas of Champagne.
