Andaz Vienna am Belvedere

Vienna|2.32km from Sunni Mosque
We have always had great stays with Andaz Munich Schwabinger Tor. We have stayed there many times and some were for a week or two weeks at a time. Everytime, we were upgraded to an Andaz suite, which had a simple ”kitchen” with a microwave. The Andas suite is very large and with an extra guest toilet. These upgrades have always been given without any SUA. So this past weekend, becasue of our great experience with Andaz Munich, when we decided to visit Vienna, we chose Andaz Vienna instead of PH Vienna. To be on the safe side, we used points and reserved 3 nights and asked our concierge to apply a SUA to the reservation. Well, when we opened the door and saw our room, we were disappointed to see how small and basic the ”suite” was. It was still a nice room, but half the size of the Andaz suites we were used to in Andaz Munich. The hotel had more rooms available for upgrades, becasue when we went down to the FD and inquired politely if there were any other upgrades that we could get, they offered another suite with an additional €80 per day and an ”even better” suite for an additional €120 a day. We took the first offered room and found the new room to be very similar to the Andaz suite in Andaz Munich. (Later on we found out from other globalists that they have negotiated it down to €50 a day. ) We are curious as to what kind of room we would have been ”upgraded” to as a globalist, if we did not use an SUA. The room they offered after applying an SUA was the saddest that we have gotten. I think this is prob one of the reasons that Andaz Vienna is a cat 3 hotel. Except for the free breakfast, we did not feel anything special as a globalist. We did get a late check out. Andaz Vienna is a stone throw from Vienna Hauptbahnhof vs. PH Vienna is in the center of the old town. I think if we added up the extra € per day plus the taxi fares that we spent each day, it will make sense next time to stay in PH Vienna instead. It is Cat 6, requires more points, but I am sure they will treat Globalists much better than the Andaz Vienna.

Rainers Hotel Vienna

The hotel is conveniently located between the train stations between MID and HBF. There are several routes to choose from in 5 minutes walk. You can buy Vienna traffic tickets for a very high price! The hotel can store luggage, has a refrigerator, a blower, the room is more spacious, the bed is very soft, there is air conditioning and heating. There are also many restaurants nearby. It is convenient to go to attractions. The shoe-shoe machine on the first floor of the lobby is good.
A&t Holiday Hostel

We were a large group of 165 students and spent a week in December at a&t Holiday Hostel and were very pleasantly surprised by our accommodation. The check-in was very quickly and easy despite the size of our group, the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very spacious and clean. The hostel is located in a residential neighborhood, so it was relatively quiet. In the bathrooms (every room had one) were large mirrors mounted and alongside the shampoo/douche gel there were even cosmetic clothes, which I usually know only from hotels but not from a hostel. On breakfast buffet I can say that it was more than enough and the quality was also very good (According to local information, honey and cheese are even from domestic production). We had ordered the dinner menu when booking and these were also extraordinary good (3-gangig, part also for vegetarians). The receptionists have always given patience in questions (in particular our students), whether they had a lot to do at the moment or not. The hostel is located in a slightly southern part of Vienna, but through the near metro you could reach the city centre (Stephansdom) very quickly. All in all it was a very pleasant stay, the price-performance ratio is excellent and I can only warmly recommend the hostel.
7 DAYS PREMIUM HOTEL VIENNA - SOUTH

Room- The room was renovated 3 years ago and seems VERY new which was a big plus. However: NO fridge/minibar, NO phone in room , NO table, NO chair, NO couch/sofa, NO closet (hangers available), NO English Channel on TV. NO Netflix (even though there’s a Netflix button on the remote control). Air conditioner worked fine (cooling). Drapes managed to block outside light in by about 90%. Wi-Fi- Wi-Fi was at a low quality and speed and disconnected much of the time. Hotel area- It’s difficult to locate the hotel from the street and there’s no easy visible sign. You enter through a passageway in the middle of a big building. The reception is located on 3rd floor. The rooms are on the floors above. Area- Billa plus supermarket nearby. Early check in- My experience in travelling around the world has shown that usually (in the large majority of the times), when arriving early, if the hotel has an available room they would let you in for free and not delay you until the normal check in time. I arrived at about 7 AM and asked to check in early. They had a room but requested an additional payment for this which made the deal for this hotel, which is not centrally located, less worthwhile. I wrote them beforehand that I request an early check in. It seems they sent a message about this which wasn’t received. (Had I known this in advance I most probably would have chosen a better hotel option (one that was more expensive but at a better location). Getting to town and airport- To get to town by public transport you can take a 10 minute walk to the number 1 tram on Windtenstrasse, that takes you to Karlsplatz station. From there you can take other forms of transportation like various U bahn routes. A taxi to/from the airport cost on Bolt €34.50. If you’re one person you can save by taking public transportation (or even a taxi) to the S7 train to the airport Tip: Save money- don’t take the CAT airport train (costs €14.50). Use the S7 airport train which does the same route to Wien Mitte station, (only 9 minutes more) and costs only €4.30. Btw, Some of this cost (S7 only) can be saved when purchasing a 24/48/72 hour transportation ticket. Breakfast- Relatively nice breakfast for a 3 star hotel: Eggs scrambled but precooked, cooked 3/5 minute eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, jams, buns, plain croissants, yellow cheeses, meat like salami and s*****en, fruit salad, some fruit, coffee machine, tea, cold drink machine, some cereals and yoghurt. Jimmy's Apartments Dandelion

It's free contact hotel. Reception doesn't exist. All instructions and explanations through messages. The explanations are very clear. Breakfast, which is arranged with the restaurant that is 5 minutes' walk away, is good, nothing more than that. Please note that there is no room service during your stay. Changing towels and removing garbage is required to be done by yourself. Towels can be taken in the lounge which is located on the entrance floor. On the nursery floor there is a luggage room where you can leave them before check-in or after check-out. It is very easy to get to the city center using tram number 1. Please note, the hotel is located in an area full of reservoirs from all over the world and the atmosphere is not the most pleasant or safe, especially in the evening.
Citadines South Vienna - Europe

We were familiar with the group of city centres in France and we were not disappointed with their service in Vienna. The apartments are spacious, decorated with taste and the bedroom is comfortable (even the sofa bed). Tramway 1 is 2 minutes walking distance and allows you to reach the centre in less than 15 minutes. There are several supermarkets with less than 500m. If you have a car, a few points to know: the city park is very small and very fast full so book early (the nearest parking is cheap 3.60€/h 36€/day). In the street, the parking is free weekend and night from 22h to 7h. If there was just one comment to do, the coffee machine is. This latter has special capsules (format professionnel nespresso) not found in the commerce (only online), so they must be purchased by lot from 4 to 3.70€ a l'accueil.
Hotel Allegro Wien

Very good value for money. Ctrip's standard triple room (private guest only), the actual room is a large bed, a small bed, a number of sofas, so it is suitable for family travel. The room is large and the hotel is generally clean. The breakfast was small and beautiful, and it tasted good. It was a surprise. There is no air conditioning and a floor fan is available. The floor is very old. The front desk service is friendly and can store luggage. Although it is not a friendly walking distance from the inner city, the public transportation at the entrance of the hotel is very convenient. There is only one stop on the railway station (S line) from the central railway station, which is suitable for going back and forth between Budapest and Prague.
