As you drive into Uttwil, the hotel is easily seen, a beautiful 300 year old timbered house. Our room was everything you could want on a journey, typically well furnished Swiss. The Proprietaire was charming and friendly. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well, despite the room being on the main road, because the windows are so well insulated and the blinds are great, so you could easily sleep in after dawn. The bathroom excellent. We asked for no breakfast, but the facilities looked welcoming. There is a decently sized car park. Pretty well faultless and brilliantly situated, a short walk from the lake, where there is a very nice lakeside restaurant serving decent salads and burgers etc.
