This is supposed to be a five star hotel? I honestly think they bribed the government to get the stars This hotel is not even 2 stars 1- : the weather was very hot and the AC was not working, we called several times and all response were someone will come and fix it till we checked out it wasn’t fixed 2- When we checked in we were told breakfast from 7-1:30 am we went down 10:00 and we were told we finished at 9:30!!! Because no one came to eat so we closed the buffet. 3- no toiletries in the hotel .. imagine you call the reception and she tells you go and buy one! 4- no tv channels in the tv 5- hotel is very outdated maybe like 20 years old or I think when Tunisia use to be part of the Moroccan kingdom 6- swimming pool was very dirty 7- 2 people had to share same towel in the room as they only provide ONE towel per room. If I will keep adding I won’t stop Finally advise: stay away and don’t book this hotel, the 2 star hotel downtown more cleaner and friendly than this one

Hotel was in a dramatic state. Reception staff had a behavior that was worse than unprofessional. Room state was really poor (moldy silicon in bathroom, floor indescribable, chairs discolored,…). 1 person took me to the room (he didn’t leave me the choice even if I declined) and made a « check » by turning ON lamps but out of 4, 3 didn’t turn on and the control was good for him. When I was back down, this person wanted to « show me » the cash machine with extreme insistance. When I called the reception to get some lamp fixed a first time I waited more than 40 minutes to call back. I was greeted by the receptionist hanging up on me. Also I had a smoking spot in front of my door which made me enjoy every cigarets that was smoked in the area directly in my room. Unbelievable. Never in my life again. Even if I’m paid to go.

The staff was very nice, welcoming, professional - and would say are the big plus of why to choose this hotel. The breakfast buffet has an impressive wide and fresh selection - another big plus. On the other hand, the hotel looks very tired - from dirty walls, damaged carpets, dark halls and broken pool chairs - the property owners maybe should spend some money on that instead of the luxury cars parked there...

Arrived at 11:30PM. Gate security asked if we were here to visit the beach or the hotel. Right there should have been a warning sign. However politely answered, parked the car and walked to the reception. There was a conference and a lot of people had just arrived, it was utter chaos and a considerable amount of smoking which is always off putting in the reception area. However, there was a superb security guard in the lobby who told us to sit down while he managed to jump the queue for us and get us checked in quicker. He was the ONLY good thing about this hotel. We were shown to our room which was on a floor level that reminded me of a dungeon, it was dark, very dirty and not very pleasant at all. I noted some food on the floor as we were walking along and it came as no surprise that the food was still there when I checked out. WiFi is patchy at best. Breakfast is just about OK, again, the waft of smoking from outside the room is not great but certainly adds to the flavour of your eggs :-( My key card failed meaning going back to reception to ask for a new one. The lady who attended to me looked like she had been awake for 6 days, no apology, no explanation, just took the card and handed a new one. On check out I explained all of this to the male colleague who prepared my invoice. He gave a half hearted apology but I got the feeling that this had not been the first time he had heard these issues. My wife travels to this area A LOT, in the last month she has stayed a total of 12 nights in the area and has also booked rooms for International travellers totalling at least another 10. Her work plans mean I think she will be needing rooms for at least 75 days this year. Sadly not one of them will ever be here again. The only good thing is the sevurity guard in the lobby. If it wasn;t for him I would have refused to pay.

Poor & slow customer service, rooms smelled like painting, elevator buttons ripped off their places, needed to carry kids stroller to get to breakfast area .. there is potential but no will, utterly not a 4 stars hotel, could be 3 if everything was in a good shape

The Caribbean on the edge of the Mediterranean When you first arrive at the Regency Hotel in the suburb of Gammarth near the capital Tunis, you pass through the reception hall and a carefully-arranged garden that reminds you of the unique a**osphere of the Caribbean. Then, you walk along wooden corridors to discover a setting that looks like a forgotten piece of paradise: Here lies the Sanremo swimming pool, the restaurant and the disco, bordering a sandy beach that tempts the visitor to dive and swim in the warm waters. A large number of hospitality workers make their best to transform the hours you spend at Sanremo into an unforgettable experience, offering a variety of cocktails, iced drinks, appetizers and different seafood meals, including sea urchin and lobster. The a**osphere, marked by joyfulness and carefully-selected music, can be enjoyed at every hour of the day. And as the sun sets, one can share the dance floor with hand-picked guests. We rate our experience at Sanremo, 9 points out of 10. However, the only thing that can challenge this Mediterranean-Caribbean dream is the heavy presence of the constantly grumpy manager, who acts more like a doorman than a host. Our advice: please try to avoid him.

Even if the 5* classification is completely misguided here, we can consider that inside the hotel, the infrastructure is of a good standard: it is clean and comfortable, it has aged, but remains correct. Except for breakfast, where the coffee machine didn't make a drop of milk all week, heavily stained tablecloths, no small spoons, lack of large ones. Thieves who use the buffet to prepare their meals for the day should be severely reprimanded. The exterior is really dirty and degraded, like the deckchairs and beach furniture and swimming pool, in which some women swim fully clothed - hello hygiene -, the lawn is more earth than grass, all the corners are unmaintained, the facades are peeling, in short, a desolate environment which tarnishes the stay. The price, of course, remains attractive but would be more so by erasing these too many imperfections.
