We had booked a one bedroom premium apartment city view and we're looking forward to 5 star accommodation with our young children. At check in was told we had an upgrade which I was hoping for as an accor Gold Member, we entered the room with an amazing view but that was the only positive the room was run down, tattered carpet, dated furniture and was a low level just above a patio that was under construction just very basic and not good enough for the price we paid. I went to the reception to voice my displeasure but was told they were fully booked and nothing could be done so I suggested they give me a downgrade to the premium room that I originally booked which they reluctantly did as it seemed like an inconvenience to them. The room was nicer as it had recently been renovated, new kitchen bench, paint job, new furniture. Bathroom hadn't been done and showing age with cracked grout, mould and chipped bath and washer dryer could have been 20 years old but did the job. Room was on a lower floor overlooking the road heading towards harbor bridge. We had breakfast included which was pretty good although they did manage to stuff up our order each morning forgetting parts of the dish. The pool was great, good temperature and fantastic views our kids loved it. Location was good but hills and steps a bit annoying with a pram. Overall this place is nothing special I booked it as an accor member but probably won't return as there are better options and value available elsewhere.

Great location right in the centre of The Rocks area in Sydney. Located on George St, the hotel is opposite the Overseas Cruise Terminal, surrounded by plenty of restaurants and pubs and is beside the Rocks Markets that are open on weekends. While the location is superb, sadly the hotel is very much underwhelming in comparison to what I've experienced at other Rydges properties. The hotel is old, but not in an old world style, just plain old and tired. Bed was comfortable and the rooms are very much basic. Apart from a desk and chair, there was only one other chair and no lounge in the room. As a warning to anyone who has access issue, each of the floors are on two levels and the lifts don't stop on the alternative levels so you'll need to use a flight of about 8 steps between each level. My room had the shower over the bath which was only just over 3 foot long. The shower ceiling was so long that I couldn't stand up properly and the hot water was so scolding hot (obviously no tamping valves) that with the cold water on full I only just turned the hot on otherwise it was too hot. Rooms are individually air conditioned but with ours set to 19.5° it was still really warm. The TV is so low it's near impossible to watch from the bed (remember no lounge or table to sit at) and really needs to be mounted on the wall. On a positive the staff were really good, friendly and helpful, though I was alarmed to watch the young lady checking people into the restaurant for breakfast, walk past and pick up a piece of bacon from the surface area beside the bowls and toss it back in with the other bacon and then mix it in with the rest.

Located in The Rocks, walking distance to Circular Quay. Need to be a mountain goat to walk here, especially with luggage. Once dropped off, explore the beautiful Rocks area. I caught the train to Circular Quay, where the Opera House and Harbour Bridge is. Then walked up many, many stairs to get here. Well worth it. Very modern, even though it's built over an archaeological site of part of the old Rocks area. Beautifully done and preserved. Room was very modern and clean, albeit expensive for a double ensuite room. But i did not mind paying for the location and cleanliness. Bathroom modern and clean. Lockers available for long term hire. I can not rate it highly enough The rooftop of this hostel!!?? Absolutely second to none. Perfect views of the Opera House, Bridge and harbour

The hotel is beautiful, perfectly clean and comfortable to stay in. The guest service employees were extremely helpful. While I checked out I needed to wait for about 15 minutes for housekeeping to check my room whether I consumed anything from the mini bar. That was the only thing that made me uncomfortable. But overall I’m satisfied and I would definitely come back.

There aren't many basic facilities in the room.. Such as indoor slippers and mineral water (this price is not cheap, even the water is not willing to give.. too much!!!!) I wanted to live here and I could have a view of the opera house.. but not at the same price, I can live in a good hotel. Then because of the encounter with the vivid Australia festival... The road was sealed... I called the front desk to help me call the car to the airport, and specifically asked her where to wait (I know the road seal)... As a result, she was completely unaware of it. Call me at the hotel.. The result is that the car can't come in... It also delayed my time... Finally, they didn't help at all... I have to drag my bulky luggage to the road to call the car. 😡😡😡 In summary, there is no need to live here... The same geographical location, there are many other options😎
