We are visiting Alishan, Sun-moon lake so make a stop at Taichung and we find this is a nice hotel and nice room and facilities are well equipt , we like hotel breadfast at the cafe which supply a bit variety of Asian food + American food too. It's a pity we only for a night , next trip I will plan to come back here for few days stay to explore Taitung.

Although Evergreen is a long-established hotel, the interior of the room is really neat and clean. However, there was a problem with the TV system when we first entered the room, and the housekeeping staff quickly took care of it and completed it. Thank you very much! Would like to highlight an issue we encountered with regards to our deposit and certain charges that were made to us but which we had not incurred. When we were checking out, we asked to have a look at our statement of charges as we understood that any additional charges would be offset by the deposit placed with the hotel. We had dinner at ”The Prime -Grill and Lounge” on one of the nights and just wanted to check if the charges were right. The statement showed 3 separate bills that were not incurred by us and were all purchases of alcohol, which we found strange. When we brought this up with the front desk, the staff did not seem surprised at all with the error or sought to verify the same anywhere nor were we given any apology for the mistake. It was as though she already knew that those 3 charges were unanauthorised transactions and said that the hotel would rectify the issue with the bank in respect of our deposit. The front desk was also very adamant to not let us speak to her manager about the issue. We just wanted to highlight the above because we would usually just trust the hotel to refund the right amount of deposit without checking, especially when using credit card to pay the same. But it may be worth checking when it comes to this hotel as based on the reaction which we got from the front desk, it seems that such mistakes whether intentional or not have happened before. We also hope that the hotel would do some sort of investigation into how issues like this could happen.

Checked in multiple times Sound insulation is less than ideal This time I stayed on the 23rd floor and had a great view. The room is very comfortable. It is very cold at 20 degrees when you enter the room. After that, you can adjust the temperature to your own comfort. It would be more suitable if a USB socket is provided.

Near the exit door - and creepy feeling when returned to hotel at night - exit is Near lift lobby and will sure need to walk by (lights are turned off). Bathroom is rather small (family suite). The plus points - amenities are DIY on level 1. Can top up ourselves without having to wait for Housekeeping. Location is 7 mins walk to Fengjia night market. Near to eateries and bakery. Our 1st trip to Taichung. Would imagine hotel rates in Taichung would be more affordable than Taipei. Turned out its more expensive than Taipei Ximending area.

One of my favourite hotel!! Breakfast is very nice with a lot of options to choose. Love that there is TV in the toilet. The room is spacious for 4 adults. The downside is that the hotel is in the middle of the road. So it is a bit hard to cross the road if there is a lot of car driving pass.

Right at Fengchia Night Market, and in the shopping area, convenient with public transport. Walls are thin and we can hear inconsiderate tourists talking loudly right outside our door late at night and early morning. Kettle had white mist floating after boiling but hotel staff said it’s a normal sight in Taiwan. He said he has experience working in different hotels in Taiwan and has seen this countless times 🤨

It is within walking distance from Fengjia Night Market, there are convenience stores and supermarkets around, and it is convenient and the price is not expensive.
