We need pet friendly accommodations when traveling, and Sleep Inn has been there for us for many years. Stony Creek is a location of choice and every previous interaction with staff has been amazing. One of our pets requires a special diet that requires that it be kept in a frozen state. We have a special insulated bag with freezer blocks inside that maintains the food while on the road, but must be stored in a freezer overnight to re-establish the freeze before the next day. Every location and every stay has been amazing at providing freezer space for us, until this stay…….. I will simplify the rest because I tend to get wordy 1) When Barba thought the bag had medicine, she was going to take it and put it in the freezer overnight 2) When she found out it contained cat food, without even looking at the security of the container, she proclaimed it would not be put in their freezer, implying that it would contaminate other contents 3) I explained this has been done happily for us for years and is a reason we came to the hotel. 4) When I then stated that a second choice would be having a room with a functioning freezer, Barba stated she could not provide me that either. 5) I asked for a manager, and was told I could speak with one on Monday. (it is currently Saturday night) 6) When I was expressing my distress and frustration at the spoilage of this speciality food, Barba made a point of turning to other guest and proclaiming that “she was not going to put cat food in their freezer”. 7) When Barba later slipped and stated that she could not take it because “it would not fit”. I pointed out that she was going to fit it into the freezer when it was medication. She replied that she was going to move things for medication, but not for cat food. So this was clearly a choice for her, and not something that was not physically impossible like she was now claiming. 8) Barba offered cubed ice and I explained how the temperature of melting ice is not a freezing temperature and the integrity of the specialty food will be compromised and will have to be thrown out. 9) Barba claimed she was going to call and discuss with manager. After 30 minutes of hearing nothing, I went to desk for follow up. Yes, she had called, but not updated me. ”Manager was busy until later” and “supervisor would not allow” either. I am very confused about this manager vs the supervisor as no such person was offered earlier when I was needing assistance. 10) I spoke with 800 number looking for support. They called front desk and Barba was back to claiming contamination issues.
