Peace Garden Beach Resort

Overpriced and oversold. Peaceful it was not, “deluxe” it was not. We booked 9 nights in a deluxe sea front cabin. There was a business training function taking place that they had rented most of the rooms out for, and was hosted directly under our room. Upon arrival the manager asked me if, “we go to bed early?”. Assuming it was for one night, I ignored this and we went out for dinner. I’m a reasonable guy. For 4 days and nights we had a full-on 20 or so NLP training group below our room (which is made of tin so they might just as well be with you). We were woken by them each day at 7am, then during the day they were making noise below us, then at night, the same. On the 4th night we had had enough. They were screeching and shouting at 9pm, below us, so I went and asked the staff to put a stop to it. This worked for all of 15 mins. At 10pm I had to go down and ask them all to shut up as we were trying to sleep. We could not even hear the sound over them on my laptop trying to watch a movie at 8pm. By this stage we had had enough. Not only with the constant noise, but also having to walk through a corporate training session in our swimmers when we returned from the beach. I had prepaid for half the booking of 9 nights. On day 5, after 4 nights, I told the manager we wanted to checkout as this was unacceptable and we were not comfortable staying there, especially after having to tell a large part of the residents to be quiet. He point blank refused to compromise , telling me we had no right to cancel under the booking terms and conditions. We both explained to him that the easiest and fairest solution was to let us leave , having already paid for the time we had spent there, plus some extra. He was not having it, questioning how it affected us, and telling us nowhere else would be “quieter”. At this point he walked away to "think about it". The manager did put the business group on a table on the beach for their last night so we could sleep, and this was appreciated. I think they all had a better time too, The room was far from “deluxe”. Over the 1st 4 days we had no hot water on day 1, tepid water on day 2, pump failure on day 3, and no water again on day 4 when my partner was trying to wash off soap in the shower. There was a state wide power outage on one day which was planned and no one thought to warn us about so we didn't charge up laptops and phones. The upstairs "deluxe" rooms also have no privacy on the balcony if you are on the "wrong" side of the dividing curtains. When they come up the stairs the first thing they see is you. The rooms are cleaned every other day, when they actually turn up, which is not always, as you have to wait while they work as reception won’t give them a key. The rooms are also not sealed at all. The bathroom fan vents don’t close, so we had to leave it on 24/7 to limit what came back into the room through it, the front door has a gap big enough for fingers to fit underneath. Staying in peace garden 2 weeks already. Everything has been great from the start. Deepak, Salish and the crew have been super attentive, organizing a scooter for me at a nice monthly rate, suggesting places to go and tips on everything local. The food is beautiful. Chicken curry's are delish and great portions. Chilly chicken unreal ! Have eaten breakfast everyday here with the perfect view. Sunset is unreal here and the vibe matches ! My hut is perfect and has Perfect working AC. Pillows and mattress super cozy with mosquito net included ! Shower with clean hot or cold water. Cleaners are fab and do laundry. They have Heinz beans also for the Irish and English lovers ! They have free clean drinking water in the restaurant. The restaurant has a lovely cool breeze and chill music. They also show the sports here ! Wild bulls can be seen roaming past on the beach beautiful ! Unfortunately they will be closed at the end of May for Rainy season just like a lot of other beach hut resorts. I will look forward to coming back in September ! a home from home. Truly relaxing and the beach is pristine and quiet with lifeguard right outside the restaurant. Thanks Deepak and team for making my stay so welcoming !

The staff are great and very friendly, room's are comfortable with spectacular views, food was excellent and the beer was cold, what more do you need , the guys in this resort will help you with whatever you need tuktuk, taxi's, best boat trips, airport transfer ect

Wonderful beach view restaurant, with lovely food and drinks. We loved the ginger honey lemonade to the extent we drank 2 litres. If you are here ask chef Sushil to prepare the Red snapper Rechado , calamari fry, honey chilli potato . We sat from 12 pm to almost 4 pm on Christmas Eve slowly savouring the delicious meal by the awesome beach. The warm and friendly behaviour enriched our experiences.

Absolutely incredible. I have travelled to Goa over 10 times and this is my favourite place on all the beaches north to south. The food is incredible, and the service is polite and swift. Rooms are lovely and simple, but the real gem about the rooms is the beach view from the room (stay in the seafront cottages - amazing). But we need to talk about the beach. The beach is virtually untouched and unlike pretty much anywhere else in Goa, there are so few places here you basically have the beach to yourself (it's not a small beach). Honestly it's like a slice of heaven. Also there aren't any hawkers which is a welcome respite from north Goa/palolem in particular. If you want to spend your days chilling out on a idyllic beach, drinking amazing cocktails, having insane food, in a totally off the beaten track place with great hosts that care so much about their customers, you've found your place. The food: dangerously good. The host, Deepak, takes real pride in his food and drink. Some of the best fish, lobster, crab, prawns, kingfish and pomfret I've had across Goa. The restaurant: super super chilled out place, always a really nice vibe and clientel (I've been here 3 times now). If you're reading this, lucky you.

To be really honest, in the first 2-3 hours of reaching the resort, we were searching for a hotel to shift in. For the price we paid, not having an A/C was a big No No. It was directly beach-facing and the room was not what we expected. However, we decided to stay the night as the owner said, it will get really cold at night and it did. This place is ideal for couples as it's a total cut-off from the crowd, you can just explore the beach, and chill at the restaurant, star gazing at night. The food has been amazing, tailormade food. The staff is interactive and friendly ( we both are extroverts). A good set of cocktails, and soothing music, plus point for dog lovers as pets are allowed. Deepak was extremely welcoming and after talking to him we decided to stay back. We are glad we did stay back. See you again AFTAB & SAPNA
