This is our second time booking Sissi bay hotel. Our first visit was in 2019 but sadly with the covid situation we haven't been on vacation all this time. One more time we felt so satisfied about choosing this hotel for our holidays. It's for sure a value for money choice.Arriving at the hotel we were very welcomed from the reception staff giving us all information needed about the hotel. Our room was very clean and was like that during all the days we were there.Fresh towels and bed sheets were changed so often. During the day you can always enjoy the sun by the pools(3 big pools, 1 of them only for adults)around the hotel which are always clean and filled with salty water. Food again was excellent and tasty. Can't understand why some people complain about it .You get a nice breakfast including eggs, bacon, omelets, pan cakes, waffles ,different pastries every day ,yogurt, cereals ,plenty of fresh fruits ,fresh bread ,different kind of cheeses ,ham ,coffee, tea ,juices and many other things that I can't remember right now.Lunch and dinner have always a good variety of main courses ,fresh vegetables and tasty mix salads ,and a good variety of fruits and desserts. You always taste Greek traditional dishes and also international savors.During the dinner there is always fresh pizza different every day ,grill ,and freshly cooked pasta or risotto. The buffet has every day different choices of meat, fish ,seafood, vegetables etc and always fresh..as I said at the beginning of my review value for money. The staff all over the hotel is very polite ,kind and helpful...they work very hard and they try their best for the clients. Mare blue bar has a great location in front of the sea to enjoy the Greek sunset with a few nice cocktails. Thanks for making our holidays so relaxed and enjoyable. We look forward to visit that place soon.

We've just recently returned from our second holiday at Sissi Bay Hotel - a really perfect 8 days! Our sea view room was lovely, the place is so clean. We went all inclusive - the choice of food and drink is impressive. For 10E I would definitely recommend going to the Greek night on a Thursday - the food and entertainment is well worth it. Sissi itself is such an unspoit gem, and the hotel is such a short walk for the beautiful harbour. We've had such an wonderful time - and we've already booked to go back in May - we can't wait!! Thank you for a great time!

Sissi Bay is a hotel with a lot of options: different kinds of rooms, 3 pools and cocktail-bars within it! Perfect for families but also for young people. It has a quiet and chill atmosphere and it’s perfect for relaxing! the staff, as well as almost every single person in the island of Crete, is open and kind, and they offer a big smile to every customer. from the receptionist and the room service to the waitresses, all of them deserve a huge applause for their engagement. After all, they make of your stay a wonderful and unforgettable experience! The receptionist even lent me a lamp when I needed one on my nightstand. Furthermore, the hotel offers you every Thursday the opportunity to take part in a Greek Evening, which I can only recommend. Lastly, I’d like to make a suggestion: since a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle is nowadays more common than years ago, the buffet should be more specific when it comes to the ingredients. Maybe just upgrade the tags you already place next to the different dishes and specify “vegan”/“vegetarian”/“lactose free”/“gluten free” (as an example). Nevertheless, as a vegan, I still always managed to find something to eat!

After a long wait for this holiday I am very disappointed with everything, the rooms are nothing like the pictures no wonder they don’t have the bathrooms in any pictures one person can just about stand in there the shower is tiny, the food is horrendous nothing to choose from had to eat out every night even though we are all inclusive. The lady at the tropical bar was lovely, that’s the only Benefit for this place is the staff!!! And having to pay €9 a day for air con when we have already paid money to stay at the hotel is ridiculous. The room has a hard bed that I’ve woken up with a bad back every night, we were suppose to have a garden view room it’s not it’s just looking at other buildings. The food is all just sat in oil the whole time, it’s not good at all. The pool areas are nice, indoor pool isn’t open have to pay to use the gym, and even have to pay for water activities, water polo etc. I’ve never known a hotel like it and I go away a few times a year. On arrival we were delayed and arrived to hotel and to be told we have to pay a service room charge which is about €3 a day but they don’t accept bank cards so we then had to walk at 1am to find a ATM, after a long day flying, and pregnant is the last thing that I wanted to do. I’m not a person to write a bad review but people need to know before booking this place, it’s nothing like the pictures.

Amazing holiday, some memories made that we will never forget as a family. We stayed all inclusive 24th July - 8th August as a family of 4. On arrival we weren’t happy with the room, so was worried that I would be seen as another complainer by the staff - I spoke to the lady at reception who greeted me with a smile and was totally understanding, she sorted us another room the next day once the previous occupants had vacated the room and it was cleaned, this new room was really great and the air conditioning was excellent too! The 3 pools are great, they have a quiet adult pool if required and another 2 pools which are great. The food was absolutely brilliant, something different each night, I have 2 girls 18 years and 13 years they loved the food on offer, the attempt at a full English wasn’t the best as there were hotdog sausages and bacon wasn’t like in England but shouldn’t really complain about this as we weren’t in England we were in Greece, the girls loved the pancakes Nutella and peanut butter, fruit cereal and lots of other bits and bobs, the coffee machine was great in the morning and the coffee was really nice too. I’d definitely recommend the Greek night at least one Thursday too for €10 pp was a great experience and real fun! The Tropical bar by the pool was excellent as were the cocktails which were at an extra charge (I’m not surprised at this though as they were absolutely amazing all made with real branded alcohol and were fresh, a lot went into making these) The staff were absolutely brilliant! Antonis (The Greek God ) was really up for a laugh, we went with another family we made friends with to Cactus Bar where he sings traditional Greek songs, he was brilliant and was superb with the kids too, we will miss him and the staff at the Tropical bar. All of the staff work so hard to make sure everyone has the best stay during your time there, they out some time in shift wise and the cleaners work day and night too and do a great job. I really hope to come back to this hotel one day, the occupants were mainly German, we met some great people there even with the language barrier . To all the staff, thanks so much for a great stay! After a mess up with our original hotel we were placed at Sissi Bay late at night. The hotel staff had little to no warning we were coming but welcomed us warmly and gave us an option of rooms to choose from. We decided on a family room that could accommodate all 4 of us together. The room was clean, had a nice balcony and was located right by the pool and tropical bar. All the staff were very friendly and helpful especially when asked about excursions and meal times. We were given a Greek night ticket complimentary for our second night which was great fun, highly recommend going. Food was good, same sort of food every day but there was always something to eat. Housekeep who cleaned our room was lovely, could have used another bin in the room though. Considering we were not meant to stay here it was surprising pleasant and relaxing.

The pictures on sites are so far from what the reality is of that hotel. The rooms are very small, the furniture is very very old. The conditions are far from the "all-inclusive" they pretend to sell. You must pay even for the second key in your room if you want a second key. That was something I have never seen in any hotel in the world. They have a Greek evening once a week, so they ask you for money even for that event - another 10 euro if you want to join and if you don't want to join the dinner is till 7.45 which is totally unacceptable. They don't have any beach at the hotel, you must walk to the closest beach at least 1 km, and again you must pay for everything there since is not the hotel beach. The pools are very very small. If you want a real coffee you have to pay for it. I asked one morning for some water at the bar and the bartender started to scream at me that the bar is not open and he doesn't give me any water. In the rooms is very very hot during the night, you can't sleep with the air conditioner open. The food is not the best. They treat you with a lot of disrespect when you ask for something. They even asked you to pay if you wanted to weigh the luggage on their scales.

Have just come back from Sissi Bay Hotel, a group of 5 ladies, unfortunately we were very disappointed with some aspects of the hotel. We had a room which slept 3/4 a double bed and 2 singles, which was fine, but the rooms are set in a half circle, with a tiny place to sit outside, the room itself was big,but 1 small wardrobe with 2 drawers, and 3 bedside cabinets, wasn't anywhere near big enough for all our clothes! Only bin was in the bathroom for toilet paper. Would be nice to have a tea and coffee making facility, as do most hotels now! The other bone of contention was the food, very poor quality, not a good selection at all at either breakfast or dinner! Didn't accommodate lactose intolerant guest, The staff in reception were very good, helpful and polite, as were the cleaners who did an excellent job, Would we stay again.....no and to be honest wouldn't recommend to friends!

This is my personal opinion of the hotel in October 2022. Firstly we arrived at about 22.30 and there was nowhere to get anything to eat only drink. But there were other people arrived at the same time but were German or Dutch and they got a meal. When I asked the question about this I was told quote we did not know what time you were arriving unquote. This was a bare faced lie as BA only have one flight a day in any out. I had asked for a twin room if possible as this is our preference said they had accommodated this request but when we were going to our room we had 3 flights of stairs to get to the room which was a chore with no help with cases. For a 4 star hotel I thought was bad. The room was fine but we did not know we were directly over the only bar that was open and the thumping music went on till 24.45. Thought we could suffer in silence but I had to ask reception to lower the music at midnight I would mind so much but we only had 54 people in the whole hotel at this time of year. Anyway we suffered for 10 out of 14 nights but could not stand it any longer so told reception this was the worst room we have ever had in the 30 years of travelling she tried to apologise and gave us another room on the same floor but away from the noise BUT all night long in this room there was a drone of machinery every 5 minutes not loud but earplugs were necessary. Please do not have room 38 if you don't want to sleep or room 37 with drone noise all night. I could go on and on with this hotel but to brief - food not I would call 4 star at all, beautiful views at front of ocean with chairs but nowhere to get a snack or drink bar/cafe shut. Only one bar open out of 3 or 4. If it wasn't for the waitresses and the barman ir would have been worse. We were the last two people to leave the hotel 24th October then its totally shut. Staff putting chairs away and taking down name boards is something else. I could go on and on but will not be going back to this hotel ever, it is definitely not a 4 star who ever owns this hotel needs to up their game.
