Phuket Graceland Resort and Spa

Traveling with friends, the hotel is in a lively area but the room was quiet. It has several swimming pools, and the beach is just across the street. This room type was a hit with the kids.

I stayed here ten years ago. Perhaps due to some Chinese superstitions, there weren't many Chinese guests, and breakfast was primarily Western-style. Of course, the room facilities can't compare to newly opened hotels in China, given that this is an established resort. Aside from that, the resort ambiance was fantastic. On the day we checked in, which was my child's birthday, they thoughtfully sent a birthday cake while we were out – a nice little surprise. The hotel is situated in a quiet yet central location in Patong. The pool is huge, offering expansive views directly facing the sea. On clear days, you can watch the sunset from the pool. It's separated from the beach by just a small road, making it very convenient for beach activities or simply relaxing. We stayed in a swim-up room for two nights, which felt more like a private pool. However, with kids, we preferred the main pool, mainly for the better views. We basically spent our days by the pool and evenings at the beach. There's a good massage place and restaurant right by the hotel's main entrance. They're next to each other, and the restaurant, belonging to the neighboring hotel, has a trendy, Instagrammable vibe and is popular with many foreigners. If the hotel breakfast isn't to your liking, you can have brunch there; we ate there several times and also had massages for a few days straight. This trip, we stayed in both Karon and Patong, but next time, I'd only choose Patong – it's much more convenient for going out and exploring.

I really love this hotel, and my kids do too! Although the breakfast wasn't great, the room was very comfortable! I especially loved sitting on the rocking chair on the balcony watching the sunrise and sunset! I'll definitely stay here again!

Overall, it was pretty good. We booked a Deluxe Pool View room, and a Chinese-speaking front desk staff (not sure if she was Chinese, but she spoke Chinese) upgraded us to an Ocean View Suite. The room was huge, but it was on the first floor facing the road. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to reconsider booking an ocean view room. We left 40 Thai Baht tip every day, and the cleaning was always good. One day, they even folded us an elephant!

The hotel's location is excellent; you can walk to the beach and nearby restaurants. The room was clean, though the facilities were a bit old, but overall it was good.

The hotel indeed has very few Chinese guests, but they were still quite friendly towards us. I'm not sure if it was because they initially messed up my name, or for some other reason, but they upgraded us from a family room to a suite, which was large and beautiful. We were very satisfied with our stay, and there was an ocean view right outside the window. The hotel environment is nice, but the breakfast is just average. It's not too far or too close to Jungceylon and the seafood market, about a 20-minute walk, but taxis are quite expensive. The only downside is that it's too noisy at night; you can hear all the sounds from the road and the bars, and the soundproofing is a bit poor.
