Friendly staff on arrival and beyond with choc lab coco. Upgraded us to the family suite as one of the rooms would have been on another level. Explained everything to us and showed us where everything was. Gave us plates for our pizza. Showed us the bar and what to do. Home from home. Beautiful breakfast and friendly helpful staff and all guests were friendly too. Lovely small family feel

Lovely sunny room for our one night stay in this nicely decorated hotel. Easy walk into the delightful town and also to the seafront. Even though we were the only ones dining in that night, a three course meal was dished up for us Good breakfast next morning.

Lovely hotel a few minutes from Sidmouth town and beach . Perfect hosts . Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean facing the garden where their free range chickens were a delight to watch scratching around . Nothing was too much trouble for them . We had Sunday lunch there which was one of the best I've ever had it was so delicious couldn't fault anything. It was our wedding anniversary on the Sunday and everything was perfect and lovely . Wouldn't hesitate to go back there

My husband and I recently went for Sunday lunch to Woodlands and cannot wait until we will be going again. The starters were a good size and we both enjoyed these very much. The carvery on offer was excellent with good choices offered. I had the roast beef and my husband the gammon ham both cooked to perfection. The Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, veg and gravy were all tasty. Deserts once again plenty of choice and we had bread and butter pudding and lemon meringue which did not disappoint. This was followed by coffee in the lovely lounge making for a relaxing afternoon. We were very pleased with choice, portion sizes and service all offering good value.

The hotel has just started offering Sunday Lunch. We visited yesterday and it was absolutely excellent. Beautifully cooked meats, FIVE vegetables offered (chantilly carrots and cauliflower cheese, both superb, amongst them), and great roast potatoes. Then a really good bread and butter pudding for dessert. Dan and Megan were very friendly hosts and there is a light and spacious conservatory for pre-lunch drinks and post-lunch coffee. Highly recommended!

I'm not one for doing reviews but this is a must because WOODLANDS is the most WONDERFUL place to stay. Spotless bedlinen, good mattresses, fresh tasty well cooked food that is cooked for you, it's not waiting for you! evening meals & breakfast, overlooking the garden through the tall arched windows We & our dog were made most welcome. Location perfect, Park to the left, few min walk, beach front to the right approximately ten min, as one comes out through the traditional front door. Parking on site. Fabulously decorated for Christmas ( Dan & Megan also sell pine Christmas trees)

The Woodlands has beautiful public areas and a nice garden and patio and an honor bar. It's on a busy road, but we heard no noise in Room 11 where we stayed. We were delighted to find a big shower after the tiny ones we had encountered in B&Bs. No washcloths were provided, but there were nice big towels. It was an easy walk to pubs, restaurants and the seafront.

A lovely hotel with period features. A high standard of housekeeping and an excellent breakfast. Our only regret was that we were only there for one night.

We were very happy with our stay and would be happy to stay there again. The staff are so polite and helpful. The rooms are spacious, stylish well decorated and so clean. The ensuite again was spacious and very clean. Our breakfast and service was great, good choice, prompty served by cheerful staff.All public area including the bar exceeded our expectaions.
