I enjoyed my stay at Amara. They staff are friendly and the lobby is beautifully decorated for Christmas. I was a bit concerned about the temperature in the room, since it’s a high floor. Also, I was given a room with a conjoined wall / door so the noise level from my neighbors was a bit annoying. But mostly a great place to stay!

The location is excellent. It's located about 20 minutes from Shanghai Railway Station by taxi. There are many modern eateries and restaurents surrounding the hotel. The services at the hotel is great too. All the front desk staffs are polite and friendly. When I was done with my check-in, one of the staffs even greeted, welcome and led me all the way the lift. What an amazing feeling. The room is new, modern, neat and super clean; and it comes with a beautiful city view.

Recommended by a friend, it's an old-school hotel. The decoration is not trendy, but the quality is passable. The bath water is big and warm enough, and the bed and pillows are comfortable. We would highly recommend this hotel, the staff were very accommodating and helpful. The hotel is very stylish and the food is always fresh. Not to mention the comfortable beds. Good value for family travel especially the double beds and fully equipped kitchen. Hotel is a bit old and the bathroom sliding door needs a replacement. I was almost trapped in the bathroom when the sliding door was jammed. Managed to squeeze myself out from the gap. Maintenance guy was quick in responding but couldn’t fix the problem onsite. We ended up having an open bathroom with four inmates 🙁. Location wise is good, metro is next door, there are many eateries within walking distance.

We needed a place to stay for 2 nights in Shanghai so we decided to stay here. Easy to find the hotel since it is very close to a subway station. Everything was fine during our stay. Only thing is the exercise room is really only 2 machines. So if you need a place with a gym then this is not a good choice. Other than that everything was fine. Good location and shops close by.

Security was welcoming the minute I arrived, I felt welcomed before entering the hotel. Check in was quick and smooth and I was offered Chrysanthemum tea, to be corrected if not. Both as a welcome drink and everytime I was in the lobby waiting for taxi. Angela, speaks English, helped with my luggage and requesting a taxi, and also using the metro but I'd get lost, so went with the taxi. She kept checking how farvmy taxi was and walked me to the taxi, even informed the driver where I was going and confirmed my number. She is just amazing. And after checking in, I was accompanied to my room and my Luggage was carried for me 🙃 Going to breakfast, I was accompanied from the elevator to the restaurant and they elevator door was held open after breakfast. Honestly, the service, the staff is amazing. Big ups to everyone. The metro is literally next to the hotel, but Shanghai metro needs a bit of experience and patience, lol, I choose peace. The hotel is just under 20 minutes from Shanghai Railway Station I highly recommend this hotel and I'd definitely return to it.

The Hema downstairs, which was still being renovated when I lived before, is now open; the Line 14, which was still under construction downstairs, is also connected, and the exit is very close to the hotel. The room is very large, and there are only a few households on each floor. It is very quiet. Since there are mostly long-term tenants, there are simple kitchen utensils, microwaves, ovens, washing machines, refrigerators, and coffee machines. The gym has basic equipment and there are few people. Downstairs is Igo Plaza, a cinema and restaurants. There are all department stores, which basically meet my needs. The only fly in the ointment is that the service life is long and the furniture decoration style is a bit old, but I don't care about these (very cautious about this point).
