The hotel is very well located in Dongdaemun with the building connected to Hyundai outlet malls and doota. Everything is within walking distance for night shopping and also DDP which is the new culture park. Right out of the doorstep there is a food street and many restaurants. Room is clean with a functioning AC. The size of the room is relatively good for this class of hotel, providing ample space for 2 large suitcases. There is everything you need in the room. The TV channels are international as well covering all languages. I would bring own slippers as they only provide reusable rubber ones and you would need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste as they do not provide it. There is a 24hr CU mart inside the hotel which is like a local 7-11. There is also a GoKart experience in the hotel on the 14/f which is kinda fun for a group of friends. Transportation routes are easy and all the taxi drivers seem to know of this hotel. I would recommend staying here for those that are roaming the Dongdaemun and it’s surrounding areas.

I chose this hotel because of its location and cleanliness. The entrance is not large, but it is very clean and stylish, and the male staff was kind (^^) However, unfortunately, I was surprised at how small the twin room was for ¥19,000 (T ^ T)! The space between the dressing table and the bed was so narrow that only one person could fit through. I thought a business hotel would be better. I thought I would be able to see the night view, but it was inside a building and I couldn't see it at all, so I thought the photo of me riding the Hotel Migliore was almost a scam! At the very least, I wish they would have included small rooms. It was nice to be able to go home immediately after shopping at Dongdaemun, but the price and the room didn't match.

We enjoyed our stay here. Some pros: conveniently located near several subway stations and lines. Service was quite good with clean rooms, cleaned everyday. The self-check in and self-checkout was really great. There was a nice view from our room, overlooking Namsan and Seoul Tower. Cons: had some issues getting the electric outlets to allow electricity to flow and the water pressure from the shower was very light, making it hard to take a shower in a timely manner. Overall, not bad but there are better options around Dongdaemun for a similar price.

Pleasant stay in the heart of the city Location The hotel's location is fantastic. It's right in the heart of Seoul, within walking distance of the vibrant Dongdaemun Design Plaza, shopping centers, and many local restaurants. While it may not have the flashiest amenities, the excellent location and friendly staff make it a solid choice for travelers looking to explore the city. The hotel location is perfect and it is right infront of the lift exit 4 from DDP train station. It has airport bus stop right in front of the hotel to Incheon Airport. It may take 2 hours traveling time to airport because the bus will drop by many places around Seoul before heading to airport. The room is spacious and clean.

Excellent. The check-in and check out was quick and easy. Breakfast was abit expensive but quite good. The room was abit spacious, and clean. Location was about 6min slow walk away from DDP station. exit 12 lift. Location was walkable to Gwangjang market for food. Kudos to the cleanliness, location and amenities.

Our experience in Merlin Hotel is nothing short but, amazing. The owner and staff of the hotel was friendly and helpful, they were very accommodating during our stay. Although the service and facilities may not be the greatest, in comparison to a 5 star hotel, it was sufficient and well equipped. The rooms does not come with toiletries, however, it is provided at front desk which is top-up daily by staff, and guest may take as much as they require. As for cleaning services, the staff will change towel (put it inside the provided basket) and do minimal cleaning of room (sweep or, mop the room) daily. The location of the hotel is near Chungmuro station, just take exit 8 (stairs) or, exit 1 (escalator; will require to cross road to reach hotel). The subway itself is an ideal station with intercepting line which is, Line 4 and Line 3. Additionally, it is also a stop away from Dongdaemun with transfer line of Line 2, Line 4 and Line 4. It is a walking distance to Myeongdong, approximately 10 - 15 minutes depending on your walking speed. Overall, I would definitely book this hotel again on my next visit to Korea, not because of the hotel location or etc but, the staff there who were an absolute ray of sunshine with their positive energy.

People on here complaining about the size of the room. For the location, cleanliness, and provision - it’s nearly half the price of any other hotel in the same arena. Rooms are tiny, but for quick trips to Seoul (we need to go for passport renewals, etc periodically), it works well. Metro really isn’t confusing or very far. It’s about a 7 minute walk.

Service was inconsistent - sometimes the staff were really nice and friendly and other times they were plain rude and disrespectful to you. When I first entered my room the smell took me aback. It smelled like a mix of sweat and wet socks. The sheets were crumpled and weren’t super clean either. The bathtub had yellow stains which threw me off as I was looking forward to a midnight soak. Basic amenities were given, which was great. The housekeeping ladies were really sweet as well. It’s a 5 minute walking distance to the train station so location was not so bad. Sadly I don’t think I’d book again as it was not that worth for the price.

Hotel PJ is my pick whenever I visit Seoul due to its location (＜10min walking distance from different lines) and competitive prices. It is clean, has spacious rooms enough to usually put more than 2 luggages, and sufficient amenities such as gym, coin laundry (including a common ironing board) and helpful customer service. Even though the shuttle bus no longer runs till late, I still appreciate taking it to nearby spots during the day. There are also many convenience stores nearby, which makes it even more ideal a location. Hope to be back soon!
