The Shilla Seoul

The room was comfortable, clean, and tidy, truly living up to South Korea's top reputation. The service was warm and attentive, making me feel right at home. The hotel shuttle bus provides free, convenient, and quick round-trip service to the duty-free shop and subway station.

The thread count of the bed linens is really low; I felt hot, itchy, and couldn't breathe. The air conditioning in room 1720 is also very noisy, and adjusting the temperature or fan speed didn't change the actual temperature. And is the marble floor in the lobby never polished? It feels sticky and has too much grip when walking on it, almost like my feet get stuck! 👍🏻

A very comfortable hotel with an incredibly luxurious lobby. I really loved that I could see Namsan Tower right from my window.

You can see Namsan Tower right from the window. The hotel itself is well-maintained, and the toiletries are quite good. Breakfast is incredibly rich and varied; the pastries are excellent, and the coffee is delicious. It really shows that it's run by a major conglomerate – every detail is thoughtfully done. Plus, there's a duty-free shop right next to the hotel, which is super convenient for shopping.

The room was a bit small, even though I booked a business room. The service attitude was incredibly perfunctory – polite on the surface, but they clearly didn't care about the guests at all. We arrived at the hotel at 6 PM, and they still insisted on an 11 AM checkout. When I asked for an extra half-hour, the front desk staff looked at me as if I owed them money. In the end, they just wrote '11:30' on a paper without saying a single word. Seriously, don't you have a mouth? Couldn't you even say something? Their impatient demeanor was truly terrible. This is by far the worst service I've ever experienced in a five-star hotel, and I've stayed in many across different countries. I will definitely not be staying here again. Absolutely dreadful.

This hotel is quite old. For a hotel that costs 4-5k a night during peak season, the view from the window is really just average, to be honest. The interior design of the rooms is also very ordinary. My mom even said it's not as good as a 400 RMB/night hotel back home [awkward laugh]. It's supposed to be a hotel with an 'old money' vibe, but apart from the slightly more luxurious lobby design, you really can't see any five-star luxury anywhere else. My stay experience gets 🌟🌟🌟, and the interior design only gets 🌟🌟🌟🌟. However, it's right next to Shilla Duty Free, just a two or three-minute walk away. So, it's convenient for those 'suckers' who want to shop at the duty-free store.

The hotel is located near Shilla Duty Free, which made for a great shopping experience. The front desk staff were very friendly and English communication was a breeze. Our stay was very comfortable, with ideal temperature and humidity. Plus, we didn't need a power adapter, which was incredibly convenient. Overall, a fantastic stay.
