Dom Hotel Roma - Preferred Hotels & Resorts

Navona Rome|0.41km from Palazzo Farnese
The staff at the desk is friendly and I'm hard pressed to say anything else that's positive. The reviews I've read online emphasize the desirability of the location--and ok, it's not bad. But I can only conclude that th management of this hotel is entirely clueless about giving travelers what they need. The dark ”mood” lighting in the rooms is overdone, and should be an option with dimmers. There was simply not enough light making the rooms depressing and non-functional. My husband couldn't see to shave and I had no light for putting on makeup. The many mirrors in the room used smokey dark glass so I could hardly see to put on clothing. No tea kettle or coffeemaker in the room. The breakfast is beyond awful. None of the basics you need to get the day started--like toast. The surly waiter seemed very proud, though, of a thumbnail (not exaggerating) size ”waffle” with a miniscule shred of slaw. Also provided a tiny quiche-like object, tiny biquits and a heavy doughy croissant. (Please, leave those to the French!) At least a 10-minute wait for coffee or cappuchino. A ”fruit salad” that consisted of one large chunk of rock hard pear and 2 grapes. A thimble was provided for yogurt. I needed more to eat and ordered an omlette (for an extra 14 euros--whereas at the budget hotel we stayed in earlier, the omlette was free). It was so oversalted I could barely eat it. Don't believe the hype about the ”stylish guests.” People showed up for breakfast in sloppy sweats, men with their b--t cracks showing. And a boombox blasts rock music during breakfast so forget having a conversation. The breakfast room turns into a privately run restaurant at night--something we though would be a convenience. But one meal there was enough! The food was horrible. Overly fussy and again, oversalted. We wanted great Italian food, and it certainly isn't offered here. Oddly, the thing most complain about for this hotel--the terroism squad keeping guard out front--didn't bother us a bit. Overall, this is not worth the money, and put a damper on our stay in Rome. The three stars are for the friendly desk folk.

Bio Hotel Raphael - Relais & Châteaux

Navona Rome|0.59km from Palazzo Farnese
We're still trying to reconcile the fact that this hotel is a Relais & Chateaux property because the experience was so extremely mediocre. We've stayed in properties around the world and have never encountered such a three-star property. The best way to characterize it is if a Radisson Blu tried to be a luxury hotel. But rather than provide impressions, I'll just share some specifics: Pros: - good central location - quiet Cons: - politely, indifferent service: before we came, we asked them about the parking situation because we were arriving in a car. They gave us two options, self-park a little ways a way or the hotel could park it for us. We asked the hotel to park it, but they did not warn us that they are on a one way street that is difficult to navigate, so we ended up going around in circles (Google Maps tried to lead us down an alley that was half the width of a standard car). When I got out of the car to ask, the front desk was astonishingly indifferent, also pointing out that the only way to arrive at the hotel was to drive through a street that was prohibited for non-locals (which is different than the response we got via email). - the room: tiny and felt like a radisson blu. there is no coffee machine in the room, only a cheap hotpot and teabags. (not a big deal but this should be standard issue at this level). capsule coffee is available by the front desk. - shampoo and soap are in cheap plastic dispensers that are attached to the bathroom walls. You squeeze the bottle to get some. The quality of both were unremarkable. The shampoo and conditioner. I understand that small bottles are wasteful. However, at this level, there are better ways to present this. They might take a lesson from Aman properties, who puts branded products in very nice dispensers. - bathtub is very narrow and the ”rain forest” shower on one end is attached so far to the edge that you have to stand partly on the sloped edge to fully stand under the water. - box of tissues was empty except for a couple tissues stuffed in at the top (which shows that the cleaning person knew it was empty) - the bathroom was so small that the towel holder was right next to the shower head inside the glass enclosure. - the bed/mattress: the hotel has the weirdest feature ever, which is that it has an outdated adjustable feature that ”lets” you move the head, foot and middle of the mattress. It's a feature that no one looks for in a hotel bed, and because the technology is so old, it's not great. Long story short, the mattress actually never laid exactly flat, so I had the most uncomfortable sleep. The foot of the bed was a little raised, so it felt like the middle of my body was in a hole. On top of that, the bed had an extremely soft mattress pad (as if you're sleeping on a bunch of comforters). If you like a firm bed, this is a non-starter. The only explanation for this hotel still being a Relais & Chateaux is that they have not done an inspection in a long time

Rose Garden Palace Roma by Omnia Hotels

Via Veneto Rome|2.28km from Palazzo Farnese
We enjoyed a 3 night stay at Rose Palace. The front desk gave us tired travelers a warm welcome that made us relax immediately. Our room overlooked the back of the American Embassy with guards stationed outside 24/7 so it was definitely safe. The hotel is a little off the beaten path from the usual touristy spots in Rome but in a very quiet area. The room was very clean. We had 3 in our room and the 3rd person had to sleep on a full size pull out couch. It was comfy for a pull out (you couldn’t feel the bar under the mattress) but unless you put up the bed every day the only place to sit were the beds. It had a small fridge and the bathroom was updated but limited on counter space around the sink. The buffet breakfast was geared toward a variety of tastes. Scrambled eggs, a variety of pastries, orange juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cheese, meat, etc. When the weather was nice we enjoyed sitting outside in the garden. There is a tiny grocery store called Co-op around the corner where you can buy the basics. Also on the next block is an ATM in the alcove of the bank entrance that seemed secure to use. Reading older reviews we thought there was a restaurant in the hotel serving dinner but it turned out to just be a small bar. So we walked a couple of blocks north and ate at Cesarina and enjoyed a good meal and friendly staff. There were a lot of other restaurants to pick from in a 2-3 block radius. The ones on Via Vittorio Veneto appeared to be more expensive than the ones northeast of the hotel. There is a taxi stand a couple of blocks away and we used both Uber and inTaxi for rides back to the hotel.

I already knew this charming place and years later I can only confirm the judgment of last time . The most pleasant constants of this Maison are the courtesy , tranquility , cleaning that I advise everyone to spend a spencered holiday. It will be my reference for my next presence in Rome . Thank you

Stayed a week over Christmas with my family. We were all sad it didn't do the trick for us. Looks nicer, better in online photos. Everything is just a little shabby. Furniture in the lobby is worn, indoor public spaces are smaller than they appear on the website, breakfast room is a bit dorm style/institutional feeling. The breakfast that goes with it was adequate but not in any way remarkable. Actual guest room was a decent size and personally I far prefer the wood/laminate floor to carpet for cleanliness reasons. And the room was very clean so that is a huge plus. The bathroom was also clean but again a bit shabby around the edges. Grout needed a redo and the plastic shower surround was pretty tired ‘70s. Linnen on the bed was not super great and really hated the shiny polyester bed cover. Also personally hate any kind of throw or decorative pillows that don’t get cleaned between guests. The room did not bring joy but was adequate. All that said the staff was terrific. Some reviewers have complained of surliness but we had a good experience. Everyone was friendly and helpful (including in tracking down a lost bag). Our room key was an ongoing frustration. We were in a family room (two rooms, each with a key pad) and a single door opening into the hallway between the two rooms. There were particular instructions on how to use it. Despite our best efforts we kept needing togo to the desk for help. To their credit they were patient with us, but honestly, it is a messed up system if it needs that much assistance. We could walk everywhere which was great. In summary, I likely would not stay here again. With a bit of an investment this place could be great. It has nice bones. But for now it just didn’t bring joy.
Boutique Hotel Campo De' Fiori

Really speechless 🙄️. It was originally a very good hotel (located in the Campo de' Fiori in Rome, full of immersion, with a very cute and sweet appearance, with green ivy and bright yellow walls all over the walls. There are three delicious restaurants downstairs, and A small Carrefour supermarket, the service is actually very old-school and gentlemanly), but there are some problems with the room (not entirely the fault of the hotel). I hope Ctrip can also improve it together and help more people who love traveling to book To your favorite hotel. Okay, let’s talk about this hotel. Like most old “boutique hotels” in Europe, this hotel has a main building and two (note! Two!) annex buildings. The annex buildings are apartments! apartment! And it's a very old apartment with no elevator! Imagine carrying a suitcase up the old-fashioned stairs in Europe. Although there is a waiter, it is not in the main building. It is very troublesome to call the waiter! One annex building in particular is on the other side of the square! (The suitcases are on the old square pavement in Europe, which is paved with small stones. Think about it for yourself😅😅😅) Moreover, the sound insulation of this distant building is very, very poor. People upstairs move as if they are in your ears. Although you book this The people in the hotel are relatively well-educated and it's quiet at night, but it's still scary when you walk around. Therefore, if you can book the main building of this hotel and the off-season price is available, I will continue to recommend it (but the room in the main building is very small, only 17 square meters); if you can’t book it, choose another hotel🥱🥱🤦 Figure 1-3 shows the appearance of the main building of the hotel; Picture 4-8 shows three very good restaurants downstairs. One is for coffee and breakfast, and the other two are very good for lamb chops, seafood and pasta; Picture 9 is one of the annexes. I can only say, well, very, very old Rome🤦♀️😓
