The hotel is a bit dated, and the facilities were average. The pool area was a bit old and required everyone to wear a swimming cap, though it's pointless. The sauna in the women's area was broken and I was a bit disappointed about that. The service and staff we very nice, but other than the front desk workers, the staff did not really speak English(which is fine, since my partner and I speak Chinese, but it is something to note if you are a tourist who does not speak Chinese). The room itself was average, I think we paid a bit more than it was worth, but the location was worth it(walking distance to the water and lots of many good restaurants and cafes). The room was a nonsmoking room, but yet it smelled like smoke even after the staff had cleaned it. Smoke smell seems to be imbedded into the sheets or walls. The bathroom was nice and clean.

It is really friendly to families with children, especially this is the first time for my husband and I to take our children on a long trip. During the five-day and four-night trip to Qingdao, all departments in the hotel took very good care of us. The concierge would take the initiative to help us get things and open the car door every day when we go out and come back. The ladies at the front desk, lobby, and restaurant also smiled and greeted us from beginning to end. In addition, the room attendant Sister Zhang saw that we brought children and gave us small toys. Seeing that the children liked to eat oranges, she cut them for us and sent them to the room for several consecutive days. She was also very kind to notice that I was on my menstrual period and prepared ginger tea and warm stickers. The night before we were about to leave, she came to ask how our stay was and gave the children a toy. In short, it is highly recommended for families with children to come here. Well, Crown Plaza is our usual our favorite hotel and also our first-choice hotel in Qingdao city and naturally chose the Crowne Plaza Qingdao again. The hotel hasn’t lost any of its avantgarde charm. Furthermore, the employees are still as professional and helpful as I remember them from the last time (this time I would like to mention Ms. Fanny from the front desk, hassel-free check in that was quick and we were given a free upgrade) . The rooms are spacious, and the amenities will cater to every whim. The convenient location is an added bonus, which doesn’t need to be mentioned separately as the hotel location which is near to five four squares.

Thumbs up -I must say . Almost all staff is very friendly and helpful. Even the room cleaners is very friendly and helpful. Thumbs up again for the concierge staff as well . I specifically recommend this 海尔洲际酒店宾客关系部的 Ivy 王家旸 and one of the cleaning departments lady which I forget to get her name -(she is new trained - 2 month only ) date 11 jan . Room 1256 . She is very caring and helpful. I was rather upset with the morning breakfast staff - all is so unprofessional. Training shld be mandatory to all the staff . They will rather rude and no respect to guest . I do not wish to explain too much on my unpleasant experiences here .

In the past, I was very close to Qingda University. I went downstairs and walked straight to the right for about five minutes. When I went there, I took the subway. It takes about 10 minutes to get off the subway to the Youth Hostel. There is a long slope and the Qingda University is at the end. Take a taxi to Qingdao Station for 17 minutes (because I want to catch the bus, I will ask the master to drive faster). There are permanent tenants in the hostel and some who stay for one or two nights. Most of them are very friendly. They can also chat and have a meal together. You need to bring your own toiletries. I didn’t bring shampoo and shower gel. Nice young lady borrowed it from me. The air-conditioning in the room can be turned on in summer. Before I went to bed, I thought it would not be very hot, but I woke up three or four times a night. It was hot and mosquitoes were buzzing all the time. The electric mosquito-repellent incense was still there when I got up. , I went to sleep while driving mosquitoes later in the night. The basic facilities are quite complete. There is a washing machine, a kitchen, a large screen projection screen in the living room, and there seems to be a hanging ironing machine, which is also included without my charger. However, the internal hygiene is a little worse and things are messy. One of the two bathrooms is not very good. The water will accumulate after taking a bath. Room was unexpectedly big and spacious ,big enough for three people to live in , Amenities are top notch with fridge and washer provided .Only downside is that there are no windows but that isn't something to worry about .located right at the city center you can find whatever you want from food to entertainment facilities.
