Hotel Cala Romantica

Fantastic hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms a bit dated but clean. Great choice of delicious food served at the main restaurant and at the pool restaurant wonderful team of animators make sure that there is always something to do during the day and in the evening. we had an amazing family quality time there!!!

Currently here , we were sceptical as there’s a fair few negative reviews but need not have worried ,beautiful setting , really clean everywhere , pool area beautiful , food and drink very acceptable , remember it’s only rated a 3 star so don’t come here expecting 5 star , yes rooms are little dated but again all very clean , all in all very happy 🙏

Beautifully situated hotel overlooking and on a stunning beach/cove. Staff friendly, clean hotel, food nice, snack bar by the pool fab. I don't know what people are moaning about for a 3 star it was lovely and well worth the money. The rooms do need a little updating as far as decor goes but you only spend a short period of time there. The entertainment was also good. We would definately come back!!!!

This hotel is big, not like a traditional building hotel but a large area uphill, personally it wasn't much of an issue since they have a chofer that helps you move around. A bit outdated rooms, nothing major. I do recommend getting the AC remote! It has a 20€ deposit but it's totally worth it. Everyone is super friendly but you can tell they need more staff.

AMAZING The best holiday me and my partner have been on, we went on holiday to a 5 star last year but this was 100x better. Really good!! hotel the staff were friendly and helpful great food and amazing location, with its own beautiful beach. Lots to do in the hotel to keep you busy. A BIG shout out to the entertainment staff always getting everyone involved and made you feel welcome. Somethings for kids to do as well if taking children, but wish we could have stayed longer will definitely be going back.

Very disappointing, this hotel is out dated, awful food, rude staff and rooms that smell damp. Look elsewhere as you will be disappointed here.

On arrival apartment up 35 steps with no hot water, after an hour requested moving which staff facilitated. Apartment cold and damp clothes in wardrobe felt very damp to the touch. Beds were hard no quilts only sheet, 1 thin blanket and a thin cotton cover on the top and only 1 pillow. Had to request blankets half way through our 5 night stay, as was so cold despite wearing tops and pyjamas to bed. Feel they should have spare blankets in the apartment. Had to request dry towels twice due to wet weather nowhere to dry if I hadn’t asked we would have had to shower with them wet. Cleaners were perfunctory and didn’t call every day. Food hit n miss mostly basic and repetitive, some good dishes but these ran out quickly. like chicken. Fresh fruit not there every mealtime or ice cream for children. Plates were cold and food only warm not hot. Had to keep asking for food that had run out not enough staff filling things up. Not a lot at resort need to get bus or taxi to other towns. A good bus service just up the road cheap and runs reasonably frequently. Beautiful beach in front of hotel shallow water ideal for young children. Was a coastal path walk reached after a scrabble up rocks from the beach. Saw wild tortoises a highlight of the holiday. Staff friendly and helpful. This hotel badly needs to update the apartments and inform people clearly about the steep climbs to a lot of them. I’m sure most people would find the apartments dated and disappointing and not the standard they enjoy at home. I appreciate its only 3 star but things like hot water and warmth are basic, it could be much better with updating.

I know booking a 3star hotel you aren’t quite sure what you are going to get. But this was something else. I have stayed in 3 star hotels before and this place made them look like the ritz, this was mainly based on the room. Actual resort wasn't too bad. This is NOT a hotel. It is lots of little apartment blocks up a very steep hill (they do offer a free taxi service to get to the rooms though as it is so far from the main reception area, restaurant and beach) As soon as we opened the door, the room smelt like damp and I sat on the bedding which was damp. Pulled back the sheets and dirt on the undersheets and pillows. The bathroom was revolting, photos show the towels that have dirty yellow and orange stains. It looks like they tried to fold them so it was not obvious to see. Either black mould or just dirty grout, either way that’s not nice. Bathroom ceiling is peeling and flaking. The handrail in the bath was broken, a screw was missing leaving a sharp piece of broken metal edge exposed. The floor of the bath had brown marks. The bath towels had hairs on. We also noticed that the smoke detector had been removed from it's fixing on the ceiling (the balconys are shared, so we could see the next room did have a smoke detector) went to reception and explained this, they said they would get someone to clean the room and fix the hand rail but was unsure what I meant by the smoke detector, I even showed him a picture and he just shrugged. Then turned to their colleague and started talking and laughing in spanish. We went for dinner and to the beach, by the time we got back to the room they had fixed the handrail in the bath, but obviously gotten in the bath with their shoes on which meant the bath was even more disgusting. They had given us new towels but the dirty towels were just checked in a pile on the side in the room. Went to reception again the next day and after a long and frustrating conversation requesting a change of rooms, which easyjet suggested we do as they had spoken to the manager, they said they would not change our rooms as they knew nothing about it, but they would get someone to change the bed sheets. They did come and clean the room again and change bed sheets which had not been done the first night as requested, but room still smelt of damp. There is no aircon which is fine but the fan looks like it could fall down at any given moment, rusty and definitely past it’s time. The balcony is the main entrance to the room, so anyone can come up to your balcony. The only way to have privacy is to have the curtains closed at all times. There are 630 rooms here. Luckily we were only in 100s but that was still quite a walk with all your towels etc. If you have trouble walking long distances you would need to get a room closer or get the free taxi that the hotel provide. The restaurant is also upstairs with no lift. The food itself and the drinks, I have no complaints about. But limited options for vegetarians, but that's

This was mine and my boyfriend’s first holiday away together and it was a great one too. The hotel is located closely to a public beach which we used often. The hotel itself is quite small and the food was basic all inclusive, however there is always something you’ll find to eat. The drinks on the other hand at this hotel were very good and did not taste watered down so that was a bonus. We were lucky with the distance of our room towards the hotel, as we noticed many people having to travel up hill to get to their rooms. Obviously this wouldn’t be ideal if you have small children and individuals with poor mobility as there is a lot of walking involved. Our room overall was very clean and had quiet neighbours. The bathroom was a tight squeeze and our bed was just two singles pushed together to form a ‘double’. There were a few disappointments regarding this hotel, mainly being that there is a wasp problem. There were wasps everywhere surrounding the hotel and was very bad when trying to eat outdoors as the wasps kept landing by food and inside drinks!! When using the soft drinks on tap, there were wasps sitting on top of the machine and were hovering over the plastic cups too. The hotel itself is mostly aimed towards families as there were children everywhere, so not an ideal place if you wanted peace and quiet. The location of the hotel lacks shops and restaurants (unless you travel into the town) as there was only 1 decent restaurant which was next to the beach. For entertainment within the hotel, it was mostly aimed towards children so we didn’t bother watching until after 9pm when there’d be singers on in the night. Do entertainment during the day, there is a boat ride available upon booking right on the beach which was very good. The boat took us right towards Porto Cristo and surrounding areas before taking us back to our hotel. Although it picked up other guests from different areas and hotels, the boat itself had lots of seating upstairs and downstairs.
