This hotel is a 3* not a 5*. This holiday was booked for our 2nd wedding anniversary and it’s not the break we expected…. On arrival everything was going well until the taxi organised by the hotel dropped us off and as I have him the €25 that I was quoted by Simone Fries, he asked for €30. I argued back and showed him the email and it didn’t matter to him. He marched us into the hotel in which the reception ladies listened to what we had to say and I showed them the email. In the conversation between the taxi driver and reception they came up with two different stories. Story 1 - there was an extra charge of 5 euros for making the booking (not listed in the confirmation). Story 2 - the flight was delayed. The hotel had all my flight info at booking. I then proposed that the hotel should pay the extra 5 as this was not my problem and I was going to pay what was quoted. After the incident with the taxi which left us deflated, the ladies at reception sat us down and provided a welcome drink. I asked if our early room request was granted (I emailed the hotel and so did TUI - to be in the 800 block) in which nothing was said. They allocated us in the 700 block. First impression of the room was positive until we went out on the balcony. There was a wasp nest in the corner. The view was not a full sea view but limited. I went back down to reception and told them o was not happy with what we had been allocated. Ionna and her colleague who also shared the same name were very rude and dismissive towards me by telling me that’s as I can see the sea it’s a sea view and if I want to change I’ll have to wait three days and even at that they may not be able to do anything. At this point I asked to see the manager in which a room change was instantly available. I viewed the room in the main building and the view was better (Room 127), however after moving and investigating the room, the standard was worse than a Travel lodge. Wardrobe - paint worn and battered. Bed - blood on head board. Floor - holes. Bathroom - holes it tiles. Wood chips in the door and frame. Toilet brackets rusted and dirty. In addition the drain smelt everyday and despite my daily complaints, TUI Blue Manager (Simone) told me that the issue had been resolved and in the end she made me feel like I was not telling the truth as the problem had been fixed. Balcony - tiles loose. Simone offered me a change of room but this was three days before we were leaving so I declined it as I said that this wasn’t viable to pack everything and then unpack. The bedding was frayed and the towels had holes. Pool towels are terrible quality. Gym is dirty and the equipment is not in full function. Breakfast service - I had to ask for a coffee several times while others were instantly asked. There was a couple of occasions where I had to help myself. Evening Dress - it states on the TUI website ‘ Men should wear full-length trousers or smart tailored shorts, in all restaurants, in the evenin
