We stayed at the Broadway motel overnight prior to catching the ferry to Wellington. It is located close to all of Picton Main Street shops, restraints, petrol station and fast food outlets. It is also close to the Ferry terminal and Waterfront harbour, The executive studio it’s king bed room was large with abutting seating area and small kitchen. Our host David was very helpful and welcoming. I highly would recommend this motel.

A very neat and tidy room with the best outfitted kitchenette we’ve experienced in New Zealand’s South Island. Our hosts were top notch and Greg even offered to drive us to the ferry at the end of our stay. They were very accommodating with keeping our luggage when we arrived before checkin and after checkout. Thank you for a great stay.

My wife and I stayed here for one night and set off for a hike on Queen Charlotte's Road. We took the ferry from Wellington to Picton and then took the wheeled suitcase from the pier and walked for about 10 minutes to the hotel. The next morning, it was a downhill road to the pier, it was very good to walk, and it was only 5 minutes away. The hotel is located in the town center of Piketon. The guy at the reception was very friendly and checked in for us soon. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed was comfortable, and there was a TV, wireless network, and a balcony with sea view (yes, although the name of the hotel is called the harbor view hotel, but sometimes the name may exaggerate the truth, causing misleading, but the family is real). The kitchen is small, but fully equipped, with tea, coffee making equipment, and a refrigerator. The hotel does not provide food, but you can find a place to eat a little bit when you go out. All in all, this is a very good hotel, just the kind we are looking for. I'll be back.

Thanks for a great stay at Sequoia! We had a great time and met some very nice people :) Corey: The hostel was clean, tidy, and spacious. Props to the owner whom I presume is Graham he was one of the nicest hostel owners I’ve met in all four years of my traveling. Sydney: It’s been ages since I’ve stayed in a hostel and could not have asked for a better experience. The facilities were great and they had just about anything you could’ve asked for including onions and free breakfast. Thanks for a lovely stay!

What can we say about Top of The Town without sounding like Tracee paid us to say it?! (We promise.. she didn’t) We first stayed back in June. We’re only from Nelson and we just wanted to get away for a weekend break with our gorgeous wee dog. Top of The Town popped up as accepting pets so we immediately made a booking.. We will never bother to venture anywhere else accomodation wise when coming over to Picton - we’re both so chuffed with this place. We just stayed again in October. We hadn’t made any plans for the long weekend - we’d saved Tracee’s number in our phone from our last trip, called her up and she remembered us immediately - “I’ve got room, get yourselves over! Lovely to hear from you both, come over anytime just flick me a text when you’re near! See you soon!” - it’s like popping over to your Aunty’s house to hang out for the weekend. The best sleep we’ve had in months - 10/10 for the bed comfort and linen to die for Amazing shower pressure Real good quality towels Cleanliness unfaultable (is that a word? basically the room looks like it’s been cleaned inch by inch by ‘Our Trace’ with a toothbrush) Long story short - whether you have a pooch or not, this place is a great safe choice for quality accommodation at an extremely affordable price. I promise you, you will not find anything wrong with Top of The Town and they are a gorgeous couple that really make you feel welcome. We love having Tracee’s number saved in our phone - now whenever we have a free weekend with no plans, we know we can just give her a ring and pop over for a couple of nights - knowing our dog is 1000% welcome and knowing how lovely their place is, it’s just so convenient. Great place to stay - very clean and well presented, with very friendly staff. Walking distance to London Quay, the main street, supermarket and the RSA is right next door- great evening meal. Our room was a good size with a separate bedroom and small kitchen. The bathroom has a spa bath with shower over it. A rubber mat is provided for safety which was most appreciated. The heated towel rail held 2 towels easily. Bed and linen all very good We could look out over the harbour and into Queen Charlotte Sound. Off street parking,free wifi.

A welcome resting place after 2 days of challenging travel conditions. We had a Twin Studio Motel for myself and my daughter which was very comfortable for our 1 night stay. The unit was set behind bushes so that even though the park was busy we had our privacy. The unit was small but everything worked perfectly and we both had a much needed good night's sleep. My only reservation is that it is a 15 minutes walk from the ferry terminal which is tiring with luggage as there is no taxi service. However this is no problem if you are ok with this or have a vehicle.

What a surprise, don't be fooled by the age of this motel, built in the 1960s and still going strong. For comfort, cleanliness and a very warm welcome from the owners. We were pleasantly surprised. This is a full equipt motel with all cooking appliances and this came in very handy when we have gifted a Cray Fish from one of the locals. Comfort is the rule here with great bathroom and toilet facilities in the room

The couple managing the motel were so lovely and kind. The motel was a great base for our week long family holiday around Marlborough, we were in the 2 bedroom unit which was set up well for our family with its own private fenced courtyard being a huge plus. A portacot and highchair was supplied for our youngest. Warm heaters in each room (which were used on a couple wet and cold days) the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals (there was also a BBQ in the courtyard we could have used). The children were also given some Easter treats on arrival. Parking is a little bit tight when busy but easy enough to reverse out as there's a large area on the side of the road to turn around. We loved our stay and will likely be back again 🙂

I stayed here two nights at the beginning and end of my queen charlotte walk. I stayed in the Pictonian room the first time - I came straight off the ferry to drop bags off - after messaging first - and still the lady was quite gruff about not checking in which was fine. The location is great as it is right in town. The room and house was clean and had all i needed. The shower was very old fashioned and small but fine for a night. At the end I had a cottage as I wanted a bath. I had to drag my case along a gravel driveway which is not ideal. The cottage was fine but has no heating or cooling and was quite hot. No screens on windows for bugs either. Very clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast is simple and a bit on the sweet side for me but more than adequate. I hardly saw any staff so no comment on friendliness really,

The couple managing the motel were so lovely and kind. The motel was a great base for our week long family holiday around Marlborough, we were in the 2 bedroom unit which was set up well for our family with its own private fenced courtyard being a huge plus. A portacot and highchair was supplied for our youngest. Warm heaters in each room (which were used on a couple wet and cold days) the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals (there was also a BBQ in the courtyard we could have used). The children were also given some Easter treats on arrival. Parking is a little bit tight when busy but easy enough to reverse out as there's a large area on the side of the road to turn around. We loved our stay and will likely be back again 🙂

The house is not very soundproof, and someone snoring next door makes me noisy until late at night to fall asleep. A welcome resting place after 2 days of challenging travel conditions. We had a Twin Studio Motel for myself and my daughter which was very comfortable for our 1 night stay. The unit was set behind bushes so that even though the park was busy we had our privacy. The unit was small but everything worked perfectly and we both had a much needed good night's sleep. My only reservation is that it is a 15 minutes walk from the ferry terminal which is tiring with luggage as there is no taxi service. However this is no problem if you are ok with this or have a vehicle.

What can we say about Top of The Town without sounding like Tracee paid us to say it?! (We promise.. she didn’t) We first stayed back in June. We’re only from Nelson and we just wanted to get away for a weekend break with our gorgeous wee dog. Top of The Town popped up as accepting pets so we immediately made a booking.. We will never bother to venture anywhere else accomodation wise when coming over to Picton - we’re both so chuffed with this place. We just stayed again in October. We hadn’t made any plans for the long weekend - we’d saved Tracee’s number in our phone from our last trip, called her up and she remembered us immediately - “I’ve got room, get yourselves over! Lovely to hear from you both, come over anytime just flick me a text when you’re near! See you soon!” - it’s like popping over to your Aunty’s house to hang out for the weekend. The best sleep we’ve had in months - 10/10 for the bed comfort and linen to die for Amazing shower pressure Real good quality towels Cleanliness unfaultable (is that a word? basically the room looks like it’s been cleaned inch by inch by ‘Our Trace’ with a toothbrush) Long story short - whether you have a pooch or not, this place is a great safe choice for quality accommodation at an extremely affordable price. I promise you, you will not find anything wrong with Top of The Town and they are a gorgeous couple that really make you feel welcome. We love having Tracee’s number saved in our phone - now whenever we have a free weekend with no plans, we know we can just give her a ring and pop over for a couple of nights - knowing our dog is 1000% welcome and knowing how lovely their place is, it’s just so convenient. My wife and I stayed here for one night and set off for a hike on Queen Charlotte's Road. We took the ferry from Wellington to Picton and then took the wheeled suitcase from the pier and walked for about 10 minutes to the hotel. The next morning, it was a downhill road to the pier, it was very good to walk, and it was only 5 minutes away. The hotel is located in the town center of Piketon. The guy at the reception was very friendly and checked in for us soon. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed was comfortable, and there was a TV, wireless network, and a balcony with sea view (yes, although the name of the hotel is called the harbor view hotel, but sometimes the name may exaggerate the truth, causing misleading, but the family is real). The kitchen is small, but fully equipped, with tea, coffee making equipment, and a refrigerator. The hotel does not provide food, but you can find a place to eat a little bit when you go out. All in all, this is a very good hotel, just the kind we are looking for. I'll be back.
