Irene Apartments

Arrived late in the night and no one to greet us, struggled to find the room and had to wake another holidaying couple for guidance, eventually found the room with the key already in the door. Surprised that the room was located on a very busy main road (as not suggested on google). Receptionist was extremely rude and uncooperative when we asked if there was a quieter room. Room was dusty, tv didn’t work and beds uncomfortable. A shame as we wanted a quick budget holiday, but lack of manners and hospitality have now cost this bad review. We left the apar**ents after 2 days and since received a personal text message from Irene Apar**ents which have left me feeling intimidated.

I do not understand all of the bad reviews. I was a little worried about going after reading them, but we just stayed there for 6 days and it was fantastic. We are not regulars and did not stay inthe wellness spot. All of the staff are friendly and polite. Superb service from everyone. The room was amazing. Very clean and spacious. Absolutely perfect for our family of 4. The pool is lovely and clean and the bar sells a great selection of food and drink for reasonable prices. The cocktails are delicious! The saganaki is the best thing my mouth has ever experienced and I bought it 3 days in a row. Kids loved it. We loved it; Absolutely amazing holiday. Would definitely consider booking it again. Perfect.

Took my family away for a easter break ( only just got back ) was a great experience. Stayed in the apar**ents facing the road ( not wellness apar**ents ) and there was no issues with road noise whatsoever. Staff were very helpful and friendly and pool area was great ( i suggest ordering the saganaki ) Rooms were very clean and had more than enough for our self catering stay. Very good supermarket next door and beach is only a 5 minute walk away. Will 100 % go again in future

Lovely place, nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. Close to plenty of places to eat, a mini market across the road and just up from the bus stop which was convenient. A short walk to the beach which was very nice, take beach shoes! as it's very pebbly. Despite the issue with Thomas Cook telling us we were in the Irene Wellness Apar**ents, then putting us in the main Irene apar**ents, we can't complain for the price we paid. Room was nice, with a balcony that faced the road but you could see the sea beyond. Small kitchenette with kettle, fridge etc was handy for making breakfast and keeping drinks chilled.

I was worried after booking as some of the reviews painted an ugly story. We found nothing wrong with the place. Staff are friendly and helpful, pool and bar areas are great and service too. I would recommend.

I arrived when reception was closed there was a number to call and Irene came and escorted me to room in the green building to the left of the main block advising me I would only be there one night . Clean comfortable room I moved to room 105 not the prettiest location with no view and on main road. The noise did not bother me and was no late revellers either. If I were to come again I would book a better room and prob book independently . The resort isn’t huge and the main beach is very stony and in places not very clean, I walked passed Black Rocks cafe and most days had it to myself for a couple of hours but even then no more than a dozen people nice sandy beach safe for swimming and as a solo felt very safe, The only annoying thing is the mozzies I have obviously experienced them before but even the locals complain they are relentless. Also the WiFi isn’t great if that’s a priority for you

Ignore whinging reviewers this place is absolutely lovely! We’re here now & have been to Irene’s 11 times so far. Why do we come? The family who own the hotel are wonderful warm welcoming people in total, and Irene (who is the receptionist) is extremely kind. We come back time & again because of the “you are part of the family” feel that you get here. But they don’t tolerate rude disrespectful guests - why should they?!? There are 3 accommodation blocks but people who arrive after reception is closed may not know how to find their room if here for the first time. Let me help you with that. When you arrive from the airport, there are 2 signs for Irene’s, one each side of the road - the reception is down the steps in the building on your right. Leave your luggage & just walk down to check room number. Irene leaves a note on the door with your name & room number. If your room starts with a 2, you are in the block where the reception is, if the number starts with a 1, then you are in the block opposite (to the left of the road). If, however, your room starts with a 3, you are in the Wellness apar**ents and they are elsewhere. During the day you can walk through the pool area to the Wellness block, but if you arrive after about 7pm, the pool area is locked, so you have to walk down the lane instead. To find the lane start from the road in front of reception & look right. You’ll see Alex’s Supermarket right next to Irene’s and then GeeBees further along. Walk toward GeeBees. When you get to the crossroads you’ll see Rolando’s car hire. To the left of Rolando’s is a lane. You walk down the lane, over a small stream & up a slight incline. Turn left into the even smaller lane & you’ll see arched gates for the pool at the end. When you reach the pool gates, you’ll see the driveway up to the Irene Wellness Spot. It’s quick & easy when you know how ;) Please come & see for yourself. The spotlessly clean pool has stunning views of the surrounding hills and is set in pretty gardens. (When reception is closed, Greg at the bar can help you if you need anything). The rooms in blocks 1 & 2 are rustic but clean & serviceable. (Block 3 is a bit more posh). The vibe very relaxed & friendly and once you’ve been you’ll be back :) We can’t wait to book our next trip!!!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Irene’s and we will definitely be back again. This time we stayed in the deluxe studio apar**ents, which is next to the pool. The room was lovely and spacious, very clean and with a lovely large balcony area. We did have an issue with the toilet, the chain wouldn’t flush. We reported it to the owner and she very quickly got it sorted for us. The swimming is lovely!! All the staff there are really friendly and helpful. In the pool bar they were very good with our daughter, who is a fussy eater and drinker. They often made her special drinks, looking like cocktails, to try and tempt her! 😅 Which did work! The food in the pool bar is also of a very high standard. We really enjoyed the BBQ Night and Pizza Night! Another lovely holiday at Irene’s Apar**ents. Thank you!

Irene herself is one of the rudest people I have ever met and completely ruined the start of our first family holiday. We booked 2 studio apar**ents and requested ground floor as we had the pram and my grandmother couldn’t walk up steps. We asked for the apar**ents close together if possible. When we arrived there was a sheet of paper stuck to the window to greet us with our name and 1 apar**ent number, they gave us 1 apar**ent with 2 bedrooms when we payed for and booked 2 separate apar**ents. Also on the very top floor when we asked for ground floor. We had to lift the pram up 4 flights of stairs every day and night. When we tried to get this resolved Irene was so unbelievably rude , did not want to help whatsoever and has absolutely no people skills. This was not resolved we didn’t get what we booked or paid for and all had to share 1 apar**ent. The door does not lock from the inside so our toddler could easily open the door , when we said this to Irene she said to figure it out that it’s our job to mind the child not hers. She threw the key down on the counter and walked away from us. One of the main reasons we chose Greece is because the people are always so lovely and welcoming, we are still shocked at how nasty of a person she was.
