This is a quaint old pub with qirky clean and comfortable accommodation. It's within easy walking distance of the various museums and attractions and has ajoining parking. It's a great find I'd happily recommend. A base to explore the city, somewhere to experience the positive difference a local individual establishment offers.

Perfect location, couldn’t fault the room at all , spotlessly clean with a little fridge that had water and milk . Lovely housekeeping lady gave us extra tea bags . Room even had 2 dressing tables , ideal for 2 girls . Arch in the bar was very friendly and welcoming would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere central to Oxford especially as it included parking.

Avoid. A tasteless hotel that hosts awful DJ sets and has tacky LED lighting all over the place and a strange werewolf creature displayed in the window from last halloween no doubt. The building could be used more efficiently as a nice cozy pub but instead its lost its way and is just a hovel.

Stayed after reading previous reviews, when we arrived on Friday , we were shown to our room, don’t get me wrong , it wasn’t the Hilton, but was good enough. No issue with the shower as mentioned in the last review, and looking at it , the shower was new. We were at the front, and yes there was a DJ playing, and to be honest, if you book a stay in a pub over bank holiday weekend, you could safely say there is going to be some sort of entertainment going on, so don’t book a pub and stop moaning( previous review) and also the music, although not to my particular taste, was pretty good. I wouldn’t hesitate staying there again. Only issue was the small cooler, wasn’t cool enough. We stayed in room 5

At £100 a night with free parking, you get what you pay for. Have stayed here a couple of times, and it’s been fine as a base. You expect some level of noise and disruption, it’s a pub on a busy road. Stayed here this weekend and was happy that we got a room at ground level with no stairs and easy access. Once in the room and got properly acquainted, there were a couple of things that were not ok, even for a cheap and cheerful break. The kitchen was filthy The bathroom windows full of mould The shower is dangerous, either freezing you to death or giving you third degree burns. No water pressure so the toilet doesn’t flush . Didn’t see the point in saying anything, we were only going to be in the room at night and we would manage. On the Sunday afternoon we had returned to the room for a rest, to be woken up by ridiculously loud music- a DJ had set up right outside the bedroom window, the room and the windows were shaking and it was unbearable. Quickly got ready and left to go out for food. We returned at around 10 pm to find the music still playing, you could hear it from the Magdalen bridge. The beer garden was rammed, which is obviously good for business but there was a very strong smell of ****. Not judging and I was glad people were having a good time, each to their own and all that. But there was absolutely no thought for guests. I asked why we hadn’t been informed of the event and apparently it was a last minute thing. So tough luck basically. This completely ruined what had been a lovely weekend up to that point. I don’t think the place should be advertising as anything other that a place for contractors to stay, it’s lost it’s focus and is an absolute hovel.

Would definitely recommend. Pete, who runs the pub, was extremely welcoming and friendly, offering tips on what to see and how to get there. Very quaint building, the floors and walls were all uneven due to the age of the building but our room was nice and clean and had everything we needed for a one night stay. We were even able to leave our luggage before and after check in/out so we could wander around Oxford unhindered.

Discovered we had no hot water at 8:50pm, went down to speak to clerk but the place was closed tight, cold showers all around...Emailed them immediately. Went down in the morning to see what they would do to try to make it right, but still closed tight. Still have no response 24 hours after email...not to mention beds were severely uncomfortable. I'd look elsewhere!

Very clean bedrooms and very spacious. Able to accommodate myself and my two children all in the same room when a lot of hotels couldn’t (unless I paid double). 5 minute walk to the centre of Oxford. Very helpful staff who kept our baggage on our last day to enable us to sightsee without luggage on our last day. Will definitely come back.

Lovely B & B. The owner, as well as the rest of the staff were so helpful and wonderful. Nice bar area to watch football matches. Outdoor seating in front and back for people watching. Free off street parking. Rooms are clean and spacious. Short walk away from restaurants, bars, etc. The bus from Heathrow drops off right in front. I can’t recommend this place enough! Will definitely stay there again.
