Bari Kothi Heritage Hotel

Had an amazing moment which cannot be expressed in words. Such beautiful hospitality which is mind blowing.I am impressed by the friendliness of everyone from entering the house to leaving the house.The food was so amazing that I will never forget it.I felt like a queen for a day.The palace is so beautifully designed that words cannot express it. We had been planning a trip to the Bari Kothi for quite some time but somehow it was getting delayed. So, finally on the last weekend of May 2024 we reached Bari Kothi. Our train from Howrah reached Azimganj just before noon and the representatives from Bari Kothi were there to receive us at the railway station. After a short ride from the station, we were there at the gate of the Bari Kothi. As we stepped out of our battery-operated rickshaw, our first reaction was 'WOW'! We were greeted and welcomed by probably the entire staff of Bari Kothi. That was truly an awesome experience! After a glass of welcome drink and a short introduction, we were escorted to our room, 'Hawa Mahal', on the top floor of the mansion. The room, as was expected from this massive 240-year-old property, was huge and delightfully well decorated. The furniture, all of them at least a century old, were fascinatingly beautiful. For the next 48 hours, we were immersed in one of the most luxurious and opulent stays that we have probably had for a long time. From the sumptuous 'Sheherwali' cuisine that they serve, to the impeccably maintained property, everything about Bari Kothi is exceptional. However, if we have to choose one thing that really is truly outstanding at Bari Kothi, then it undoubtedly has to be their hospitality. Over 90% of their staff are women. They do almost everything there. Clad in traditional Bengali white sarees with red borders, these women are simply outstanding and would teach a lesson or two on punctuality, care and courteousness to any five-star hotel chain anywhere in India. The warmth and professionalism of each and every member of the Bari Kothi team is a shining example of what women can do if they are given the right opportunity, training and platform. Congratulations to each and every member of the Bari Kothi team and their management. Finally, to conclude, if you are interested in stay at a heritage property, you have to come to Bari Kothi in Azimganj, West Bengal. It is an experience that you will remember forever.

My son and I were on a vacation after ages and I wanted him to see the unadulterated Bengal Maharaja style. The heritage building is beautifully renovated keeping the essence of the place. Abhirup- The Captain of the ship as he likes to call himself is a magician if I may call him so, he is a story teller, a curator and a quirky gentleman who not just extends a wonderful welcome to guests but is great with the staff too. It was evident with the adulation the staff showed towards him. Bikram, Sandhya, Chaitali, Tofa were people who demonstrated the word 'Aapayan' from the word go. the magnificence, comely and most importantly the hospitality were beyond ordinary. Finally, the food both sheherwali thali and Bengali meals were extraordinary. the little shop is a Pandora's box. I bought some atar, Kuler achar and a beautiful Katha sari. one of the best stopover ever. I am glad that I chose The Bari Kothi to visit with my son.

Awesome Experience with the Staffs, Food and Ambiance. Overall got a Royal Celebration of my Daughter on her 5th Birthday. The Royal heritage well mentioned building and property is nice to stay and the live folk music really charming in the evening

Every experience as a chapter to the book of my life. one such chapter is my stay at Bari Kothi Heritage Hotel in Ajimganj. The place is very nice. I loved the ambience and the best thing is that they maintain the Heritage atmosphere that attracted me. Barikothi is not just a hotel it is a Heritage site. It was a wonderful homely atmosphere with great hospitality. The entire team at Bari Kothi was superb and caring. Chaitali was so polite and sincere and I loved her story telling about the kothi and food. Sandhya was caring and Captain Abhirup is such a wonderful person. The food was awesome. I highly recommend Bari kothi to our friends and family. Overall, it was just wow. Kornika Ghosal.

This is a dream destination for those who look for home away from home. It was my son's birthday and I think they made the whole stay so personal and loved that we did not feel like coming back. They added natural elements and a plate full of delicious food every meal which made us go wow. And trust me, my son loved the stay more than us because it has everything a growing toddler loves to play with—nature!

Room is very good, food was awesome though all meal was jain food. Excellent property with full of ancient furniture and architecture. Ambience is very good, staff behaviour also very good. Good hospitality with welcome drink. Good photogenic architecture and bhagirathi diver front property

The place is a must visit. The experience was very good. The treatment you get when you arrive is amazing. The rooms are very well maintained and food was very tasty. You would find an old tv piano and a typewriter in the lobby area which is nostalgic.
