Radisson Red Miami Airport

Had a horrible experience a couple of blocks away at some trashy place… But not only was this hotel the exact opposite of that, but they ACTUALLY got me in the vacation mood right back again. Luis the manager was nothing but a knowledgeable young man of the area and his hospitality is what got me to give this a shot. 10/10
Even Hotel Miami - Airport, an IHG Hotel

Even hotel Miami airport only 5 minutes from the airport, MIA and has a courtesy shuttle if you are not driving. Having said that, they charge $15 per night for parking. Even hotels has a focus on wellbeing which themes throughout the hotel. At the lobby level there is a nice bar and restaurant area with a good offering, however if you get free breakfast as an IHG elite member then they limit the breakfast to a bare minimum. There is also a large and extensive gym at the lobby level and a heated outdoor pool at the back garden. The rooms are new, modern and a good size with a training corner with a set of in room training equipment. Treatment of elite members aside, it is a nice, new and excellent airport hotel.

After departing from our cruise, we arrived early (10 am) of our check-in time. We had booked the room through Chase Ultimate Rewards using points and received confirmation from Chase. I am also a Gold Elite Bonvoy member. When we arrived, our reservation was not in the system. After going back and forth with management, the manager, Karen, basically told us (at 3pm) that they would not be able to accommodate us that night as they were overbooked and had no rooms available. ”Chase” had not paid the hotel for the room, so we do not have a reservation in the system. I was asked to contact chase to get the hotel a virtual credit card to keep my reservation. We talked to Chase and they had to work with the hotel directly. According to the Chase Rep, Chase had to pay for a new booking and pay extra fees for us to stay that evening, so the hotel did have availability. We eventually checked in at 4pm. Mind you we are a family traveling with a 6 and 2 yo, at risk of not having a place to stay. We were not the only guests in that position, there were at minimum four other groups with their 3rd party reservations not being recognized. I believe they have a system error that they refuse to recognize. Or maybe it's on purpose to have customers book a lower cost room to end up charging the booking company more money for the reservation. Either way it was a poor experience all around. This was my first time experiencing this with travel to six continents and 25+ countries. The hotel itself was ok. The pros were complimentary breakfast, free airport shuttle, and large lobby which we regrettably had to wait at for 6+ hours. The cons were check-in process, dirty room floor, and a sticky deadbolt that caused us to be stuck in our room until maintenance was able to let us out. The location is only convenient for the airport, no where to eat at or walk to nearby. Kind of shady area with run down business around.
The Boutique Hotel Miami

I'm glad that this place was available as a budget option in Miami, however, it fell below my expectations. Firstly, Copper Door should not deceptively name itself as a B&B since that would mean they offer a breakfast included with the room rate. They actually only offer a 10% discount on their restaurant which is extravagantly priced ($20 for a chicken & waffles). Secondly, this is not a ”3-star”, it is more like a 2-star since it is basic but does have a public lounge. Finally, this place is VERY budget. Uncomfortable spongey, lumpy pillows, no outlets near the bed for your phone, no mini fridge for keeping cold beverages, no ice. How can they not offer cold water in hot Miami? The closet light did not work, so I had to keep my clothes in a dark closet. The bathroom is very small, so you can't keep your toiletries nearby. Most of all, the staff wasn't accommodating for simple and very normal requests such as luggage holding. We were told to download an app for another service, then we would have to take a taxi to bring our luggage to a locker! After enough complaining, we were able to get them to just hold our luggage behind the desk for two hours. Overall, an okay experience. Wish they offered more amenities and service.

We arrived at the restaurant at 9:36 and the breakfast ended at 9:30. When we checked in, we also asked the reception desk for breakfast time until 10 o'clock (the original weekend was until 10 o'clock). Three families did not eat breakfast. . The parking lot is in the next building but there is an elevator connection. Parking is charged and a resort fee is charged.
