To begin with there is no check in desk at the property.There is a bar in the main lobby that opens at 5pm and will remain open well past 2am if there are clients.I had to contact the hotel to request a room upgrade prior to the trip but it was not easy.If you call the main hotel Shelley no one answers the phone if you contact the hotel management group by phone they make you email them and it takes them more than 24 hours to respond.When I finally arrived for check in I got to my room on the first floor a few doors away from the bar and the room was stuffy and moist and had an odor of mold.The air conditioner was not working and just pushed around the bad air.Any time it would turn on there was little bugs flying in the room, I tried to give it a pass because we’re near the ocean but as the days progressed the moisture level and odor in the room increased.I woke up extremely congested every morning and essentially wet because of how damp it was in the room.On the 3rd night of the stay I requested a room change the hotel employee came into the room to make sure that the room indeed was as I had stated and before walking into the room she noticed and said oh yes I’ll put in a request for room change but there was nothing they could do for the night.The following morning we were changed to a room on the 3rd floor and it turned out that the hotel does not have any visible elevator access so we had to carry our bags up.Requesting refund they offered an insulting $100.
