Marree Hotel

A real gem, we had a cabin which was great and comfortable. The vibe of the pub was amazing, visitors mingling and hearing stories from locals. Our meals were delicious and plentiful. The continental breakfast had everything you would like. The plus also for us was the flight over Lake Eyre and the Marree Man. Just a great stay. Full credit to the owners for choosing their staff well, it makes a difference.

Made to feel like it was great privilege that I was allowed to stay here. Very rude owner at reception. Outback hospitality my back side. Paid $155 for incredibly basic room at the side of the pub. Fridge was set to min power level that spoiled all my food, tv didn’t work, shower cold and took 5 mins to get me wet. Bar staff were super polite, beer was cold and food was ok. Should have kept driving and given my $300 to someone who appreciated it.

Big old pub in centre of town. Is a more imposing building than others nearby. We stayed in cabins out the back which were basic but ok. Awful wet bathroom with no shower screen or curtain. Had meals at pu . Typical pub grub limited menu, some stuff wasn't available. Prices average for a country town. Pub has bar pokies and meal area. Good vibe.

My colleague and I recently spent a week at the Marree Hotel for a business trip. We had an exceptional time there, made mostly by the friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to make everyone's visit perfect. You can tell that Maria and Phil have worked hard to make the Marree Hotel somewhere that passers by and visitors can really feel comfortable and at home, whilst getting a taste of incredible food and a bit of a luxury oasis at the same time. We had amazing food there, enjoyed our post work afternoons in the pool and also enjoyed the company and conversations with all the staff. Looking forward to out next trip back. Stayed here this week and the rooms were pretty clean, except for some candy left under the bed. Shower head didn't work in our room unfortunately. Despite this we still had a great time in the pool and had a nice dinner at the pub.

Stayed in the hotel and it was a large room with a comfy bed. Very clean in the room and shared bathroom. Tea downstairs was terrific and all prices reasonable. Staff were very friendly and the continental breakfast was a bonus. For someone who no longer has a dog it was lovely to meet the two resisent greeters ( well trained and nknow their place) they really made me feel at home and relaxed

Spent 2 nights at the hotel, we had a family cabin out the back of the hotel, was ok, but very dated in style, very 1970's at best. TV had good connections and room was clean. The lady that checked us in and checked us out Maria could not be more unfriendly and uninterested. Of the 6 places we stayed in Outback SA, this was a let down.

We stayed out the back in our van for a couple of nights. Great old pub, well maintained and all of the staff were really nice. Fantastic meals at reasonable prices! My husband had the camel burger and raved about it!! They have hot showers, toilets and water available. Definitely recommend a stopover if you are in the area!!

Where do we start! The new managers Jackie and Louise are wonderful. We had tea here, the food was delicious and Louise specially made beautiful vegan risotto rissoles for my wife who was really taken back by this gesture. Jackie booked us on our flight with Arid Air (the flight and our pilot Callum were fantastic). Back to the Pub, after our meal we had the best time with the locals at the Friday night Dart comp, sooooo much fun, the locals make you feel like you're one of them. The little shop is well stocked and makes its own fresh bread and sweet treats. I guess what were trying to say is all you mob out there travelling this beautiful country is get on out to Marree, it is truly a wonderful community!!! So far on our travels Marree has the biggest heart!!! A huge heartfelt thank you to the Marree people for an unforgettable experience.
