A lovely quiet camp site with the grand manner house for food and also 7 rooms in the house which can be booked, food is lovely and to top it off they now offer evening meals Monday - Friday. Nathan and Will are great hosts can’t do enough to help, highly recommended A1

What a great place 2nd time here and was just as amazing as the first time food was so good and tasty staff were amazing special mention to the lady on reception with blonde hair ( sorrry didn’t get your name ) for making my daughters birthday so special didn’t get out the door and she wants to come back we can’t wait to book again X

We went to The Woodlands Hall for a Birthday lunch, 10 of us and had the roast dinner option, the food was fabulous and faultless, and in abundance. The staff were so attentive and couldn’t do more for us, it was in that very rare way that it wasn’t like the staff had been trained to be that way, it came across so natural in a way as that’s just who they are. The pricing was more than fair too. If there is a better place for Sunday lunch in North Wales, where is that? The setting is beautiful too, off the beaten track within the beautiful Welsh countryside. Highly recommended.

A very interesting building, we were in an unusual "tower" room with our own personal bathroom just down the corridor. The bar was warm and cozy. The breakfast was very much "do it Yourself" with no staff around. We got a good deal on this hotel stay, so we were grateful for any included breakfast at all...

I stayed one night ,it was last minute as I was at a wedding nearby.my room was beautiful,spotless .staff are so friendly and helpful.I had a great sleep in a huge bed overlooking the mountains.breakfast was superb .if your in the area stay here if you like quiet and peace .

Just back this morning from our second visit and we had a wonderful time again. Just me and the dog this time and actually found the dog walking area which is amazing! Very secure, fenced on one side and hedged on the other, and gated for those who don't let their dogs off lead. Stunning views from there of Moel Famau too. Really had time to walk around and explore this time and the park is stunning and so well kept. Will be booking for another weekend soon, staff are also so lovely, fellow neighbours and guests too! I had the platinum pet friendly this time and it was nice and spacious, modern and extremely clean. Went up to the hall Saturday afternoon where they had a BBQ and live music. And at weekends different entertainment seems to be on which is great. Bar area is dog friendly too. again, the staff were lovely and was such a nice atmosphere (even for me a solo female - and my dog ;-) For those on longer trips, there's a laundry room near the entrance as you come in, and also one next to the bar, and also a library full of books which was great as I forgot my Kindle! I have a couple of things which isn't a criticism at all (!) but just constructive feedback 😉 Last time we came there were little bits for washing up, some coffee to get started and loo roll (I didn't bring any of them so hot footed it to Aldi!) - I know there isn't a shop, but it would be good to have a little starter pack to purchase maybe with some washing up items, a loo roll, , milk, coffee etc, maybe available from the bar or reception, just some basic provisions. I hate driving out the road on my own as I'm rubbish at reversing if needed, so didn't want a trip to Aldi but I made it 😂 Other thing which would have been great, we loved having the decking at the front, a brilliant addition (we didn't have this last time), especially with the dog, but would have been great to have had a table as well as the chairs so you could eat outside either on the decking or around the side of the van in the nice weather we had. Will definitely be booking again as this place is a little hidden gem. Thank you for a great break! Will be back soon :)

Just returned from a stay at the Woodlands hotel in Ruthin,the third stay here this and had a wonderful experience. Staff very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was lovely, would highly recommend this hotel, will definitely be returning.

Overall a good stay, great location to use as a base to visit Wrexham, Towyn, Rhyl, Prestatyn and Zip World locations at Betwys Y Coed and Penrhyn Quarry, we visited all these locations and more. Staff on site very friendly and helpful, food served in conservatory was fantastic in a nice relaxed setting, the site grounds were nicely kept and lovely for a walk, only negatives or areas that could be improved for me is when staying in a dog friendly caravan a hoover should be in the caravan to clean on the go, for our deluxe caravan the seats were stained possibly by previous visitors allowing dogs on seats, possibly a sign to say not allowed, in the bar area men’s toilets, no hand soap or dispensers to be seen. Would I return, yes I would, Ruthin is a lovely area with a nice town centre which has all the amenities you would require.

I do not understand what everyones complaining about. We stayed and has a great time. Only complaint was we didn't book for longer. The site was immaculate. It was clean tidy and so beautiful. The site was on many levels and only added to the beauty. So much fora and fauna. We had a bacon y at our caravan and it was so relaxing sat outside and just enjoying the peace and quiet. We had a 2 bed caravan with a food up bed in the living room. The main bedroom was incredibly spacious. A king size bed and on suite. Plenty of wardrobe space. The only down side was the pillows were a bit tiered. The 2nd bedroom had 2 single beds and storage again. Our family bathroom was beautiful. It wasn't like being in a caravan. Black shower etc. The heating was very effective for was good early in the morning and late at night and quick to work. The kitchen was beautiful. All the mod cons. And thankfully a large fridge freezer. Always good for the beer and wine!! The decor and soft furnishings were so nicely matched throughout the caravan. Everything matched and even the carpet had a thick feel to it. I removed the plastic from one of the door trims. I think it may have been newly laid. It had a modern country feel to it. Also more important it was very clean and tidy. The living room had a sliding door to the balcony. If the weather had been kinder we would have spent more time out there. The TV was modern and a great quality. There were 2 settees, One a 2 seater and one a 3 seater. Very comfortable and made it feel even more homely. We ate in the main area and the food was amazing. We chatted with the chef on our first night and she was passionate about her work. You can taste it in her food. Delicious and so much of it. There was entertainment in the evening in the way of a quiz, bingo and singer one night and the next night there was a singer. All worth watching. Sadly we had to return home a day early but plan to return next year for longer. The staff were so nice. They couldn't do enough to help us and always so helpful and polite. The lady in reception came across as dedicated to her job. She was always happy and chatted to everyone making sure things were okay.
