On the date of our arrival we were welcomed by a representative of the owner (Filipos) to inform us that the apartment from our reservation is not available. They tried to offer some other apartment few km far from this place under a condition. The new apartment was not available for the first night (but offered), so we were offered to stay one night in a villa owned by the same owner at almost 3 times of the price of our initial reservation until the new place is vacated the next day. If we don't like that they just said "You are free to look for another place in Lefkada". It was 6PM so that it would be really awful experience to waste our time searching for a new hotel in a place that we are for first time and we don't know. My wife was pregnant 7th month and she was really furious of this this thus they brought us to another place owned by relatives of Filipos which was more expensive but fortunately we were able to negotiate price and we finally stayed there. We checked in and left for the beach trying to forget this. But the story doesn't end here. In the evening the owner of Gountis apartment was extremely arrogant to threaten us by a phone call that if we do not cancel our reservation for the apartment that we never stayed in he will declare us as no show, so we will be fined 50% of the price of our stay. Extremely arrogant behavior that can ruin everyone's vacation. In the end, I decided that it was not worth further spoiling the experience in Lefkada with negative emotions like opening a case to bookingcom, waiting for them to solve the problem, which chance to be solved in practice is not easy due to the difficult proof of the case - his word, against my word and all the witnesses were on his side. I canceled the reservation and we continue the vacation in Lefkada in the new place which finally realized that is much better. One of the negative things that I noticed in Gountis apartment is the group of noisy tourists around the pool which could really ruin the holiday especially if you look for a calm place for your rest. I additionally don't recommend this place because of the arrogant owned which informed us the reason of apartment unavailability is accommodation of another guests that payed higher price avoiding bookingcom fees and of course my discount as Genius Level 2 membership. He explained that despite our confirmed reservation the other guests are with higher priority because he received more money from them. All the communication was lead in a very poor English so that the other side either could not understand our frustration and needs or explain the situation. That is our negative experience with this place which we never want to remember.
