I would advise against staying at the Alimounda Mare hotel due to several concerning issues we encountered during our visit. Firstly, we had booked a premium room with a promised sea view and paid a premium price for it, but upon arrival, we were assigned a room with a disappointing tree obstructed view. These trees obstructed our view of the sea entirely, which was not what we had paid for. When I attempted to address this matter with the hotel's reception, I was directed to speak with George, the manager. However, my attempts to meet with George were met with evasive responses, as I was consistently told that he would "be here shortly" or "just left a few minutes ago." Furthermore, the hotel's amenities left much to be desired. The Wi-Fi service and internet connection were consistently weak and often non-functional. The room was not adequately cleaned, the water pressure in the shower was exceedingly low, the in-room safe was quite small, and the balcony lacked proper lighting, making it impossible to enjoy in the evenings for reading or relaxation. It is my belief that this hotel is better suited for large groups rather than individual guests. While its location is excellent, the management appears to be careless and unresponsive to guest concerns. If you are seeking a private vacation experience in Karpathos, I would recommend choosing a small boutique hotel with a well-regarded reputation for personalized management rather than opting for a larger hotel that fails to meet its guests' expectations. In summary, I believe that the Alimounda Mare hotel falls short of deserving a 5-star rating and would more appropriately be rated at 3 stars.
