My favorite holiday spot in Zim. Rustic and in the bush with no commercial feel and yet remains exceptionally comfortable. Fabulous food, friendly helpful staff, beautiful views and being in the african bush is its own kind of magic. Best place ever to relax and unwind

My wife and I are regular visitors to Kariba since living there in the late 1970's and normally use our own cabin cruiser to tour the lake staying on board to enjoy our fishing and enjoying seeing game on the shores . As RSC had a special rate this Christmas we decided to stay for 4 nights there. We were not disappointed and found that the hospitality from Jenny and Karl Wright, and their staff was pure 'home from home' obviously finely honed from the 20 years of experience there. There was a sense that 'nothing was too much trouble' combined with a passion for wildlife from the smallest insects, birds to the largest animals. Their staff were all particularly helpful especially the 'marine staff' which was important to us. The food was very good, varied and well presented given the location of the Camp. We enjoyed dining with other guests at the communal table. The Wrights enjoyed mingling with all the guests, introducing them to each other which made the atmosphere very easy for all to mix. The rooms are simple but very comfortable, particularly the beds, and even in the extreme heat of December we enjoyed a breeze most of the night, assisted by a solar fan. Our bathroom was also simple but functioned perfectly with a good flow of hot and cold water. The view from our chalet (7) was amazing and to wake with this view of the lake and the large area of shoreline was relaxation personified. Our fishing in the surrounding inlets of Elephant Point proved successful with easy access good and productive fishing sites, certainly comparable to other areas such as Gordons and Palm Bay. To conclude, for us in our own boat, if one is going to stay on Kariba, I would say that this is the perfect place with access to the more unspoilt side of Kariba and yet close enough from our launch site of Andora Harbour to arrive in just over an hour in decent weather.

We were regular visitors to Rhino from 2006 to 2017. This is a unique camp on Kariba Lake (and we visited most of them). We've just revisited the place. Peter and Kelly are lovely hosts. Peter is an excellent, experienced guide and his cheerful nature combined with great sense of humour makes him a unique company. We also noticed beautifully changed, though still rustic, interiors which we attribute to Kelly's artistic taste.  We will be back.  Ala and Jurek

Our 3 night stay at Rhino Safari Camp was a great experience. The hospitality by the camp staff was excellent with accommodation and food beyond expectation. On offer were game drives within the Matusadona National Park and boating excursions on Lake Kariba. The birding was excellent with in excess of 90 species being encountered. Game around the island included a pride of Lion and daily visits into the camp by Elephant. Both Camp Management and Guiding staff were accommodating and prepared to go the extra mile to meet our specific needs.

Pure escapism and relaxation. If you want to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of your everyday world and reconnect with nature then consider this gem as your next retreat destination! Breathtakingly beautiful sunsets and unique lake vistas, Rhino Safari Camp’s unique location and personable staff allows one to truly enjoy this African bush paradise. The wildlife in and around the camp was the highlight of our trip. The solitude of the bush walks and game drives is unmatched, making Matusadona National Park is an unforgettable place. We can’t thank Rhino Safari Camp enough for their amazing hospitality. Omar and Natasha

A lovely brief stay at Rhino...our second visit. The wildlife was so thrilling to see, the camp is open to animals and we needed to be escorted to our rooms. We had a delayed walk to our room whilst an enormous Elephant crossed ahead of us and passed within metres of our room. Such a delightful frisson of fear, but guide Methule was on hand to guide us safely. The camp is situated on an island and the restaurant and lounge are beautifully arranged under Natal Mahogany trees. We were welcomed by Mark at the boat jetty and taken by Landrover to the camp, where Cher and staff gave us a warm welcome. The food was excellent, as was the company of fellow guests. Dining is alfresco under the Mahogany Trees and the view of the sunset over the lake spectacular. Our room was on stilts with a private vista over the shoreline. The beds were very comfortable and linen up o the highest standard. There's a most original ensuite bathroom with piping hot water as one showers under the stars ! So romantic. Mark was our guide on a game drive and a walk the following day. His knowledge of the bush is first class, and we were fascinated with the behaviour and ways of the hippo and impala, as well as learning about the trees, and the insects, the way termites live, and of course the birds and raptors, including Martial Eagle, Fish Eagle, African Hawk Eagle, a Falcon and a Goshawk.. We were very lucky to see a white tail mongoose , and a genet at, both lifetime firsts for me. All in all a wonderful visit.

The camp at Rhino was a delight and stragically located to have wonderful view of the lakes from each of the rooms and of course the amazing animals the grazed the lakes shores. The rooms were wonderful and had a real safari feel about them with open plan, thatched dome roofs and plenty of great fresh air. The food was excellent and the bream fish cakes a real hit with our mob. We caught the fish so it was super fresh. Mark, our guide was excellent with his presentation and knowledge base from tiny insects through to elephants and also good geological skills. Lots of various animals, birds and reptiles to "discover" and Mark filled in the gaps. Our Camp host Cher, was cool calm and collected and showed her experience in such camps, time and time again and did all she could to make our stay as good as feasibly possible. All up, we had a wonderful stay and we rate Rhino very highly. Barry
