Royal Kenz Hotel Thalasso & Spa

I love this hotel, would come back again 10/10, proper good proper nice. The animation team get you involved in absolutely everything and make you feel comfortable dancing etc. The food / service/ hotel rooms are exquisite. Would recommend to a friend.

Just returned from 3 weeks at the royal kenz. Had to ask for another room after 3 days as the club facing the hotel kept us awake till 4 am every night. Having tried 2 rooms have to say beds were awful in both, rooms were tatty and run down. No air conditioning as we were told it was not hot. Water was only put in room first day, pointless tea/coffee facilities when there is no water or milk. The hotel seems to be trying to cater to anybody and everybody and not really managing it. We booked this hotel as we had been here before and enjoyed it a few years ago but we wont be going back again, definitely not a 4 star hotel 3 star at best. The owners and managers seem to be cutting back on everything. The staff around the hotel work really hard and were the only bright point in a very poor experience.

Great medium sized hotel. Big enough to ensure lots of food options and things to do, small enough to feel friendly. It was about a 20 minute transfer from the hotel, after a short flight from the UK (2.45hrs). Good god Tui sort out the bus system, people are tired and hot. Make it very clear which lane and which space the bus is in! I saw a lot of people walking around irritated. If the airport won't paint the stops, invest with the other tour operators! if I had limited mobility I'd be furious. It took me quite some time dragging luggage around to find my bus. You need to pay the local hotel tax on arrival. You also pay a towel deposit at reception and take the receipt to the towel hut by the pool to collect. It's predominantly adult couples, with a lovely variety of nationalities and staff who are attentive without being obtrusive. The beach is a short straight walk, down a local street, there are hotel toilets and an inclusive bar (open when I stayed) that served paninis at lunch to save a walk back to the hotel. I saw reviews about carrying sun loungers, if they had to carry them from the hotel that would have been awful but I can only imagine they meant from the top of the beach which is about 20 paces! Beach itself is beautiful with plenty of space and gorgeous sand. The water is clear and warm but no fish to be seen (saves packing a snorkel as Tui are stingy with the weight allowances). The gym is a bit naff, equipment is old and not functioning well but it was only about two pounds fifty to use. Spa looks good, I didn't use it but they have a extensive price list to choose from, prices look reasonable. Rooms are adequate and certainly what I'd expect for the price, no damage or dirt. There is a fridge and shower gel in the room, if you need milk for the tea and coffee included oddly they give you a small cup in the bar to carefully carry up. That could be improved as I can't be the only Brit needing a cuppa in the morning :) Two bottles of water were initially provided with extra being taken from the bars. When I visited there was no air con, (seasonable) but there is a heater which can be set low to create a breeze and it's not horribly hot in the rooms. The restaurant is a good size, with lots of space and sections both to sit and to choose food from. There is an attempt to have variety with some 'safe' choices like, pizza, pasta, chips, bread, ice creams. Each meal offers some local dishes and European too. Lots of salad options and everything is made to look appealing. Didn't experience or hear about any dodgy tummies either which is a good sign. Evening entertainment was sorta kids club for adults, bingo, quizzes, classic songs to do set dances to. Deffo not a nightlife venue. Happily daytime actives are not heavily pushed, although there are a few options if you are keen and as you'd expect the entertainment staff seem lovely and full of energy. This hotel is really good value for money. The different teams are all so friendly and helpful I honestly have no complaints. Our rooms were cleaned every day just after we had gone down for breakfast, they provided new towels everyday and they were always very efficient. The food is themed and varies every day. Housekeeping and the gardeners make sure the hotel and outdoor area is always clean and the restaurant and bar staff are really efficient in cleaning away food and drink, the hotel is always kept spotless. The entertainment team are so welcoming, the day and evening activities are really good and the team really work hard to motivate everyone and put in a lot of effort it. All of the teams work really hard and if you have any leftover money at the end of your holiday they definitely deserve the tips. We had a lovely stay at this hotel, they have a lot of return visitors and we will definitely be back soon too! My only tip is stay for two weeks, not one :)

Absolutely amazing holiday. The staff are the best I’ve ever experienced. Couldn’t do anymore for you We got the best room in the hotel(by mistake but I’m not complaining) Food was excellent,Different themes most nights Two good sized pools Plenty of trips and experiences to book at the pool side(wait till you come before booking anything to save money) Good entertainment daily and at night Would highly recommend the Royal Kenz Will definitely be back at some stage in the near future

All round value for quality of food drink and sunshine with a great level of service the Royal Kenz has made us appreciate what true value is for us as guests. The staff are great at delivering service and if you have an issue just grab restaurant manager and they will help sort things out. Sarah the rep is great if you need any extra help,but we always go to the staff first. Our 5 th visit in 2 years we have seen big changes this year as the food offer has been tweaked with better quality bread and an even wider choice of food. The evening service food displays are amazing. throughout all services,the small terrace restaurant has seen the same lift in quality too.The head chef is always available if you need a word about food choices. The biggest improvement has been in the bars across the whole property with a better standard of service,improved consistency of quality of drinks provided,ice is always available and if you drink is served in a glass it will not be a random glass as before but an appropriate glass to the drink served. In addition the bars are now stocked with adequate supplies for the day,so no waiting for stuff to be shuttled from elsewhere. The coffee has been upgraded with new machines everywhere. Top tip the bar near reception has a self serve machine that is grind and serve using proper beans. Overall the food and beverage offer is taking positive steps forwards. The waiters and bar staff are always working hard to make sure you get the best out of your holiday. The service desk,gardeners,Life guards and security should all be praised for their hard work too. All round things are on the move in a very positive direction.The staff are all working hard to deliver these improvements. The people behind the changes should be pleased that things are working,well done. The entertainment team have moved forward too with plenty of appropriate engagement with everyone. If you are a non participant that’s fine too but they will make sure you enjoy participating if that’s your thing. Don’t forget the indoor salt water pool! The spa offers great value too. The WiFi this season has been improved. The beach is great with a bar serving panini soft drinks and beer. It’s a very short walk from the hotel,less than 10 minutes. Now the things that could improve the stay. The cheese in the restaurant is not good quality.Nor is the mayo and tomato sauce. Some of the rooms need a good make over as do the corridors on the way to the room.Its all a bit tired.There’s always something that needs fixing,it’s not an issue because they will sort if you ask but more preventative maintenance would help. If you want air con in your room come between mid June and mid September. Don’t worry about getting a sunbed just ask a lifeguard and they will sort it out. Overall 10/10 for efforts to improve! Outstanding, the staff here are amazing and go out Thier way to make you feel welcome, The choice at meals was breathtaking and tasted awesome, the waiting staff, well they were something else and made us feel special, like royalty 😁. The whole place was spotless, The lovely lady that cleaned our room (room 56) went above and beyond, so nice to go back to the extra little touches she did, like our towels folded into swans on the beds (pic provided 😁) we were a group of 6 and every one of us agreed we would happily come back, again OUSTANDING

My second time back to Tunisia, first time in this hotel and it did not disappoint. The staff go above and beyond for you and the entertainment team are exceptional. The restaurant had a different theme every single night and the food was really tasty, always something different. I'm already planning on going back this year, had the best 11 days, thank you to Mady and the animation team for making us feel so special.... and for the most diplomas in May 😁
